Fast service, detail oriented, clean and friendly staff. They closed the location I went to but I bet the same artists are still around

Got my ears pierced by Nick today, he was very thorough and informative, and the atmosphere was perfect for the chaotic adrenaline rush that comes with getting piercings/tattoos--serene and pleasant. Would definitely recommend. read more

I absolutely love this shop. I have about seven tattoos now and this place has to be my favorite. They are also kind and I love the atmosphere. They have a $100 shop minimum but when you take into account how much skill they have and how delicate and clean they all are, it's totally worth it!! they did my boyfriends tattoo as well and that also turned out amazing. I definitely recommend going to Matt C. especially if you're sensitive!! he's very gentle and he always gets the job done perfectly. He's a very kind person. Never any bad vibes!! Its only been a day and my tattoo is healing so fast. UPDATE!!: my tattoo was fully healed in 6 days but i did not stop aftercare right away. this was the best healing time yet! Decently priced, rad people, and super great art. Come here on Fri the 13th and get a $13 (plus $7 tip) tattoo. read more

This was half my fault: the artist with whom I worked was determined to infuse his own style on the tattoo I wanted. Having been brand new at tattoos, I didn't have the vocabulary to explain that the mock-up he showed me, and insisted I go along with, was not what I wanted. Several painful removal sessions later, I'm nowhere near done with this. read more

A few days ago, I got my first tattoo here, and I had an amazing experience. My girlfriend was with me, and I had decided that I was going to get a tattoo come hell or high water. (Keep in mind that it was 8:00 on a Saturday night AND there was a Cardinals game that had just ended.) About two hours prior, I had stopped in at TRX down the road, and they told me that they could not get me in, even though the tattoo I wanted was going to take five minutes. So, we grabbed dinner, and drove five minutes to Trader Bob's. Nash greeted us behind the counter, and we asked if they had any walk in time. He said since it was so late, someone might be able to get me in, but maybe not. We decided to stick around and wait. The whole time he was walking around and talking to the artists seeing how far along they were and if they'd have time for one more. Finally, Matt got me in. He was funny, he drew up exactly what I wanted, and got right down to business. Keep in mind, this was my very first tattoo, and I decided to get it on my ribs. He made me feel at ease and made me feel comfortable about being a tattoo virgin, and he kept me laughing, and even talked to my girlfriend while he was tattooing. The price was also super cheap. I only paid $50, the shop minimum, for my wonderful tattoo. I will definitely be returning for all my other ink. read more

This by far wasn't my first tattoo. I absolutely feel like everyone who is even thinking of getting a tattoo should come here. I was incredibly happy to be met with such radiant positivity and not an ounce of pretentiousness that can be present in some tattoo businesses. The woman working the front area checking everyone in was incredibly personable and kind. They followed strict COVID guidelines as well! We are not from St Louis, only here visiting, and wanted a quick flash tattoo. She brought out other options to look at other than the flash that was hanging on the walls. She asked questions and was genuinely interested in what we wanted to get. There was a man and also another guy (who had just turned 18) and they were both getting their first tattoos and she was so kind to them, answering any question they had. My friends and I each had different tattooers and they were SO FAST. I am so in love with the work they did for all three of us. The person I was working with even noticed I was wearing a nice shirt (this tattoo idea was last minute so I didn't have time to change) and he covered me up to make sure no ink got on my shirt. 100% recommend this shop!! read more

Customer service was poor. From how whoever it was I spoke with answered the phone to how she answered my questions was rude. It's been a long time since I've been treated like that as a customer. Will never be back, will never recommend. read more

I'm not sure how this gets five stars from so many reviews. The artists and chairs are packed like sardines. My girlfriend and I went in for matching tattoos. Our design was about as simple as can be (a circle with three arrows). The lines in my tattoo came out well, but I have never been gouged so deeply (and I have 7 tattoos). My girlfriend's tattoo came out sloppy (and it isn't exactly fixable). The guy who tattooed her was cracking jokes and entertaining the whole room. No wonder her lines weren't clean. The shop wasn't dirty, but it wasn't quite as pristine as other shops. I almost gave this place three stars because my tattoo looks good but I couldn't do it. read more

I am so impressed with Trader Bob's! My husband & I just walked in for two small tattoos, his first and my third, and we had such a good time. Their customer service is far better than any other tattoo shop I've gone to in the STL area. They are kind, they truly care about the tattoos they are putting on your body and they keep the process moving quickly without trying to rush you out the door. Ryan did my tattoo and was great! But special shoutout to Joey, who did my husband's, for just being a genuinely awesome person. We loved our experience, and highly recommend Trader Bob's! read more

These guys & gals are professionals and they're a bunch of great artists! This super clean shop is the place to go for great ink in St Louis! I've been to this shop for a couple of pieces with Alan...when he wasn't able to fit me in one day, he hooked me up with another artist (mike) and his work was phenomenal too! This is definitely my go to/recommended shop - if anyone asks where to go I'll be sending them to Trader Bobs! read more

Getting a tattoo, well, you're either going to be intimidated by the staff with their "hardcore ink" and feel like a poser. Or, you're going to say "you know what, I don't give a shit that I'm not getting a full sleeve of flaming skulls and naked chicks. This is about me. Suck my balls." At Trader Bob's, I expected to have the emotional outburst of the latter. But I didn't. Why? Because they're cool. And nice. And they can laugh and understand that there are people out there that don't contemplate their next tattoo like they're the Dalai Lama trying to achieve Nirvana. For some of us, we just randomly say to the spouse "write something on a piece of paper so I can have it inked on me." So thanks Rob - you're cool, you're understanding, and you did a great job. I'm happy and I'll be back. read more

Why this isn't the hottest tattoo shop on Yelp is ridiculous. Trader Bob's (and All-star, owned by the same people I do believe) does great work. I have zero complaints about my tattoo and experience:) My Advice: Go to Trader Bob's or All-Star...not: Iron Age, Diablo Ink, Full Spectrum(2) "Those who know go to Joe" read more

As a tattoo collector, I sought out Omar. This shop is an awesome street shop. Walk in or set an appointment. I get to many shops around the country and exceptions are high when you visit nationally known talent. This shop met all of it. From the interior wall art, the front desk guy, the music, the T Shirt and sticker swag, the artists attitude and most of all cleanliness. St Louis has a gem in this shop that hopefully gets utilized. My tattoo turned out excellent. What stuck out the most was just the overall friendliness of every artist that I came in contact with. Great shop, highly recommend this place. read more

Best tattoo place in St Louis!!! Why you ask? Because everyone is so nice and they all take the time to work with you !!! I was not sure what I wanted or where but Joey took the time to work with me and I felt was very sincere and honest!!! Had an awesome experience at Trader Bob's Tattoo Shop today! Really nice people & I love the job Billy did with my tattoo! Trevor was great about advising me as I decided what to get. Billy adeptly tattooed on a design I liked, worked quickly (super great as I'm not a big fan of pain lol) and accurately recreated the design with great attention to detail. He was also awesome about checking in with me to see how I was doing with the pain. And everyone was very professional in advising me how to take care of the tattoo. Great experience!! read more

Quite easily the friendliest tattoo shop I've ever been in, Trader Bob's was awesome. Everyone was smiling and happy as they worked. I had a quick tattoo done on my inner ankle and the price was fair and the artist worked with me quite a bit on ensuring it was exactly what I wanted.
