The first call to alert me I didn't see, but they called back in a few minutes and let us know that Donna was in. The shop is too cool, I mean look at that ceiling! Just an absolutely perfect tattoo experience. The shop is impeccably clean and every person on staff was so wonderful and welcoming and answered any and all questions. They take appointments, but we walked right in and they were able to accommodate us just a few minutes later after we filled out all the necessary paperwork. You fill it out online which is so nice and convenient and they also email you instructions on tattoo after-care, which I really appreciated. I can't recall the name of the gentleman who did my daughter's tattoo, but he was just lovely and gave her exactly what she wanted. She was so thrilled. She has several tattoos but the work from here is her favorite. AJ (August Jones) did my tattoo. My first ever! He was wonderful to work with- I told him what I wanted and he drew up a few ideas for me I could choose from. My piece is small, and it only took about 5 minutes- I couldn't believe it! AJ worked fast but he knew what he was doing and is so talented. I just cannot recommend this place more! thank u to this establishment for being available for me to successively execute my impulsive desires. popped in w a couple gal pals at 2 pm on a friday to get my doubles pierced. we were welcomed in and did the waiver via a QR code (so easy) and then went to the back room together. i wish i remembered the employees name but she did such a quick job it was barely painful at all. would def go back to her for my triples some day. came out to $80 (pre tip!!) for doubles with medium size studs which i think is on the pricier ends but worth the money for something like piercings maybe someday i'll try the tattoo side too;) read more

Chelsea did my nipple piercing for me, an already uncomfortable experience. She was very professional which I can appreciate, but it felt more cold than anything. She did not turn around for me to take my shirt off, nor did she provide an ounce of comfort when I said I was feeling super uncomfortable. Also, one of the bars is not straight through, but rather goes in at the bottom and comes out at the top of my nipple. read more

A long time ago, when I became a hockey fan I prayed to the hockey gods to let the Blues win the cup and stated I'd get the note tattooed on my person if such thing were to happen and this year, it did! Then it was time for me to be true to my word. I did some research and ended up coming here for my celebratory Blue note. I did a walk-in on a Sunday when they first opened. The place was busy and there were several people getting somewhat the same type of tattoo I was getting. Jim Little did mine. He printed different size of the Blue note for me to check out before proceeding. After I had decided on the size and the specifics, he put on the stencil and made sure I was happy with the location before working on the real thing. It took less than 30 minutes and I'm happy with his work. Keep in mind, I only got a small-ish note with the colors and reasonable details. It was $150 before tip which I thought was reasonable. Before check-out, he gave me his card and told me I can come in for free touch-ups if necessary. The place was clean and the staff were all professional. My experience here was overall, a great one. Everyone was friendly and I didn't feel weird at all being in a tattoo shop. This wasn't my first tattoo and might not be my last. As impressed as I was, I would definitely come back here and do recommend it to whoever is looking around for places who do body art work. read more

I had a great experience at this shop. The prices are decent, all of the staff is friendly and Trevor did an amazing job at my double helix piercing. There was no appointment necessary for a piercing and the whole process was super fast! I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. For those of you who want more details, brace yourself I'm about to write an essay: I called beforehand to ask if you can bring your own jewelry and the person who answered the phone was so polite and had great customer service skills, which I would never expect from a piercing/tattoo shop! If anything, his politeness is what made me decide I would go to this shop. By the way, you can bring your own jewelry, but it would take an extra 30 minutes for them to sanitize it. I ended up just using their individually-wrapped, pre-sanitized jewelry because with the jewelry it was only $30 per piercing! Great price!! Right when I walked in and mentioned piercing, Trevor was right there ready to help out. Literally, one second after I said the word piercing. With the phone call and that front desk experience, they were 2 for 2 with first impressions. You also pay afterwards which is nice. I've been to a shop where you pay upfront which makes it awkward for tipping if you don't know how they're going to do. I had a special request for Trevor to space the two hoop piercings so that they would eventually fit a spiral earring I had brought with me. After just glancing at a picture I showed him of what I was looking for, he knew exactly what I wanted and his placement was spot on. He even gave great advice when I wasn't sure if the marks should be moved lower or not. I put all my trust in his expertise and you all should too because he definitely knew what would look best. Only downsides are that my friend who I had brought with me wasn't allowed in the room with me because the room was small. That was the room for ear piercings at least. So, if you were wanting to bring someone with you to hold your hand (me, usually), maybe see if they have any larger rooms. My friend had to sit on a stool in the doorway. Afterwards, Trevor gave me an aftercare handout and wrote on there the saline solution he suggests that I get. He also offered to change my piercing to the spiral one in 4 months and I likely will! read more

i thought this would be a nice place to get pierced. I had gotten my nose, belly and my second ear piercing. firstly the belly piercing came out two days after and it was extremely painful. and my nose piercing also came out. I contacted the store and they told me I would have to pay more after paying over 200 dollars and their jewelry wouldn't stay in. now both my nose and belly piercings have closed! terrible service and would not return!!! read more

