I don't enjoy writing lengthy negative reviews but sometimes it just needs to be this way. I was experiencing difficulty with a malfunctioning laptop charger port (it has been pushed inside the computer if that makes sense). I googled around and found that Total Computer Solutions was receiving some good press online. I called up to explain my situation and ask if they were able to help. I was abruptly told, "no on phone quotes". I asked if he could give me a ballpark answer and he said he simply couldn't. Running of what I had read online I took my computer in. Once in store he took a look at the computer and a whole three seconds later he knew it would take exactly $200 to fix. Pining for the use of my laptop again I agreed and paid the amount. Two days passed and I was asked to come and collect my computer. I came in and it looked pretty well fixed. I took it home and it turned on but I realized that the charger was still not sitting correctly inside the port. I could gain some basic functionality out of it but it was by no means fixed. I let it go, as I was still able to use my computer and wasn't prepared to pay for any other potential expenses. Two months later the port was once again totally un-operational. The reviews online are mostly positive and there would have to be some truth to that. My experience was mostly negative and I won't return. P.s. As fate would have it, upon the purchase of a branch-spanking new camera, its initiation happened to be a rather big night in the Valley. Of course, when in the hands of a fellow partier, it was dropped and the lens ceased to retract. This was not my camera, but my friend's, who was absolutely devastated, so we did the only thing possible - attempt to have it fixed. We headed in to Total Solutions Computers on Elizabeth Street (yes they specialise in laptop repairs, but are tech-savvy enough to deal with cameras). We were served by a friendly and frank staff member. He said that he'd have the camera sent away to be fixed (with an initial payment of $40) and since the repairers charge on an hourly basis, he could not give us a direct quote. As with most repairs on less expense electronics, the cost of having it repaired is generally equal to buying a new one. So she decided to purchase a new camera instead - I however would use these guys if (touch wood) anything were to happen to my laptop. read more

AVOID!!!!, took my laptop in for a clean. $150 to clean it. Then they told me the fan needed replacing ($15 on ebay) and quoted another $250. Told em where to go and he agreed to do it for $100 extra. Got it home and only 1/2 of the screws are back in it and the keyboard lifts up from the top. Got a free Snap Chop... broke first use. Horrible service. I will never be coming back to this place. Please don't believe the reviews on Google because they are all completely fake. I took my laptop in for water damage, because a few keys on my keyboard weren't working. He said it would need cleaning and hopefully the keyboard will work again, but it might not. I accepted the risk and paid the full price. It came back to me unfixed, with the screen damaged (the screen was popping out of the casing on one side, they extended the damage to the other side), and the bottom casing of the laptop not properly closed. I asked them to close it properly and overlooked the screen as it was already damaged, they told me it wouldn't properly close because I had dropped it (even though it was fine when I brought it i). Once they properly closed it (which should have been how I received it initially, if they were professional) I took it home and accepted my fate, I'd need to get a keyboard replacement (which I would never trust TS computers with). Anyway I use my laptop the same night, and the fan is making an odd noise, as if the laptop had been reassembled incorrectly, or there was a piece of plastic lodged in there. So I called, them and was treated horribly, as if it were my own fault the fan was making the noise. They asked me to bring it in and I said I would, and told them I expected a full refund if the problem wasn't fixed, and told him I would want to watch them handling my laptop, as I do not trust them with my electronics anymore. He told me to stop playing games and go to the police. Sorry about the lengthy review, I just felt like something had to be said since they have overwhelmingly positive reviews which are now obviously fake, just go check the 1 star reviews on google and you'll read the same thing. read more

I lost all of my data on my hard drive so gave it to these guys. A day later I got a call that it will now cost about 5 times more than initially because they couldn't recover anything but in the process of doing so they broke my hard drive completely. Went into the store with 80$, a hard drive and no data. Left the store with a broken hard drive, no data and 80$ less. That's what I call good service...NOT! read more

