The food is fresh and delicious. Services always great. I would try the enchiladas and the fajita as if I went there for the first time.

I went to Tu Tierra for the first time in years and my first time at their new location and was happy to find that my experience was as good as ever. The space itself is fairly casual. This isn't a fancy restaurant but it's still a great place to grab lunch or dinner. I originally ordered the chiles rellenos but was disappointed to find out they were sold out. However, my disappointment quickly disappeared when the server brought me an order of the stuffed jalapenos on the house. They were so delicious and filling that I almost didn't have room for the massive burrito I'd ordered. Everything was freshly made and very tasty. They have lots of vegetarian options but I wouldn't recommend for vegans as everything has cheese or sour cream on it. read more

I love this restaurant! Mexiscan food is my favourite type of cuisine. They used to be on fairmont drive but recently moved to a new location on bonavsnture and it is bigger and much nicer. They have a full sized bar and many more big tables. It is in a brand new building as well and the parking lot is mich nicer as well! Way more parking spots. I got the trio enchilada entree and it was delicious! read more

This has been my go to Mexican restaurant since they had a location in Oakridge. About 8 years ago I was introduced to the family that runs this joint. Amazing, kind people who KNOW how to cook REAL Mexican food. You won't be disappointed if you stop by and cheat on your usual taco place to try it out. You may even end up switching. read more

I have thought long and hard about posting this review, because I know that small independent restaurants have struggled during the pandemic. This was our second visit to Tu Tierra, and we had high hopes based on our first experience. The food is very authentic and well prepared but on our most recent visit I can only assume there was a sale on jalapeños because everything we ordered had an excessive amount of jalapeño peppers, from the salsa to the guacamole (!) to the salsa fresca. I have no aversion to spicy food but huge chunks in literally *everything* is just too much. Please, Tu Tiera, ease up on jalapeño. We will not give up on you, but next time I will send food back before I pick the jalapeños out of my dinner. read more

I am visiting Calgary on a business trip. I was craving Mexican food and decided to try Tu Tuerra after looking at yelp reviews. First of all I must say whats up with all these 4-5 star reviews? Here is what went on during my visit to Tu Tierra. 1. We were served cold, broken chips with red salsa. Some of the chips were soggy and it is not hard to know that they were recycling leftover chips from other customers. 2. Ordered a beer and it came with 1/3rd froth on top. Who does that? I let the froth settle and the mug was just 2/3rd filled lol. 3. Next, I ordered a Margarita. I swear there was just a spoonful of liquor in it lol 4. Next, main course was as horrible as it can be. They are serving trash in the name of mexican food. Needless to say no Mexican will eat at this place period. Simply disgusting and shameful ! I will never be visiting that dingy place anymore. I really wonder if people eating there have absolutely no idea what mexican food is all about and how it tastes ? They are eating garbage and paying a premium price. read more

Unfriendly server. Mediocre food. Poor decor. Atmosphere was poor. Had to ask for more chips while waiting for our food. Expensive drinks. Not going back. read more

Post Covid update - went for dinner on a Wednesday, limited seating but still a few tables left. Chips and dip to start and ordered a choriqueso - chorizo and cheese yummy. My partner had a chicken wraps in tomato sauce with re-fried beans, also good I was told. Service great. Tortillas were very good. read more

Went here last weekend. Had great and quick service even on a Saturday night! Their menu is great because you can choose any meat to put in any main menu item. I had the chorizo quesadillas which were very yummy! My fiancé had the chicken chimichanga. He was slightly disappointed there weren't very many beans in the chimichanga. Overall a pretty decent restaurant. read more

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. It took forever to get our water and drinks. Then another 40 mins for our food. I had to go inside and grab cutlery and salsa myself . The food was missing items. It was soggy. The tacos were just stuffed with meat. No one came to check on us. So we had to go inside and get our bill. I asked to discount the nachos since they were missing avocado and they were so soggy. I had to fight to get 20%,off. Meanwhile the cook came out and slammed a an avocado on the counter and spoke Spanish to her colleagues. Meanwhile I understood since I spoke Spanish. It was very insulting and over all a horrible experience. read more

Amazing tasting food. Burrito and enchiladas were super tasty. Service was fantastic. Super polite and they really care about the service that you receive. Will definitely be returning in the future. read more

This might just be the best Mexican restaurant in Calgary. Free salsa and chips, a dynamite mole sauce, and traditional cheese enchiladas that most Calgarian Mexican joints miss make this little gem stand out. read more

It gets 1 star because the nachos /salsa (hot and tasty) as an opener were great. Portions are big for Calgary. My wife ordered picadillo tacos which should have included vegetables and a tomato sauce according to the menu. got no tomato and the vegetable was potato (??). I thought mexican vegetables were tomatoes, onions and peppers. Sorry a complete miss there. My chimichanga was supposed to be with pulled pork marinated in an orange sauce. the pork was shredded but it had no sauce and was quite dry. I think the cook was having a very bad evening. read more

This is the best Latin food I've ever had. Their jalapeño poppers were super hot and super spicy! The tortilla soup was very very good. I went with my family and they say their meals were very good. The Restaurant was semi busy and the waiters were very attentive and pleasant. The portions were large and left me full! Very clean place! read more

Unassuming place. Great authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. The tamarind margaritas were especially tasty.

This was probably the worst Mexican food I have had. My tacos seemed sweet. Nothing was spicy. The rice was bland and sweet. I keep hoping to find good Mexican since moving here but seems to not exist. Nice staff though and seemed clean. read more

I loved the place, but since it re-opened the food all tastes the same. You are still allowed to use spice since taking over guys!

The best Mexican restaurant in town has finally reopened! Took my lady friend tonight, and it was predictably awesome. The new location is nicely decorated and better than where they were previously. Service and meals are the same high standard and large portions they're famous for. Highly recommend this place. read more

First of all: old furniture, cheap kitchenware, no salt or pepper and no saucy on a table.Poor design and feel boring inside! Quality of food is terrible! Quality of service too!But price is very high! Not recommended. read more

Had the quesadilla (chicken/sweet pork) and it was delicious! My theory still stands, free chips and salsa = good Mexican food.

It may not be much to look at on the outside, but believe me, you'll want to go inside and check out the food. Chips and salsa to start off, fantastic margarita's on the rocks and wonderful food. It's the best Mexican food I've had in Calgary. Friendly staff and great parking. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. read more

Excellent service, great menu but mediocre food. Good ambiance for a mexican cafe style, very informal.
