Never have to wait for an appointment. They have Telehealth services. That is a great service especially when you have to drive to the appointment. You can do it at home with complete privacy. My medication is taken care of and refilled quickly. I highly recommend this practice for all Mental Healthcare. You will not be disappointed or judged! Keep up the great services.

This practice has gone 100% downhill since Dr. Carla Warren left (suddenly, and without any…read moresemblance of a warm handoff). Something catastrophic must have happened for her to leave so suddenly, because she was so much more professional and ethical than to leave her clients in that manner. She was so kind and attentive, and worked hard to fine tune the meds I was taking. Now, I have probably spoken to four different providers in the last 8 months to a year or so--honestly I've lost count, there's very little continuity. The front desk staff is friendly and they are doing their best to do their jobs, but Dr. Cantrell is cold and uncaring. My medications were unnecessarily changed twice in the last 6 months, causing me undue distress. I think that this is partly due to the high turnover of providers at this practice and lack of rapport that comes with seeing the same provider month after month. And then, I had to FIGHT to get the office to complete a simple three-page document so I can be cleared to work. TL;DR--they refused to do it. Well, Cantrell refused. I would also be remiss to fail to mention this comprises at least 80% yes/no questions and a signature at the bottom. The new employer said that this had never happened before, and was accommodating enough to be willing to accept a letter from Centerway that simply stated that they will not/cannot fill out the form for whatever reason. Again, Cantrell refused this request. This was urgent and he refused to even speak with me when I called about this matter, although my livelihood was on the line. I spent two weeks patiently playing a prolonged game of telephone between myself, his office assistants, and Cantrell--trying to come to a satisfactory resolution. I finally requested to speak to Cantrell directly, and was stymied again. I wish he would have taken the time to speak to me so we could problem solve together. It really shows how much he does not care about his patients, he won't take a few minutes to speak to you about issues that arise. The office manager, Amanda, was helpful at first, but she has since disappeared from this conversation as well. I was not trying to be contentious at all, but I consider his responses to me to be hostile. I fear that my persistence has been misread as me becoming a threatening, angry Black guy, who he doesn't want to face. It would not be surprising if he tried to "fire" me as a client due to this before the dust even settled. I have zero desire to continue to be seen here, so I found a new provider rather than giving him the satisfaction of releasing me from their care. I spent my hard earned money for lackluster service, and Cantrell can't be arsed enough to return a phone call. I cannot emphasize this enough: do not waste your time or money becoming a client here. In my search for a new psychiatrist, no fewer than three medical professionals told me "Yeah, I don't recommend Centerway anymore." If you want a psychiatrist who thinks they know what's best for you, even if it's contrary to your initial treatment plan/what has worked for you for years, this is your guy. The opacity of his practice is unacceptable. His ego has made him as stubborn as a mule. I have a good idea as to why the practice cannot keep good practitioners on staff for more than a few months. Dr. Warren probably dealt with malarkey for years. Cantrell doesn't care about you; he wants your money.

When psychiatrists know that medicine for specific types of disorders are TIME SENSITIVE, but don't call back or give any updates legit for a WEEK leaving a patient without medicine...that is POOR service and actually doing a DISSERVICE. We will be switching providers soon. And judging from reading another review this happens often of the office just not answering. Do NOT recommend this place.

With what could've been an incredible mess regarding insurance companies and their payment, they've made it so easy on me! It's strange to feel underinsured when one is overinsured. My bride's healthcare policy happens to be my secondary as I am disabled and Medicare is my primary provider. However (prepare for curveball). The provider, while the primary provider does accept Medicare - my provider is not seen as acceptable by Medicare's standards so Medicare does not pay anything. This triggers my secondary, which is billed here as my primary (see above paragraph). They will not pay simply because my primary has not paid. In conversation they say they need a letter of denial of service (which Mt. P Psychiatry does accept, but my individual provider cannot) which isn't true and cannot be provided as the entire operation operates under one tax code. So now I am to look through my summaries of service from Medicare and send them to my secondary insurance so they will be informed that in this case - they are my primary and will pay for all of the services going forward as well as those which have previously been denied. Wow. I'm not a lawyer, this stuff makes my head swim and is all the more reason to need to have my head shrunken further. Yikes. Have a pleasant day.

