Hello, My name is John "Sketch" Kunkel. I'm an Artist by profession and certainly not a financial wiz by any stretch of the imagination. While talking to Lee, a work associate, I was introduced to the Truth-In-Equity program. He shared how he is paying down multiple loans and that he would be able to get completely out of debt much sooner than he could by trying to pay down conventional loans. I didn't understand the concept because it was so different from the normal way of doing things so I went out and refinanced my mortgage to get a 15 year fixed loan at 4.5%. It wasn't a real big effort, but it took a little while to collect the needed info. Man was it worth it. The result indicated that I could be debt free in 3 years and 8 months. I couldn't believe it. I thought, had I started this program 3 years ago instead of taking out a conventional loan, I'd be almost completely out of debt at this point. Another horrible thought was that almost all of the money paid toward my conventional loan over the past 3 years was almost all interest. I began the Truth-In-Equity program and in 2 1/2 years, I found myself sitting in a Financial Advisor's office talking about retirement. After showing him our financial info, he said that we were good to go for retirement. The amount we were able to save in interest and the equity built up has made it possible for us to pay cash for a retirement home in Myrtle Beach, SC. and after we sell our home in Fairfax, VA, I will be able to retire and not have to worry about a mortgage payment each month. Wow, had I stayed with a conventional loan, I would still have 150 payments ahead of me in order to become debt free. If you are asking yourself if you should use this program, I would tell you that it's a no brainer unless you enjoy giving your hard earned money to a rich mortgage company. On my mortgage contract, I have a 2.5% interest rate. But I looked at my statement and saw half of my mortgage payment was interest. My 2.5% interest rate was only used in the amortization equation to spread my payments over 30 years. In the past 13 years, I had paid $10,000 in principal payments and barely reduced the number of months left on the life of my mortgage. I logged onto the company's website and scheduled an appointment to talk to someone about putting this strategy into action for myself. I spoke to David Welles. He and Bill Westrom are cut from the same cloth, down, to earth, plain spoken, and committed to helping me employ their strategy to rapidly pay off my mortgage. That was four months ago. Everything they told me was has worked. They have both stayed in touch with me helping me through taking steps to most effectively use the strategy. We have been using this program since 2011, and we would recommend this to anyone who takes their financial situation seriously. We are average, middle class people, middle age, and haven't inherited money from previous generations, ( nor do we expect to) and haven't won a lottery... My wife and I bought our first home about 9 months ago and I had heard about truth in equity on the internet. I was skeptical that the program would work for us since we had no equity in our home yet. But I was wrong, doing things a little different with a personal line of credit that our financial adviser from truth and equity recommended us. Truth in Equity has been a fantastic resource for me. I originally got into my HELOC because I wanted to pay my home off. However, the true benefit for me has been being my own lender for a car, some property, and an RV. I could have paid off my home quickly and was given the numbers for a 5 year payoff by Lauren, my then financial consultant, but I have since decided to use my equity for the things I want. The money is paid back quickly. I don't totally understand this, but it has worked flawlessly for 6 years. I started my loan with truth in equity three years ago and it has worked just the way it was explained to me by my adviser, which at the time seamed to good to be true. My wife & I have been able to reduce your mortgage principle by over $70,000.00 and buy a new vehicle & pay cash for it. The vehicle was not in the plan when we started the process. That will add a year to your payoff plan but we will still have your mortgage paid off in a little over 6 years. After listening to the stories on a local radio station for 2 years, we finally filled out the profile. Excellent program! Based on their financial analysis of my data, TIE told me I'd pay off my mortgage in 5 years and 1 month. I actually paid it off two months early.
