TADAAAA....my 500th Review!!…read more March 19/19; This was an absolute delicious burger! One of the best burgers I've had in a while. The beef was cooked to perfection & with the truffle topping & the house made mayonnaise it was fantastic. Came with a side Caesar but something tells me that I should have ordered the kettle chips. The server Ashley was warm, polite & efficient. It would have been a 5-star but there was excessively loud construction going on that interrupted the meal. This is a definite do-over for the next time I'm in Saskatoon & the construction is over!

My Black Bean Burger with a side salad called The Scarlet Salad were titillating! The Black Bean Burger patty was chunky and delicious! I loved the avocados on it too. It was very filling. The salad had a distinctive sweet dressing and everything was fresh and yummy. My boyfriend's Chicken Noodle soup was also tasty. He said it had a gratifying bone broth flavor.

But to go in more details, the lumpia Shanghai (spring roll) was crispy and just the right size! Im usually picky when it comes to spring rolls since I don't know what it's made of and tbh, I didn't even check to see what's in it but it was so gooood especially with the sweet chili sauce Next, the bbq pork skewer has the right amount of sweet and savoury flavour! The only downside was I wish I had more to eat! Sharing one stick with Mr C wasn't enough Next, pancit bihon, (noodles) were so flavourful on its own; adding chili oil makes it even better! I love how it's easy to pick out the veggie (I think cabbage) and onions out For chicken adobo, I've made it myself once but it's noooowhere near as good as this! It's not fall-off-the-bone soft but still enough where we can get the meat off with just a fork and a spoon! Lastly, garlic fried rice - can never go wrong with it. It pairs well with E V E R Y T H I N G! Oh and as the restaurant name suggests, they also have cakes and other bakings! They have a wide selection from breads to Filipino style desserts; if only we had room for some! And as I type this, I realized we forgot to buy some cheese bread darn it! Guess we'll have to make another trip soon

Ordered two dishes to share, the Lamb Madras and two Chicken Seekh Kabobs with Birani Rice and Mint Sauce on the side. A Garlic Naan to share was plenty. The food was all wonderful and full of flavor but the Chicken Seekh Kabobs were simply amazing. So moist and spiced to perfection. We ordered them on a recommendation and were certainly not disappointed. It is tough times for restaurants during these times and this one is a wonderful find. Not the best location but worth it

I was pleasantly surprised to see Nihari and Haleem on the menu, both beef dishes that have origins in Northern India but now also part of Pakistani cuisine... It ordered Nihari and it was was really good.. I live in Portland, Oregon, which is lot bigger than Saskatoon, but we don't have a single restaurant that serves Nihari or Haleem.. I usually go to Seattle to get Pakistani food but the Nihari I had at Swadesh was way better... And of all places in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.. The chef is from Pakistan so it makes sense... If you are in Saskatoon, and can handle spicy food you should definitely try this place..

When i saw that Saskatoon had a Burmese restaurant, I knew I needed to try it. I'm a big fan of the…read moreBurmese restaurants in San Francisco, where I lived many moons ago. And I've mythologized Burmese food as exotic, flavourful and refined, but not fussy. So I gave Golden Pagoda a try. And it's not quite as godhead as my favourite San Francisco places, but delicious nonetheless, with bolder flavours. However, these bolder flavours (onions, chilies) tended to obscure the more subtle flavours. I started with the Pickled Tea Leaf salad, which consisted of little tea and lots of roasted lima beans and peas. The salad was tasty, and crunchy, but a little too salty. And I ordered my "Main Curry" with the spice level of "4," which was still a bit too spicy to showcase flavours other than heat. I ordered the curry with Naan, which was fresh and well prepared. The pork included with the "Main Curry" was a bit tough for my tastes as well. It also looked like a big bowl of mush, with a layer of grease on top. The gravy was also a bit thinner than that of a thai or indian curry. I enjoyed my meal at Golden Pagoda and perhaps I just did it wrong. It's not exactly conducive for a business person traveling alone, or anybody else who is a solo diner. Portions are huge, and you need to order multiple dishes in order to get all of your required nutrients.

Even with it being split, the food was visually appealing and portioned fairly. Incredibly delicious as always! Would love to see the sriracha lime shrimp back on the menu! The ONLY downside is that when Autism Services held an event in the restaurant portion of Mr. Mikes, it was super busy and for someone who is very easily overstimulated, my son and family had to leave, immediately after eating their dinner. My son has Asperger's and immediately felt overwhelmed, and he panicked. A more intimate evening would be best, to host those with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, etc., is essential.
