Yesterday, Tony and I stopped at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park in Point Pleasant. He had never been there before, but it was not my first stop there. The park is not large and its located on the opposite side of the Flood walls in Point. We parked and started walking around. We went into the free Cabin and enjoyed reading the monuments and markers. It is a lovely view of where the Kanawha River meets the Ohio River. It was a warm sunny day and it was very nice outing. I took tons of photos to share, and we will definitely go back here again. There are a few picnic tables but no grills.

Very nice and relaxing place to chillax and sneak a toke if that is your thing? Nighttime in Point Pleasant is really neat and kind of has a creepy but cool vibe. I have been hoping to see the Mothman but, the only sighting I have had so far was the really cool statue and the Museum across from the historical and haunted Lowe Hotel both on Main St. I love coming to Point Pleasant anytime that I have a delivery near this area. Most locals are nice with your occasional miserable "low life" sprinkled around but, overall this park and the entire town is VERY nice and incredibly historic and has lots of monuments and historical plaques to read and enjoy. Not sure why so many police and sheriff cars seem to be all over the place for such a tiny little town tho, I can't imagine that it has a huge crime rate?? Maybe they just need to write some petty tickets to help make revenue? I have personally not had any trouble yet myself with the lawman here, so it's still currently just another mystery of Point Pleasant to me, maybe they are waiting to finally catch the Mothman or the many Ghost that linger all around this old historical area? Anyways? Point Pleasant is a truly a great town, historical, creepy yet beautiful and best to enjoy after midnight IMO. By the way...They have the "Mothman Fest" in September here each year and it is truly a wonderful and fun spectacle and great for the kids as well as the entire family!!! Cos-play, Bands, Food, Vendors, Art, and much more!!!

An Ohio treasure, Hocking Hills has been one of my favorite parks for my entire life…read more Accessible to all ages, with a plethora of trails both long and short. Plenty of bridges and paved areas. You can really make your Hocking Hills experience as intense as you'd like. With features such as Old Man's Cave and a creek with several water falls, you do not want to miss this park. My personal favorite season to visit is autumn, watching the trees shed their colorful leaves. Gorgeous views, great photo ops, and fun for the whole family. Not to mention free parking.

Hocking Hills is one of the best state parks in the Midwest. Whether you are looking for…read morechallenging trails to hike, a campground, or just a scenic spot for a picnic lunch, this state park is the perfect place. The trails are well maintained and range from easy to challenging. The trails are dog friendly, but please pick up after your puppy. My friend and I stayed at a nearby campground for a week and hiked every day with our two dogs. We arrived early in the morning and hiked different trails. Some of the trails are loops and some are out-and-back. A few of them involve steep climbs, rock stairs, or scrambling up rocks, so consult the free park map for details. The visitor center is very nice, and naturalists are available to answer questions and provide recommendations. Restrooms are clean and well maintained. The campground at Hocking Hills tends to fill up quickly, with reservations being made up to six months in advance. If the campgrounds are full, there are several private campgrounds in the area that are very nice. We actually camped at Campbell's Cove and drove the short distance to Hocking Hills State Park every morning.
