Although I still don't trust them enough to have my livelihood go straight into their bank, I decided to keep the account open. It comes in handy for things like depositing small checks for my sons when they get paid or someone sends them a check for their birthday or Christmas. I also deposit cash so I can use my Trustmark card for online purchases and paying for gas, to help prevent my household account from cyber-hacking.
The prior issue was resolved earlier than anticipated. After speaking with someone I assume was the branch manager, I was able to get a letter from my employer's bank stating that my payroll check had cleared their account and I obtained access to my money within a few days. Although that was an unnecessary amount of trouble, I appreciate the fact that they informed me it was an option. Since that time, the employees at this branch have always been friendly, pleasant and helpful. The drive-thru lines are never long, which is nice considering I'm usually pressed for time.
Also, Trustmark's ATM fee is only $3.00 for non-Trustmark accounts, which is very reasonable compared to a few other banks nearby. read more
