Consumerist magazine (not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports) calls Charter the "worst company in America." It's no wonder Charter went bankrupt a few years ago. This sleazy firm's business practices include: - cutting your satellite cable, then insisting that customer fight with Charter's 3rd party unlicensed contractor instead of honestly owning up to their mistake and correcting it. - moving your first bill due date ahead after first bill, without prior notification (told this is a "standard" Charter procedure on 2nd bill) - insisting that customers wait 45 days (unbelievable but true) for Charter's Autopay system to take effect, then warning that double payments may occur when customer attempts to make a one-time payment prior to the interim due date (as a safety measure) - moving from CSR agents in South Carolina to the Phillipines, where they lie to customers by claiming healthy account status with zero problems and confirming Autopay sign up weeks ago, then cutting off all services including (Emergency 911) shortly thereafter, without prior notice - migrating from helpful humans to speak with or chat online (about no-service issues) to worthless automated systems - poor no-service reliability I really wanted to love Charter. Our credit history is well above 700 and we always pay bills on time. But after several serious attempts to cooperate with Charter, acting as a good customer to straighten out their billing errors, all of our attempts have been futile. I recommend that prospective customers view the 800+ complaints about Charter on another website, plus other sites, before wasting your time. If you like unethical business practices, you'll love Charter!

We've been paying ever increasing rates for "up to 10MB" per our bill. All the customer service reps in Puerto Rico say our internal paperwork says we have only up to SIX mb. So we're paying for 10MB and 2 ports but have only 1 port and up to 6mb. We've repeatedly complained that A: every single day we have outages, lags and blurs if we attempt to use more than 1 device. B: with 1 device, we get 6mb maybe, sometimes. With 2 or more -- forget it -- we get 1mb or 2mb or maybe 3mb. They refused to send a tech out until finally today. We had finally reached a human being who listened and could see that we had only 1 port but needed 2. We waited all day for the local tech --- only to have him say the paperwork wasn't done correctly -- it should have been written up as a service call. He understood all about the port situation and said he'd speak with "Zach" in Hiawasee and Zach would get us squared away. Zach called us a short time later -- he is in BILLING! Not tech support so he was of no use to us and he transferred us back to Puerto Rico and the same useless tech support we have been dealing with over and over and over. We're calling a Star Link installer to meet with us next week at our home. It has been an absolute nightmare trying to get anywhere at all with Windstream and trying to get a technician to come out to see if there are any ports available now or to see if our installation was not done correctly. We have not gotten what we are paying for for 3 years now and feel like we are owed a gigantic credit.

I have been a customer of TruVista in Royston, Georgia, for only five months. Regrettably, I am already considering seeking an alternative internet service provider. Initially, my experience with TruVista was satisfactory until a single issue emerged. Despite the absence of inclement weather, such as storms or strong winds, the internet connection faltered on a day when the Southern heat peaked at 97 degrees Fahrenheit. The problem manifested gradually, with a noticeable decline in internet speeds far below the 250 Mbps I subscribed to, reaching a mere 25 Mbps. Initially attributing this to temporary technical difficulties, I hoped the issue would resolve itself. However, a week later, the internet service abruptly ceased for several hours. Having previously utilized Xfinity in an urban setting, I thought the issue was an outage that would soon be handled. Boy, was I wrong... I found myself without that alternative luxury in my current location. Subsequently, the situation worsened. Contacting their technical support yielded scripted instructions concerning modem diagnostics, coaxial cable checks, and troubleshooting protocols. Despite engaging with nine technical support agents, three customer service representatives, and four technicians across nine phone calls, the issue persisted. Upon eventually conversing with a service technician, the problem was identified as originating from the mainline box outside my residence. Although a resolution was attempted, the internet service continued to malfunction, recurring soon after the technician would leave. Subsequent calls to customer support only resulted in the promise of daily service credits while the problem persisted, inconveniencing those reliant on a stable connection for remote work. After persistent efforts, a proactive individual named Samantha liaised with supervisors, providing an update eight days post-initial contact. Contrary to claims of a widespread outage, the issue remained localized to the line outside my home, a matter unresolved by previous technician visits. In light of this experience, I recommend exploring alternatives to TruVista before committing to their service to avoid encountering similar challenges. read more

you are the worst cable company in the world i cant waitntil we switch. YOU have allowed every weekend to spoiln our tv family time once in a storm ok every weekend? when some lady is all alone in your phone center for problems she is so snoty, and unkind to your elderly if i worked like she did i would never have a job. We called from 3 am until now 6:59pm you need to tell her that this is why we are slow to pay. slow to give cable access slow to pay i mean every weekend? , she clearly is prejudice to elderly getting to watch church, My spouce almost died, I need the time from watching our only well respected pastor of the world, die, its like we lost a parent all over again.
