He knew just what to do, had the parts in his truck and started working. After replacing the upper and lower controllers and heating elements, the water heater is new again, Greg said it just needed a tune-up. This was a no BS repair, done in an hour and fairly priced. Would not hesitate to call Greg again should the need arise.

They quoted me $85 via text to check a…read morebubbling toilet, but after a quick examination that took less than five minutes--just flushing two toilets--we were told the issue was a "soft clog" that had fixed itself. The plumber spent the rest of his time chatting about everything from his wife's toilet paper usage to suggestions for a bidet. He then went outside and had me flush all 3 toilets while he watched the drain, again saying it fixed itself. To my shock, the bill came to $179, nearly $100 more than quoted! I feel completely taken advantage of--was I really charged for the time spent in conversation and flushing a few toilets? If it was $179, quote us that beforehand. If it's $93 extra for me to flush my toilets, let us know that, so at least we have the option to agree or not. When I called to express my concerns, the response was lackluster. I was told the economy is bad, which is no excuse for poor communication and pricing practices. (But also, the owner so concerned about the economy and paying their employees was on vacation!) It would have been nice to know beforehand that they charged by the 15-minute increments; had I known, I would have cut the visit short after the initial flush. If you consider using Loftin Plumbing, make sure you get a detailed cost breakdown upfront and be prepared to watch the clock! Their so-called "great" customer service didn't do a thing to alleviate my disappointment. I definitely do not recommend this company based on my experience.

Now…read morelet me tell you that people rarely take the time to leave reviews unless something goes wrong so take what the previous person said with a grain of salt. I read reviews constantly if I'm shopping for a product or using a service; in this day and age you pretty much have to. I've gone there three times for just a few cheap parts so take what I'm about to say for what it is, which is stellar customer service. I'm not a contractor so I'm not spending a lot of money, so their motivation to please is genuine. I was working on a leaky kitchen faucet a few blocks down from the store and it was just kickin my @##. I invested close to 6 hours trying to get that dang leak to stop. I'm a handyman so I'm pretty good at fixing things but with this, I met my match. The owner, Larry, was so willing to help me solve the problem while I was in the store. We tried replacing the cartridge ($20) and the seals (he gave me for free). Went back and went to work to no avail. If I coulda thrown the thing out the window I woulda. I called at about 4:50 to try to speak to Larry but he wasn't available so I asked the gentleman on the phone if he had any techs that might be able to help me troubleshoot the problem and he referred me to Terry, the service manager (Not a technician). I spoke to Terry and told him my dilemma and he asked me where the property was and I told him and he said he'll right there. This 60+ year old man hopped in his truck and buzzed down to help. He got there, worked on it for about 30 minutes and couldn't get the leak to stop so he went back to the store to grab another part. He came back and worked on it for another 10 minutes. No luck. He then called Larry (the owner) and explained the situation and Larry came by too and together, after about 30 more minutes of working on that #$%#%$, they got it fixed. Thinking surely I was gonna get raked for needing two people to fix it, I asked what the damage was and Larry said "Don't worry about it". Huhhhh. I didn't think I heard him correctly. They refused to take any money. Terry lives more than an hour away and Larry came by to help after business hours and didn't even charge me for nearly an hours worth of work. If you find any company that would do that, you better not lose their number. I will continue to use them and I will refer people to them because they went above and beyond when there was not motivation to. Amazingly friendly guys and very knowledgeable. A couple of months ago, I noticed my water bill creeping up, and by February it had nearly doubled. Around the same time, the floor under my kitchen sink felt warm, which shouldn't happen. After checking the water meter with everything turned off, it was clear I had a leak. I searched for a plumber experienced with this type of issue and found $89 Leak Detection in Largo. They responded quickly and scheduled me for the next day. Using their equipment, they identified the likely leak under the sink and walked me through several repair options: jackhammering the terrazzo under the sink, re-piping just the hot water line, or re-piping the entire house. They were very upfront about the pros and cons of each option, especially given the age of my pipes. I never felt pressured, just well informed. After thinking it through, I decided on a full home re-pipe to avoid future issues and potential damage to my floors. Even while I was deciding, they provided helpful guidance (like shutting off the hot water when not in use), which gave me peace of mind. They also recommended replacing my 18-year-old water heater and offered a discounted price since the re-piping work was already underway. When it came time for the work, Corey and Gary showed up on time and worked extremely hard over several days. What really stood out was how well they managed the project: * I was never without water * They worked efficiently in a very hot attic * They kept everything clean and organized * They protected my home with coverings * They handled the permitting process, and everything passed inspection on the first try Overall, I couldn't be happier. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with from start to finish. I now have peace of mind with a 25-year warranty, and I would absolutely recommend $89 Leak Detection to anyone dealing with a leak or considering a re-pipe.