I can guarantee most of these 5 star reviews were aggressively requested. Total con business. Beware. I brought my laptop in after spilling coffee on it. They charged 180$ for a cleaning, which is more expensive than a lot of places in town, even though they insist otherwise. I then received a call saying they needed to conduct a 300$ repair. When I asked what specifically needed to be repaired, they weren't able to provide details. I said I wouldn't pay and would look into taking the laptop elsewhere for a second opinion, and to verify if they had actually done a cleaning. They started panicking and suddenly said they would do the 300$ repair "out of the kindness of their hearts." My hunch is that the computer worked after the cleaning and the 300$ fix was just a way to make more money. At the end, they were extremely pushy asking me to write a five star review, and not wanting me to leave the store until I could show them I did it. The manager also asked if I could find random friends to write reviews too in exchange for having done the "free repair." The laptop seems to be working, but there are still coffee stains around the keyboard, so so much for a 180$ cleaning. **after leaving this review, the shop sent me essayyys in text messages harassing me for this review. They said because of this review, I now have to pay for the "repair." The shop threatened to call the police if we don't return the laptop so they can take back their parts. Oscar and the guys at TS computers were absolutely awesome. After only having my surface Pro 3 for a couple of months, I accidentally dropped it, smashing the screen. The touch screen no longer worked. After researching I found out they are unrepairable. Thankfully after Oscar had a look he said he could fix it for me. He fixed it within 2 weeks and at a great price. Thanks Oscar, I recommend everyone with a tablet or laptop or PC issue to go and see Oscar as TS Computers Brisbane in the CBD. read more

Be careful! Very dodgy!! My laptop stopped working so I went in to get it repaired- had to pay $60 up front to get it checked (which I was told would come off of any repair cost). They called me the next day and told me that my motherboard and hard drive were broken almost beyond repair and it would cost over $600 to fix which was not recommended, they then offered to do a trade in. At this point I was a little suss so I said I didn't want to trade in and asked if they could extract my data as I had lots of photos stored on the laptop. They said yes for an extra $80 and it may cost more depending on the difficulty of the job. I asked if my original $60 would come off of this and they said no as it is a separate issue. I spoke to my father who works in IT and he said that he could do the data extraction for me so I decided to go and pick the laptop up. When I went in to pick it up they asked me why I wasn't letting them do the data extraction and I explained my dad will do it for me. There was a bit of commotion and the front desk lady went back and forth talking to her colleagues in a language I couldn't understand. She then explained to me that over the weekend they continued to work on the laptop (I interjected and said that I did not request this but they reassured me that there is no extra cost). They said they managed to fix the motherboard (the same one that was apparently beyond repair and was going to cost $600), so they said the good news for me was that all they needed to do was replace the hard drive and the laptop would be completely fixed for a much lower cost. I refused and just asked for my laptop back, I had to go back and forth with them as they tried to convince me I should let them fix it but eventually they gave it back to me. The overall service was very poor, I think they lied to me in attempt to get more money out of me. Would NOT recommend. read more

The staff at TS Computers were so helpful when the hinge on my Acer laptop broke. They repaired it and also re-fixed the hinge the second time it broke and included this in the initial price. I found the staff to be friendly and give quality service. TS Computers is really great if you are looking for laptop repairs in the CBD. read more

Would give no stars if I could but want my vote to count towards their overall rating. Very outdated shop with outdated info. You could tell the place was dodgy. Anyone who runs a $10 haircut joint at front of IT shop is obviously not IT savvy or focused. Have found out from some other customers that his reviews are rigged and he's getting friends, family and himself to rate 5/5. He even asks customers who give him a 3 or 4 on facebook to rate him 5/5 it's crazy. The owner also has reviewed it himself by using other alias'. The shop feels dodgy and unlike any other IT place I've been. Went in for some batteries and upgrade for laptop, after 5 minutes there knew had to go somewhere else.Spoken to a descent shop in the city who knows of the guy who runs this place and says he's dodgy and to avoid.
