My wife had the fish and chips with a side of TEXAS TOAST Butter and toast both sides with garlic, (they do not have the hush puppies until lent next year)a side of their Cole slaw, fries and lots of lemon wedges. To drink she had a hit tea with honey and lemon, and I had a large glass of I house water no ice and a lemon. I ordered a slim Jim and fries and for dessert we decided to go to the local ice cream near by. Great service, friendly waitstaff and very attentive. All the staff works well and are synchronized which makes each visit a pleasant and fun one. Highly recommend this location. Stopped in to try out the weekend breakfast buffet. I tried the scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage links, bacon, and biscuits with gravy on my first trip. Enjoyed the biscuits and gravy the most. On my second trip went for the scrambled eggs with ham and cheese. Also more biscuits and gravy. These eggs were pretty good. The service was really great and the crew really friendly. There were several good looking foods on the buffet including waffles, French toast. I just think that $38 for 2 people was a bit much for breakfast plus tip. read more

I come here all the time, it's just a big boy nothing really to write about. I usually come at night, but decided to come about 3 on this fine Wednesday. Walked in and awkwardly stood at the front with no acknowledgment although two older ladies looked right at me. Then Alexis noticed me, she was obviously on a mission but still told me she'll be with me in a minute. Seems like the older ladies on weekday mornings stand around and do a whole lot of nothing while Alexis runs laps around them. It's quite simple, if someone walks into an establishment where you are an employee, you greet them. I didn't think women so old would need to be reminded that. I am writing this with sadness. I have always liked this restaurant, especially now, with their new look. Their wait staff is helpful and friendly. However, the one meal that I visit, specifically for, is now being prepared horribly! Twice, recently, I have gone for their fish and chips. BOTH times the fish and the hush puppies have been badly OVER FRIED! The fish was a dark brown and very DRY! The huspuppies were also dark brown and so hard...there really wasn't a soft center. Neither of these items need to be fried for that long. They should be GOLDEN and light, moist a fluffy. Please teach the cooks to prepare them correctly. "FRESH" is the word I would describe our Saturday brunch buffet at Big Boy Tecumseh. There was an enormous selection to choose from. Everything was well stocked, clean, and fresh. The service was impeccable. Party of 4 with multiple drinks, shake, all you can eat buffet, and one meal from the kitchen was a little over $77 dollars. With all of the big boys closing in the state for the most part with only a few left and them changing their name to Dolly's. This is a holdover that is a great example a local Pride and oozes Hometown feeling. Aside from the now rare Big Boy statue out front that we all know and love but never see any more. The interior is not your typical big boy with barn wood panel walls and police and fire pedal cars above the buffet along with local and out-of-state patches. You can tell this place supports its First Responders with vintage fire memorabilia on the walls including a call box and Halligan. This place is spotless clean and very blunt about staying safe during covid-19 which is extremely respectable regardless of your political views. There is even a hand drawn chalk schedule firefighter in full turnout gear on the menu board when you first walk in listing local and neighborhood up and coming events supporting their community. If you don't come here just because you miss big boy you definitely should come here because this is an example of a true Small Town Restaurant who supports those who support them. We didn't have huge expectations for this place but it wound up being very good. Our waitress Mary was friendly and on top of it. The salad bar was clean and provided some decent healthy options. My sandwich was fresh tasting. I opted out of the fries and payed the upcharge for the salad bar. It is a respectable choice when you are Tecumseh ,but not something I would want too much. read more

Came in for breakfast with my fiancé, I ordered the southern omelet, he ordered 2 eggs with hash browns, toast and ham they didn't have a meal for it like most places so the waitress made a meal up. We got our food about 30 mins after ordering, his ham was literally a piece of lunch meat cut in half and fried... So we asked for sausage patty's instead, it came out 15 mins later and tasted so horrible the only thing he ate on his plate were the eggs... At this point wait staff avoided us at all costs, we could barely get a refill on our coffee.. he asked her if she could take it off the bill and just charge for the eggs considering he didn't eat anything but the eggs not even the toast. She took 2 dollars off of the $8 meal so we basically paid 6 bucks for 2 eggs. Big boy has become complete trash we both came here a lot growing up and it was such a let down. Big Boy is the place to go if you want a place to feel like you belong. The server's, cooks, everyone is friendly and actually care about their guests. My husband and I try to go to Big Boy frequently just because we know we'll be treated so well, and that the meal will always be just as good as the last time we were there.
