I told him what I was looking to get and where I wanted my tattoo located. He asked questions and after that found the artist best for what I was looking for. Being I wanted black and gray he suggested Som. Set up an appointment for like a week out and asked if I'd drop of a deposit. Finally came the day to get my tattoo, I met with Som and we went over my tattoo I let him know it was for my sister, and he came up with a bad ass design and her nick name. Som is a super cool dude and even with a guy with anxiety put me at ease and we chopped it up during the tattoo. The rest of the staff were super friendly as well. Once Som was done I was blown away by his work, even a day later I keep looking at his work and and super happy. I have plenty of tattoos on me, and Soms work stands out. I showed my sister and she definitely wants to come in when she's in town. I will definitely be back, the rest of the staff was friendly as well, everyone at least said hi as I walked by.

I'm part of a local moms group on Facebook, and when the question is always posed for a good piercer in town, everyone always raves about Karissa at Avenue tattoo and how awesome and good she is at piercing!!! So I knew that's who I wanted to go to!! I've been toying with the idea for months but keep chickening out. But yesterday, I decided on a whim to go there so I just walked in. She was busy at the moment doing another piercing but the front desk girl was able get me in an hour later so I just went to target and shopped around while I was waiting. I was super nervous and anxious about it but she was so kind, calm and welcoming. She's also just a super cool person and easy to talk to, so it was a good distraction while she was getting everything ready. She was very gentle , clean and thorough. Explaining the process and everything she was doing as she was doing it. Her calm, welcoming personality really helped my anxiousness and ease my mind. She did the piercing and it was SO quick, barely hurt!! She put the jewelry in and I was done. She explained the healing and care process very thoroughly. The whole process from walking in, to paying and leaving, was 15mins tops!!! Prices are very reasonable! Basic jewelry was included with price but I paid a little extra for a gem. I'll go back in 2 months to see how it looks/if it's healing good and change the length of the bar if needed. I highly recommend Karissa to anyone who wants a piercing!!! she also does younger kiddos ears too!! I'd totally take my young daughter to her in a heartbeat if she wanted her ears pierced!!! I just wasn't feeling the lettering and also asked if I could have the moon be a bit bigger. Rolled eyes again. So I asked if I was irritating him and he said I was "nit-picking" and "reaching"; and he "had a long day ahead". Seemed like he basically, just wanted to get us done with no concern for what we wanted. So, after three hours we left with no tattoos. Not to mention, shop and bathroom were dirty. I don't know if he was just having a bad day or what, but it was a bad experience.

I'm standing on my leg 4 days post surgery for my cancer. I have spent well into 20k for my tattoo's as well as for the artist well known arcoss the world in the tattoo industry, Julio contributes time to traveling and panel judge for World Wide Ink Tattoo Shows his knowledge and experience. Today being on a lil get away and being In a much neexed mood for ink therapy. Willing to try different shop and artist, I left very shocked of how my time or money was not considered. The shop is clean, but there's a looming unwelcoming feeling all from the owner. He talks down to clients when scheduling, didn't talk to me during my tattoo, commented to my sister about my stretch-marks, which is widely inappropriate. I provided him with an outline, and he butchered it; pressed so hard that parts of the line work is bleeding into the skin around it and extremely shaky lines. Not to mention the shop minimum is $80 and my sister paid that amount of a tattoo the size of a dime.
