Showed him our ideas and waited over two hours just to see a first sketch, which wasn't that impressive. I asked for changes to the lettering and got an eye roll. And that wasn't the only eye roll. I just wasn't feeling the lettering and also asked if I could have the moon be a bit bigger. Rolled eyes again. So I asked if I was irritating him and he said I was "nit-picking" and "reaching"; and he "had a long day ahead". Seemed like he basically, just wanted to get us done with no concern for what we wanted. So, after three hours we left with no tattoos. Not to mention, shop and bathroom were dirty. I don't know if he was just having a bad day or what, but it was a bad experience.

We stopped by this tattoo shop over the weekend to check out the museum. The displays could have…read morebeen better labeled, but at least Elyse was kind enough to give us a quick tour before we explored a bit on our own. Lots of cool and interesting artifacts and exhibits to see. The work of some of their tattoo artists, as well as circus and sideshow art, including a famous sword swallower. No photos are allowed in the back rooms which include cultural pieces and photography, miniature sculptures of 20th century tat equipment, and a section for tattoos without consent (i.e. japanese punitive tats and those used during the reign of hitler and the holocaust). Note, they don't really honor their listed hours, meaning they may close more than an hour early or the door may be locked midday with a note that they will return hours later. I'm not a fan of unreliable hours being communicated with the public. But I do appreciate that it's free to visit the museum.

I drive 6 hours just to see her because I honestly do not trust anyone else with my skin anymore. The art she makes is absolutely beautiful! I told him what I was looking to get and where I wanted my tattoo located. He asked questions and after that found the artist best for what I was looking for. Being I wanted black and gray he suggested Som. Set up an appointment for like a week out and asked if I'd drop of a deposit. Finally came the day to get my tattoo, I met with Som and we went over my tattoo I let him know it was for my sister, and he came up with a bad ass design and her nick name. Som is a super cool dude and even with a guy with anxiety put me at ease and we chopped it up during the tattoo. The rest of the staff were super friendly as well. Once Som was done I was blown away by his work, even a day later I keep looking at his work and and super happy. I have plenty of tattoos on me, and Soms work stands out. I showed my sister and she definitely wants to come in when she's in town. I will definitely be back, the rest of the staff was friendly as well, everyone at least said hi as I walked by.
