Walked in 2:18 on Veterans Day and was not greeted at all, I saw three behind counter. Two ladies helping one individual as one stood by and one gentleman behind the counter helping two.I assumed after seeing a gentleman taking a bite and walking back upstairs maybe I was supposed to go somewhere else as I was not helped and I stuck out like a sore thumb there. Even that individual didn't say hey, you need anything . 2:36pm and I walked over to the other area that says cheap trx just asking if I were to get a nose piercing and I was told that is a different area. I am not the type to get an attitude but I stood in a different area assuming maybe they didn't see me. Nada. I stayed there looked on google and called Iron Age studios just to ask if it's anything different I need to do. I told them I was literally in the shop and no one is speaking or helping in any way and they were so friendly I left out around 2:42pm and went there. I never received a piercing in St. Louis for this main reason but I saw so many reviews I assumed why not but google and Yelp are sort of conflicting, I saw more on poor customer service and I understand completely why now. St. Louis has not changed one bit that's why I never wanted to receive service but I literally needed to purchase jewelry. I did not want to drive all over to literally purchase a 14k nose piercing( that's all I wanted) and placed in it possible but I wouldn't give a dollar to individuals that will not acknowledge anyone that walks in. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a piercing location. This place used to be the bees knees, and now it's pretty much a joke. I went in last week to get some jewelry for my septum, and for my nieces nose ring. I was recommended jewelry, and wanted to make sure the jewelry was a proper size for my septum. The piercer who was just replacing jewelry on an 8 year old piercing, assured that the jewelry was proper size. Piercer Assured that it wasn't too narrow, even after I mentioned that I thought it maybe, but I needed some expertise. He even stated that if there were any problems at all, which there won't be, he would make it right, and it wouldn't be a problem. I was informed it was a perfectly snug fit. Two days later, nose in so much pain it felt like it was about to fall off, and a huge dent in my septum. Go back into shop to let the piercer correct the issue. His result, give me a ten dollar hoop for free, and tell me to use the 100 dollar piece of jewelry he reassured me was the proper fit, as a decoration. I ended up at urgent care to get antibiotics due to infection setting in, and this could have been circumvented if someone properly did their job. This place is a joke. I won't ever return. I'm making this review so people know ahead of time. They just want to take your money, not stand behind their product, and offer you no alternatives. Cheap Tryx is becoming a more precisely fitting name for this establishment. Spend your money elsewhere. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and advise you to do the same if ever in a situation like this. read more

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SHOP. Michael was a terrible tattooist. He started an hour after my appointment time and I had to leave before he could finish it bc I needed to go to work. He refused to finish the rest of my tattoo, after I paid $360 up front for a tattoo that took him 3 hrs; it only should've took 2. He kept taking breaks and talking to other customers in the middle of my tattoo. When rescheduling to finish, michael would not show up or would show up late to where I did not have to get it finished. He also would take days to respond. He sent me a terrible message after I went to management about his poor service. JAMIE was awesome enough to finish my tattoo for free. It took Jamie 5 minutes to finish it. I got my tattoo started in June and it was not finished until November 26th. Management and ownership is horrible. Management did not address Michael for his terrible service. IF YOU GO THERE BOOK W JAMIE OTHER THAN THAT ITS NOT WORTH IT. In the pictures you can see we have plans to reschedule and there is no mention of me being rude until after I went to management. Which is completely untrue. He was very aware I was in a rush and needed to go to work due to him starting an hour late on my tattoo. read more

Got my septum pierced here a few weeks ago and all the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and chill. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and got in and out within 20 minutes. Zach was my piercer and he did an amazing job, it looks perfect! I wanted a septum for a couple years but was anxious about the pain - but it was similar to the pain of an ear piercing, so not very intense. It was sensitive if I bumped the front of my nose for about 2 days, but after that the healing process has been a breeze. For anyone wanting a septum DO IT and I totally recommend getting it done here. :) read more

I got my tragus pierced at TRX by Moy and it was a great experience! Let me first say I'm am deathly scared of needles and was at the point of hyperventilating and about to chicken out and leave....except my best friend threatened to block the door.... Moy jumped right in and made me laugh and do breathing exercises while he explained the entire process in a way I'm sure only he can do. He was extremely clean, changing gloves multiple times throughout the process. The actual piercing didn't hurt like I thought it would, it was really fast and I ended up laughing at myself for being so worked up in the beginning. I highly recommend this shop for your tragus piercing, especially Moy if you can book with him! I love my ear jewelry that Nick helped me select, it's just the right size and sparkle for my style. I went in with friends wanting to get a tongue piercing. I have 3 nose piercings, however I still had questions because I've never had a tongue piercing before. As I asked the receptionist question while we were picking out jewelry, the piercer came up front and refused to answer any of my questions until I got to the back room with her. I was uneasy about this because why would I be asked to purchase something without being able to ask the person, who would be potentially stabbing my face, questions about her experience and just more general questions so make sure a tongue piercing is right for me? Just from research, I know that not everyone is able to have a tongue ring because of anatomy Since the piercer was reluctant to answer questions initially, I was uneasy about letting her pierce me. Since I already paid, and her license was on display, I decided to get the piercing. After the swelling went down I was able to effectively examine my piercing and it most definitely is crooked!! I did not move during the process, and I have 2 witnesses to attest to that. I wasn't concerned initially because I figure it would be a hard piercing to. When I went back in 4 weeks later, the male piercer changed my ring and questioned who pierced me as if he also noticed my piercing was crooked as well! He then proceeded to change my bar and didn't comment further after I told him I got it pierced there, as if he didn't want to make his colleague look bad. He used vulgar language when changing my bar because the jewelry slipped out before he was able to replace it with the new one. He did not tell me what size my bar was and did not even offer me mouthwash to clean, before or after. I felt as if my questions were never answered and my concerns weren't acknowledged. After I get an outside opinion from another piercer, I will be back for a full refund. read more

