I told him what I was looking to get and where I wanted my tattoo located. He asked questions and after that found the artist best for what I was looking for. Being I wanted black and gray he suggested Som. Set up an appointment for like a week out and asked if I'd drop of a deposit. Finally came the day to get my tattoo, I met with Som and we went over my tattoo I let him know it was for my sister, and he came up with a bad ass design and her nick name. Som is a super cool dude and even with a guy with anxiety put me at ease and we chopped it up during the tattoo. The rest of the staff were super friendly as well. Once Som was done I was blown away by his work, even a day later I keep looking at his work and and super happy. I have plenty of tattoos on me, and Soms work stands out. But it's been over 10 years since I've had a piercing and I was really anxious about it. I'm part of a local moms group on Facebook, and when the question is always posed for a good piercer in town, everyone always raves about Karissa at Avenue tattoo and how awesome and good she is at piercing!!! So I knew that's who I wanted to go to!! I've been toying with the idea for months but keep chickening out. But yesterday, I decided on a whim to go there so I just walked in. She was busy at the moment doing another piercing but the front desk girl was able get me in an hour later so I just went to target and shopped around while I was waiting. I was super nervous and anxious about it but she was so kind, calm and welcoming. She's also just a super cool person and easy to talk to, so it was a good distraction while she was getting everything ready. She was very gentle , clean and thorough. Explaining the process and everything she was doing as she was doing it. Her calm, welcoming personality really helped my anxiousness and ease my mind. She did the piercing and it was SO quick, barely hurt!! She put the jewelry in and I was done. She explained the healing and care process very thoroughly. The whole process from walking in, to paying and leaving, was 15mins tops!!! Prices are very reasonable! Basic jewelry was included with price but I paid a little extra for a gem. I'll go back in 2 months to see how it looks/if it's healing good and change the length of the bar if needed. I highly recommend Karissa to anyone who wants a piercing!!! she also does younger kiddos ears too!! I'd totally take my young daughter to her in a heartbeat if she wanted her ears pierced!!! Karissa did the piercing. It was almost painless! She was friendly, assuring me each step of the way. I'll go back to her in a couple of months to have the piercing stud removed, and my own earring put in this process makes healing easier and safer. I'm already thinking of other piercings! I'll never go anywhere else. And by the way, I'm 75 years old.

It's an amazing, creative piece that I am beyond thankful for-- Brant also took the liberty of making the piece universal so that it could eventually be worked into a much larger piece (a full sleeve even). I am definitely going to be coming back to allow him the opportunity to take some elements and run with the idea because his talent speaks for itself. The shop is clean, there is literally a bunch of work all over the shop, and Brant posts his pieces to Facebook all the time. Brant also made sure to tell me that I may come back after my tattoo heals if there is any area that requires a touch-up or something I may want fixed up a bit-- true customer service. Additionally, my experience with Nate (maybe a year or so ago) was fantastic, and he too took the liberty of personalizing my tattoo to my tastes and fixed up a tattoo I had gotten previously. You can literally do no wrong with either artist, and I know that I have my two guys for any in-town pieces. Not to mention the fact that both Nate and Brant are very easy-going, make for good conversation, and are all about working within your budget (if you have one), and making sure you're satisfied. So I asked if I was irritating him and he said I was "nit-picking" and "reaching"; and he "had a long day ahead".
