they don't even deserve one star, over paid them due to their mistake (said owner washed my check…read morein his pants) and me being an older single female I didn't question it.. but now they won't pay it back..I've called, I've texted...nothing but cricket...now I'm questioning if I even needed a furnace at all or they just took advantage of me...it was over $200.00 mistake on their part..so I really hope they choke on the money they took from me...was a loyal customer..now I'll tell anyone and everyone NOT to use this company!!!BEWARE

Called on Monday morning because my NEST thermostat started saying no power to Rh wire, they were…read moreable to come out the same day about 8 hours later so that was nice. The first place I called couldn't get anyone out until the next day. Rich came out, charged us $125 and said it was the circuit board for the furnace. He didn't have one with him, he would need to order the part and he would call me in the morning after 9:00 AM. It sucked he didn't have the part, but I understand. The next morning came and went, and I called early afternoon to find out what was going on. Rich said he would call to find out the status of the part and call me, a few minutes later he said they had the part, and someone would be on-site before 6:00 PM, the guy apparently went to the wrong place and showed up at my house a few minutes after I talked to Rich - yay me? - not so much. The guy replaced the circuit board but said the furnace wasn't getting power and he needed to leave to get a Multimeter. That was odd because the night before Rich said the fuse on the circuit board was sparking at him. Whatever, the guy leaves and comes back. I could hear him in the basement coughing, I sent my wife a text message about how much he was coughing - we have a house full of high-risk adults and kids, so we take stuff like that seriously. The guy comes up and says it's all fixed and it's $650 (including the original $125 from the night before). I set the NEST to cool, turn it down to 70 and we leave to take the kids to karate. We come home and the house is now 80, the NEST wasn't controlling anything - I told the NEST to turn the furnace off and it continued to run. We had to turn it off at the furnace. I called Rich, told him what was going on and of course no one could make it back out tonight, but someone will be at my house between 11:00 AM and 1: 00 PM tomorrow. So now we're into Wednesday, it's after 1:00 PM and I call Rich to find out what's going on. He tells me the guy who was at my house yesterday called in sick today because he's coughing and vomiting - outstanding! I ask him if it's COVID, he then tells me that he doesn't think so "one of the girls in the office had something and now we all have a cough". Seriously?! ARE YOU SERIOUS? You know you're sick, you know your staff is sick and you're sending them into people's homes unmasked? So, Rich tells me the story about how he's now picking up all the jobs this guy was working on, and he could try to be here between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Rich came out but before he came in, he ran my credit card and charged me $675.94 which was frustrating because the invoice said $650 but I was also just tired of all of the BS and wanted it fixed. He then spent several hours, and eventually got everything working again - only for it to stop working again a few days later. I tried to call Rich back, calls went directly to voicemail and the voicemail box was full. I eventually called Vredevoogd. They came out, said it looks like A-OK didn't replace the board at all - not a surprise because it stopped working a few days after Rich left and went AWOL. Do NOT trust this man or this company, he is the most dishonest person I have ever met!

The worst experience I've ever had with any tradesman or contractor. In fact, Frook is so bad they…read moretook their own business listing off Google because the negative reviews were so overwhelming. Frook was hired by my maintenance team to fix a leaky water shut-off valve. Upon inspecting the plumber's work my team found that not only had Frook installed the valve incorrectly, but they dribbled hot solder on the wall and floor, ruining both the paint and carpet. I personally contacted the owner of Frook Plumbing who, after dodging my calls for several weeks, said he would "come out and take a look." Many weeks and many follow-up calls later and he's never shown up or spoken to me again. My team and I finally gave up, patched the wall ourselves, repaired the carpet ourselves, and had another company fix the water valve. Absolutely outrageous. Never use Frook Plumbing.

Frook Plumbing is a smaller local plumbing company we have used on several previous occasions. They…read morehad always seemed responsive, knowledgeable, and we had been satisfied with their work. This review is an exception to that story. I reached out to the business to discuss the following situation with them, and not only did they not apologize for their error, neither did they seem to appreciate my feedback or that I had brought it to their attention. A more genuine response that at least accepted responsibility might have avoided this post altogether. ------------------ We have an older home, built in 1928 or 1929. It has been loved and well maintained. We decided to update the upstairs bathroom faucet to one more consistent with the age and style of the house. We had Frook plumbing install it. Following the faucet installation, the hot water had very low pressure and made a whistling sound within a few seconds of the water coming out hot. I imagined the worst and put off having it looked at. Recently, I finally had them come back to look at it. They determined that the hot water supply pipe to the faucet (behind the walls) had become too calcified and was restricting water flow. (Question: But why so suddenly after merely changing out the faucet?) They surmised this would be consistent throughout all the water supply lines for the second floor bathroom (shower, toilet, sink). Their recommendation was to replace all water supply lines servicing the second floor bathroom, from the basement up. Since they would be cutting out large sections of the plaster walls anyway to do that, they also recommended replacing the house main cast iron stack from the basement up. Oh, and we should also replace the water heater (which wasn't new when I moved in 26 years ago). Just replacing the water heater and all the water supply lines in the basement alone was going to cost a minimum of approx. $5,000. On top of that would be the costs of cutting floor to ceiling vertical sections of the plaster walls in the living room on the first floor and as needed upstairs for the bathroom, and replacing that piping. That could be another $5,000 or more. That pricing excluded the costs of repairing the plaster walls when they were finished (plaster and paint). The total job would almost certainly have exceeded $10,000, if not closer to $15,000 or more. Given the size, scope and likely cost of the circumstances, I decided it would be wise to at least get a second opinion and estimate. I solicited recommendations on our neighborhood group Facebook page. One name was mentioned more than once with great accolades. I arranged for him to come and check it out. All I mentioned to him was the symptom...that since another plumbing company had installed the new faucet the hot water pressure was low, and it whistled. I made no mention of who the other plumbing company was or their diagnosis. TRUE STORY: He got down and looked underneath the sink and identified the REAL problem in less than 30 seconds. New Diagnosis: In installing the flexible water supply lines from wall to the faucet, Frook Plumbing had twisted and wrapped them in such a way that they had become crimped/partially obstructed, perhaps in trying to hide them from view in the case of a pedestal sink. Action: The second plumber replaced the two flexible supply lines. Result: Back to normal water pressure and no whistling. Cost: 30 minutes and $140! Oh... and he recommended NOT replacing the water heater because it is glass-lined! Instead, just install a leak sensing device around the base. I had hoped Frook plumbing would at least be receptive to my constructive feedback on their error, if not also reimburse me for the added expense of fixing it. Had that happened, I would have considered using them again and would not have posted this review. I was sorry that did not happen. Affirmation: When in doubt get a second opinion!