Living out of my home state, it's only a few times a year that I'm reunited with my sisters. While in STL the past weekend, we randomly decided to do something "spontaneous" and decided to get piercings. We checked yelp for the highest rated tattoo and piercing shop nearby and drove over around 5 PM on Saturday evening. We did not have an appointment but we were able be helped after a short 15-20 minute wait. Trevor, our piercer, was PHENOMENAL. He was so caring and professional, and totally calmed my middle sister down, who was having a mild freak out. We decided on cartilage piercings and he offered suggestions on earring sizes, the piercing placement, etc. Trevor chatted with us throughout the process and asked us about our lives. He was truly a pleasure! A short 20-25 min later we were on our way with our new piercings and aftercare recommendations from Trevor. My friend got a piercing here and because of the placement of the piercing, it caused an infection. The piercer did not seemed concerned that she caused this and she recommended waiting to see a doctor until a fever arose (which is very wrong and dangerous advice!). I had a rook piercing done by a the previous piercer here and decided it was a great experience and wanted to go back. I went in to get my 3rd done by Cait. It was a lobe piercing so it should have been easy. She was not talking to us about the process or answering our questions with much detail. On one of my ears, she hit cartilage while piercing. I was not warned that it was a possibility. The earring was on an angle, and because of that, the flat back caused a sore on the back of my ear. It got infected and I took it in for her to see. She told me it was fine and that was the only option. I had her take the piercing out. She said I should only worry if I got a fever (wrong! Don't wait until infections cause you a fever!). My other ear was fine but slowly began to swell. The lobe puffed up and I had to take out all my piercings. I developed a rash on and behind my ear. I think it's Cellulitis and I've been on antibiotics for a week. She also said that that piercing was fine. read more

I got a tattoo by Rob. I came in to check on the price beforehand & was quoted $200 by Rob himself. I made an appointment for the following week. I was pretty happy with the results but when checking out, I almost passed out when I was told to pay $400. I was shocked. I knew $200 was approximate and expected to pay $200-250 plus tip but never thought they'd double the price. After I went home, I contacted Rob via text to make sure I was charged correctly & he told me that it's $200/hr (something I was not told about beforehand) & since the tattoo took about 2 hrs, I was charged $400. Make sure you know how much you will be paying ahead of time. Although Im happy with the results, I would not have agreed to the tattoo had I known how much I was going to end up paying. I almost feel a bit taken advantage of. I took the time to drive out & get the estimate beforehand just to have the rug pulled out from under me at the last second. A bit disappointing. read more

I just went here to get 2 piercings in my cartilage. It's a really clean place, and the staff is so open to answering questions about how they clean and sterilize everything. Trevor did an amazing job! He worked really hard to get them exactly where I wanted and was so good and keeping the environment calm and relaxed. Went there to get my nose pierced, I walked in was pleasantly greeted. I was able to meet the piercer and talk about different sizes and material of studs. I chose the titanium which is $60. The process was really quick, my piercer I wish I knew his name adjusted all the comments regarding placement of the stud which I loved. The pain in a scale of 1-10 would probably be a hard 4, it was quick and almost near painless. After the initial piercing I was given a daily care sheet I was also told to get saline spray. I will be returning to get my Tragus pierced here. Great experience and price is great. !!! read more

Dra was great with my piercing. Made me comfortable and was super friendly. My piercing is slightly crooked but not super noticeable unless analyzed closely. But I'll say I waited hours for a tattoo and then was quoted a ridiculously high price for a minimalist tattoo. I will stick to my normal guy for tattoos, but piercings I would return. read more

First an over due review for a piercing I got here in 2010 - I had my nose pierced at All Star and kept the stud in for about three years. When I took it out the piercing hole closed and healed completely, you would have never known I had a nose piercing. I've seen some people with really gnarly scars after taking out a nose ring/hoop. Thanks guys for properly piercing my nose! Now, onto the tat - I got my second tattoo done here last night. Chris (I think? Beard and gauges?) did an awesome job. For a walk in I was seen pretty quickly, everyone was friendly, and the place was clean and all around had good vibes going on. Been coming here for years, and have gotten eight tattoos so far, and over twenty piercings from them. Super friendly staff that remember your name, very professional, and all the artists are great and actually work with you so you get what you want. Case in point, I originally went somewhere else to have a certain half-sleeve done. After the artist jerked me around and eventually said he couldn't do it (as well as telling me the reference picture I was showing him of the tattoo was done in sharpie, when it was actually fresh ink), it took me around a year to come to Allstar to get it done. I was hesitant after that last experience somewhere else, but there were no problems here. Years later, it still looks great.
