I've always said that this is one of the best airports to be in if your flight is delayed or cancelled. There are many restaurant options, from fast food and casual dine to nicer sit down restaurants. Shopping options abound! Everything from Minnesota themed shops to bookstores. There is a quiet seating area available, which is perfect if you need to make phone calls. Or maybe take advantage of it if you are just tired of noise and chaos. One of my favorite things about this airport is the easy availability of the golf carts for transportation. Whether you just have a short connection, or are traveling with a mobility challenged individual, these golf carts are incredibly helpful. The distances in this airport from one gate to another can be significant, and the gate agents can page a golf cart for you. The golf cart drivers are super helpful and friendly. They handle luggage with ease and are very knowledgeable about the airport.

When I flew into MSP, I took a ride-share to my hotel in Downtown Minneapolis. The signage was clear and it was easy to find where to go for pick-ups. This was my first trip to and time staying in the city, so I went with the Uber. However, after learning more about the city during my stay there, I learned about the METRO BLUE line train (light rail transit) and how it costs just $2 to get to the airport. On the way back home, I took the light rail to the airport. It was easy to navigate my way from the light rail to the Terminal. I made it to security and my gate easily. Security at MSP were friendly and professional. The is amply seating at the gates with many seats with power for charging devices. Lots of cute shops, artwork, and eateries to preoccupy yourself while waiting to board. Bathrooms are so clean! Terminal 1 MSP is a really nice!

Sun Country Airlines - Consistently Reliable and Truly Minnesotan!…read more As a native Minnesotan now living in San Diego, Sun Country has always been my go-to airline. In the beginning, I chose them because they offered a convenient direct flight home. Something every parent traveling with a baby truly appreciates. Over the years, that one baby turned into two (now 12 and 9!), and every summer, our family flies to Minnesota on Sun Country as a yearly tradition. This year, an unexpected family medical event required me to travel sooner than planned. I called in to make changes to my ticket, and while Miss Heidy wasn't able to waive the fare difference, however she went above and beyond to help. She patiently walked me through options, including combining our family's Sun Country rewards points to make the new ticket more affordable. That level of understanding and customer care means so much. Especially during stressful times. Thank you, Sun Country (and Miss Heiydi!), for continuing to make travel between my two homes a little easier and a lot more personal.
