I really want to like this place first of all, and if I'm looking for a place to eat again, I will come back and reevaluate / change my review if I just came in at an off time. Let's start with the good; parking was convenient and the location was easily accessible. The food was delicious. The negative. 2 ladies were taking up all 5? of the tables in front of the window. I was with my 15 month old son and there was NO way we were going to try to sit in the tall bar like stools. There was no back on the chairs and they wobbled. They were very kind and offered a high chair, but even with a high chair I'd have to lean down to feed him. I ended up standing and holding him in my arms before letting the workers know that we would like our order to go (we sat across the street on a bench outside, and that was nice too). The prices were pretty expensive. It was over $10 for a kale burrito with a water. It was about the size of my hand. There wasn't a really big variety on the menu, but maybe it changes often to offer more choices. Bah, over all the food was good, the staff was super friendly and I really appreciate the fact that there are vegan options out there. I would come back for sure! read more

This is a small restaurant and has limited seating. The menu is entirely gluten- free and vegan. I tried the tacos which was delicious! There's no meat or beans but the pumpkin seeds taste like beans. The tacos consist of walnut pate, pumpkin seed, guacamole, tomato, lettuce, green onions, sprouts, red pepper hotsauce and cashew "sour cream" wrapped in a collard green....so yummy! This cost $10.75 I tried a brownie bite which reminded me of larabar brownie bites. I love this place so much. Anytime I'm in Birmingham, I integrate Try It Raw into my plans. I am hooked on the veggie sandwich--the tomato flax bread and kalamata olives really hit the spot for me. I have also tried the cacao-banana-mesquite smoothie, and afterwards, purchased a bag of mesquite powder for home. I love the calm atmosphere and quality of ingredients used. Each item is prepared with love and care. Friendly owners and staff are the cherry on top. This has to be one of my favorite places in Metro Detroit. read more

This was my first time trying RAW vegan so I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I've Wanted to try for so long. I brought my sisters in with me and pretty much ordered the whole menu (I uploaded pictures). Oh my goodness am I coming back! The food and the staff were incredible. I wish I lived close enough to stop in for lunches since I've yet to try the smoothies or the back entree special menu but definitely hitting it whenever I'm in the area. We tried the avocado roll, nachos, tacos, burrito, zucchini noodles, brownie bite, icecream, and cheesecake (oink). I was not disappointed in any of it. I would get it all again! One of the best plant based options in Detroit, and in my experience, better quality produce than GreenSpace & Go on Woodward. Had a cocoa, coconut and avocado smoothie that had zero sugar but still delivered a complex, rich and satisfying flavor. Walnut, bean and sweet potato tacos with a cabbage leaf for a tortilla also a winner. A huge fan of this amazing spot. They offer this green detox juice that makes you feel alive and younger by just one sip! I order their largest size, which is a 64oz mason jar and take it home with me to share at home and enjoy for a few days. They also will deliver it to my home if I want! Also their tacos are soo so good! Perfect crunch and great flavor. Aside for the great tasting food, I love that I never feel bloated or full after eating here. We all tried something different, menu and the daily specials, and everything was delicious. Been going there for many years, my favorite dishes change because everything is soooo delicious. Specific entrees to consider are: Kelp Noodles - yummy, yum, yum. Has an asian twist to it. Reuben Sandwich - one of my favorite go to meals, very hardy. Pizza - when I see a pizza commercial, this gets that out of my system. Nachos - are awesome, awesome and more awesome! So flavorful and the sauces will blow your mind. Sushi - has a great asian dipping sauce. This place is great! Customer service is quick and knowledgeable. I've been in here about 5 times now and I'm really impressed by all the great food options! The hand rolls, pizza, soup (curry vegetable is my fav) , and shakes are all very good (choco banana is my fav) ! There's also some very interesting books out on the counter to read while you eat. It's really nice to know what you're eating when you're eating it, without hidden ingredients! I recommend this place 100%! The green juice tasted like green juice so don't expect a cookies and cream blizzard when you are eating healthy. I'm not a vegan, but I do eat a 80 percent clean diet. The place is cute and extremly small -- I had to go outside to change my mind. The food is tasty and fairly priced, considering they are in the heart of downtown Birmingham (the rent has got to be expensive). The parking can be a hassle, but the parking shelters are near by. If you want to go here on your lunch hour and you work outside of Birmingham, you might need to schedule a longer lunch "hour." I would eat here more often if it was easier to come and go, so I thinking eating here a few times a year is all I can tolerate. Overall, I recommend Try Raw. read more

The handroll was soooo tasty and it came with a small side of indian spicy slaw that left me feeling very satisfied:) I have also had the Hangover Tonic, that is my new favorite drink!!! The menu is small, but they have a variety of specials everyday. The last time I was in I ordered the Zucchini Noodle - SOOOO GOOOD!! The girl behind the counter is just adorable and she let me try their version of baklava and it tastes just like the real thing:) I normally dont write such long reviews, but I just fell in love with this place and the food!