Today was my first time visiting, but not the first time our Kid had been here. A year ago he was…read morehere and expressed nothing but love for the place; he enjoyed group and the nurses. He enjoyed the food and the friends he'd made. This time I was able to see it with my own eyes. He is out of danger and is safe and is happy. He will be coming home after 7 days and with an Rx for his improved emotional state. What impresses me about this facility is the contact from the psychiatrist and his therapist with us. We live a few hours away and the contact from the place is paramount because we obviously want him safe, well, and happy and we cannot see to it daily because we ARE so far away. Seeing him today and interacting with the Nurses (and their abundance of caution due to the flu) and their (and our) wearing masks as we entered his unit was nice. Seeing the kid's schedule on the board was nice. Seeing how they were going to go outside today (80+ degrees and sunny) made me happy. Now, in general, and for our purposes; This is a temporary psychiatric facility. This is not a Sleepaway Camp or a Necessarily Permanent Fix Department but an Emergency Room - so to speak - for Mental Health. I understand that perceptions vary and sometimes, we are all human, and can get a negative experience so entrenched that it is nearly impossible to see it any other way. Fortunately, both times we have not had that experience and neither has our Kid. Both times has has come back with a renewed outlook and so much lighter in spirit. The Doctors, Therapists, Nurses, in our two experiences with this facility, are caring and are on top of things. I *would* deduct a 1/2 star for the following - except that keeping our Kid safe, their staying in touch with us, and helping him is the most important so I am not - but I hope someone takes this into consideration. We traveled this morning about 2.5 hours to make it in time for 12:15 visitation. We signed in and it was 12:12. Receptionist said, "I'll let you head back in a few minutes." (We have to walk across campus to another Unit that takes a minute or two but okay.) No problem. What do we know? So we sat down. We waited. At 12:19, with increasing anxiousness, we were becoming annoyed. My husband went to the Receptionist and asks, "Is visitation being cut short for some reason today?" She responded, "Oh I'm sorry. You can head back. I forgot you were there." She had one job; We were the only people in there!

The nurses and have continuously told me she is not better, but they call and say she's coming home today. Doctors say she is fine and they are sending her home. Waste of time and money, and yet here I am left alone to deal with this again. Not easy living with someone with major mental health issues. Would never send her here again.

The average wait time for me is 45 minutes. I've seen him for over a year so I feel I have a good basis for giving a review. I also tried seeing one of the counselors in the office - tried that 2 times - she was late both times - but she walked in with her coffee in hand so thank goodness she had her priorities straight! She talked WAY WAY too much! I never got to say anything! And all she had to say was the EXACT same crap all the other cognitive behavioral therapists say - you might as well buy a book or a robot that says those things - NO PERSONAL TOUCH and NO LISTENING whatsoever. After about a year I was asked by one of the anonymous staffers (anonymous because they never greet you, never introduce themselves, don't wear nametags, ignore you when you sign in, are rude on the phone and in person) asked me to provide a specimen for drug testing for "compliance" ...... because I take an anti depressant .... seriously? Then she tried to say that the ambien I take (and have been taking for 2 yeas) is a stimulant.... is his staff really that stupid??? Then she tried to be conspiratorial and ask "what drugs do you take"? I was also a patient when they moved offices and they did just up and move with no warning or notice to anyone. I showed up for an appointment one day and had to ask the construction workers at the old office what was going on. Talk about rude and unprofessional. But even after all that, it's the 1-2 hour wait times I just can't take anymore. Dr. Fermo also spends way more time looking at his computer during his appointment than actually talking to the patient and must take piss poor notes because he makes references to misinformation from one appointment to the next.
