    Cant even fill out medical documentation properly. They know everything about you until they have to fill out paperwork. Never again.

While on the phone, I asked if there was any…read moreway that I, a 33-year-old woman, could gain more insight into my currently fertility status so that I would know whether my boyfriend and I should start to think about having children sooner rather than later. The receptionist put me on the phone with the nurse practitioner, who said that they could do bloodwork to determine that sort of thing. I made an appointment for May to come in and get blood work done. I came to my appointment in May, checked in, had my weight and blood pressure taken (which I assumed was being done before bloodwork), and then spoke to the nurse/doctor (not sure what her status was). This person then told me that they do not do bloodwork there, and that they do not even do any kind of fertility testing unless you are 35-years-old or older and have been trying to get pregnant for about 5 months. I explained that if I had known that, I would not have made the appointment, especially since my annual appointment is coming up anyway. Our entire conversation only lasted a few minutes (I think that the only other question she asked me was if my cycle was normal). On my way out, I explained to the receptionist that there had been a misunderstanding, and that I would not have made the appointment if I had known that they would NOT be taking bloodwork. I said that I did not think I should be charged for this appointment. The receptionist said that someone would follow up with me. Someone reached out to follow up with me, and I explained the situation. They said that the appointment would still be billed as a consult. I strongly disagreed with this decision, as again, I would not have even made the appointment if I had known they would not be doing the bloodwork that I was told would be done. The person on the phone refused to not bill me, since my vitals were taken during the appointment and a brief conversation - a "consult" - occurred during the appointment as well. She also said that if I had gone to my annual and asked any questions relating to my fertility, that would have been billed as an additional consult rather than just my annual exam. This sounds absurd - I'm not supposed to ask any questions relating to my reproductive health/status during my annual, other than questions relating to what they are doing in that exact moment? I feel like this would be the equivalent of going to the dentist for a teeth cleaning, and not being allowed to mention tooth sensitivity without being billed for two appointments. I am extremely disappointed in the miscommunication that occurred on Athena's end and their refusal to rectify the situation. I am now going to be charged over $100 for an appointment that consisted of taking my weight and blood pressure and informing me that they would NOT be taking the bloodwork which was the sole reason I had scheduled the appointment in the first place. I took off some time from work to make this appointment, and the whole situation is extremely frustrating. It's clear that Athena cares more about making money than their patient's wellbeing. I am hoping to find a different doctor, as I no longer trust that they prioritize patient care. My co-workers, who have the same insurance as me, have had similar frustrating experiences. We are all looking for a new doctor who accepts Aetna insurance. I hope this post can save someone else the headache that I went through.

    I was disappointed with my visit in relation to the cost. This wasn't my first experience at a…read more3d/4d ultrasound location, but I decided to try this location because its in my area. Plus the rave reviews. The location is in a odd place but if you read the text with the directions that you get as a reminder, then you can find the place. Yes, it is very small but clean. You walk in and there is a small waiting area and a bathroom. When I'm assuming "Joan" came out, she said she was ready for us after the last family left. She didn't introduce herself. During the sessions she asked me questions here and there nothing too conversational which didn't matter. There is a flat screen tv with a couch that can hold a few people and extra chairs. There is an additional screen that mom views and there are 2 additional chairs for that viewing area (next to mom) if needed. She also sells baby related items, which I didn't buy. The area was small but clean. Yes, I received a lot of photos, but it was on the regular hospital ultrasound black and white paper that you get. I think she should consider printing the photos out on 8x10 glossy sheets in color considering the cost. Other places offer that and regular black and white prints they print for you in addition to a cd that holds all the photos and the one place I went to..recorded the entire session while capturing photos. A cd is nice because you can play the video clips at a shower on a dvd player. With a flash drive, you have to download the videos onto a cd. I noticed the clarity of the photos was not clear like how it was on the screen during the session when I got home. I thought maybe the black and white printed photos aren't that clear. You also get a flash drive with the photos she decided to capture and some video clips. I checked out the flash drive and it was the same. The photos looked blurry even in color. I wanted to print some photos out for my diaper shower and there was one photo that seemed clear out of 80 photos. Some were just blurry and many appeared as if the photos were captured while the baby was in motion. Features were not clearly defined. No it wasn't the video clips. Have you ever taken a photo with someone in motion? I didn't have this issue at another location that I went to before. You can get a complimentary 5x7 photo side by side photo after the baby is born which will show the 3d/4d pic and you provide a newborn pic, but I'm not interested. I also didn't like that you have to sign off that they can use your photos for marketing purposes if they desire and you don't get royalties. You should have the option to opt out but you don't. I'm guessing these reviews must be from first time moms or moms who is have experienced this the first time and don't have prior experience to compare this to. I really don't see how paying close to $200 for a flash drive, low quality of photos printed, unclear photos, is worth that cost. Even the video clips on the drive aren't good clips. I'm really upset after spending so much because my photos look nothing like the previous reviewers. This was supposed to be a keepsake to look back on forever and a memorable moment, but it wasn't. I wont return or recommend.

Friendly and competent, with ability to work a strong massage with hands, forearms, elbows and knees, she applied good pressure along my meridians and was able to stretch my arms and legs as needed. She worked my shoulders and lower back with both dry hands and then oil to moisten my skin, which always suffers in winter's HVAC conditions. She checked in with me periodically to be sure I was comfortable or wanted more/less pressure anywhere. She had enough experience to feel what my tensions and knots required intuitively. I was quite happy with the result, and the bottle of water handed me as I walked out to help with rehydration. A word about tips. As with restaurant servers, these workers depend on tips for survival. They split the initial payment with the house, and often share the tips, too, depending on the house rules. A fair tip is $20 per hour for a regular massage, and more if you ask for extra attention to any particular pain or tightness. Unlike servers, a 15-20% tip is not sufficient because these people are working much harder than just delivering plates of food or refilling water glasses. The work is intensive and often debilitating. They receive no benefits like health insurance, and often don't know enough to demand the employer participate in the Social Security system to build an account for retirement or health benefits (Medicare/Medicaid). Many of these people don't speak much English and some are here beyond their original visa expirations. They are often victims of an inhumane economy. If you really are put off being asked for bigger tips, try walking a mile in their slippers. 3.5 STARS