Got a "constellation piercing" with Jezebel today, and I am very happy with my overall experience. Pros- As reported by other reviews, this place is clean and the staff are very friendly. I haven't frequently a tattoo or piercing establishment in many years, so I didn't know exactly what to expect, but this met all those expectations. If you are interested in something similar, Jezebel does have a portfolio on the TRX website that is what originally drew me to this location. I appreciated that Jezebel took her time with myself and my friend, who both ended up getting piercings. I actually changed my mind several times about what I wanted, and Jezebel was very accommodating. The jewelry selection was great, I am in my mid-thirties and the last time I got any kind of ear piercing it looked pretty industrial and bulky, this is not what I wanted for this go around. They had some very feminine, rose-gold jewelry that fit my style very well. Cons- Incredibly expensive! I didn't know what to expect going in, I guess I thought it would be, maybe $100-150 for what I wanted. Multiple that number by 5, and you get a better idea of what I actually paid. Not even exaggerating. I. Was. Shocked. The price made me change my mind at first and get less piercings, but then I really liked the couple she did and changed my mind again. I figured I was already there and...the rest is very costly history. I obviously chose the wrong profession. But, hey, sometimes you get what you pay for! I was very satisfied with my experience and would recommend it to friends, after I gave them a heads up about the cost. read more

We arrived 15 minutes prior to the time, waited for 75 minutes when we were told it would probably be another 30 minutes.. We left very disappointed, my Mom lives 3 hours away and won't be back soon. I walked in on a busy Saturday inquiring about a double nose piercing. Staff was quick to greet and acknowledge us even though they were busy. Once discussing my options and picking out the jewelry, I waited approximately an hour before actually going back. The staff made it very clear that there was a wait time of anywhere from 45 mins to 1 hr 30 mins, so it was nothing to fret about. While waiting I was able to walk around the shop and check out different tattoo artist work. Once called back I met Stan, my piercer. He was nice and informative. I came in for a re-piercing. I had explained my piercing history and what I was looking to get done in an email and it was suggested that I come in for a consultation. When I went to my appointment, Moy was under the impression that I wanted him to look at my ears and tell me the piercing options I had based on my ear shape. He spoke so quickly that I couldn't get in that I was just there for the lobe re-piercing. Once that was established, he concluded that I only needed one new piercing, as one of the holes was still open. He took me inside to choose my jewelry and pay for the service (not sure if this is normal to pay beforehand). However, the receptionists were trying to ask him what exactly to charge me for and he was so invested in his phone, he wasn't hearing our questions at all. I even asked him to confirm which side was getting pierced and he replied with, "Yeah, I think". REALLY comforting that my piercer didn't even know which ear I needed pierced... After paying, I had to fill out paperwork and it didn't seem like the receptionists knew what information I needed to complete, as one half of a page was completely crossed out which ended up being a section I needed to complete. Moy took me upstairs to get the piercing. When he took a closer look, he realized I didn't need any new piercings. However, he did not mark the holes on my ears at all, so he didn't know if they were aligned or not. But fortunately, he did save me some money by not having to make any new piercings and then took me back downstairs to get refunds which brings me back to why did I have to pay before the actual piercing? Again, the receptionists didn't seem to know what they were doing and they almost shorted me until I reminded them that I needed refunded for 2 charges that I had paid for before the actual piercing. I am giving this shop 3 stars because Moy obviously is very knowledgable about piercings and was able to save me from getting a new piercing and open the old holes. However, I was not impressed with his lack of investment in my history or the issue at hand or the receptionists at all. I have since gone to a different piercing shop and will not be back to this location. read more

From the girls at work that see it when I'm changing in the locker room and momentarily give me that bashful feeling like I'm a 13 year old boy in the locker room at PE, to a McDonalds drive through guy, to a staff member at the Botanical Gardens (and you KNOW those peeps know flowers), to a random tattooed stranger in the street (they have a bunch of tattoos and they like MINE?! cool!), to the manager at a gas station in the middle of rural Illinois at 12:30 at night (don't ask), I am CONSTANTLY getting complimented on my ink. Everyone is apparently impressed by the coloring and shading. One person pointed out that she liked the placement. But I will take credit for that, thankyouverymuch. Go get inked by Greg. I have much more experience here with piercings than tattoos, so that's mostly what this review will be about. Customer service is great. They actually listen to customers and work with them to achieve something that is a) possible given the individual's body/physiology, b) aesthetically pleasing, and c) within the customer's budget. I had most of my piercings done here by Stan and Jezebel and could not be happier. Aseptic technique is solid, and it's also nice that they have actual separate rooms rather than just curtain separators--it cuts down on the noise and gives it a more professional feel. They are slightly pricier than some other places in the area for piercing services (again, don't know about tattoos or upscale jewelry as I have not purchased either of those things), but this seems to be one of those cases where you get what you pay for. I did inquire about a tattoo here, however the artist I talked to was not very helpful or willing to work with me on designs, so I ended up going elsewhere. I think this is partly my fault: I went as a walk in (albeit at a non-peak hour) to see the artist currently in the shop, rather than making an appointment. I think if you want an "artist's choice" tattoo or something "textbook", doing a walk in here would be fine. However, if you have an involved idea or just want some space to think things through, you'd probably be best to look at their artists' portfolios and then make an appointment with one who matches your style. read more
