My son had a 12:45 appointment, and by 1:15, we still hadn't been called back or given any explanation for the delay. When I politely approached the front desk to ask about the situation, a receptionist who identified herself as "Ang" responded with an astonishing level of rudeness and dismissiveness, including asking me, "Have you never had to wait at a clinic?" Eventually, someone from the care team came out and apologized, explaining that a post-operative appointment had run longer than expected. I completely understand that delays happen in healthcare, but failing to communicate those delays and then treating patients disrespectfully for asking about them is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse. My son had previously been told he would receive follow-up information about whether surgery might be necessary. That follow-up never happened, forcing him to schedule this appointment himself. After finally being seen today, he returned to the car nearly in tears. He hadn't even seen the physician he was expecting to see, and instead was essentially told that previous treatments hadn't worked and they weren't sure what to do next. He was then told he would need to return again next week to actually see the physician, with the added warning that they would probably be running late for that appointment too. That last comment speaks volumes about an organization that apparently recognizes its scheduling problems but considers them something patients should simply accept. What should have been an appointment to get answers about a potentially serious medical decision turned into an exercise in frustration, poor communication, and questionable continuity of care. Patients deserve better, especially when they're already dealing with stressful medical circumstances. OCR needs to take a serious look at its scheduling practices, front-desk professionalism, and, most importantly, how it communicates with and cares for its patients.

As an avid marathon runner this was devastating in a lot of ways. Dr A quickly diagnosed that my pain was coming from nerves in my back, and that I had the beginning of osteoarthritis in the knee. On his recommendation I had a PRP injection in my knee and Wow! I can run again without shooting pain and my daily activities have improved dramatically. The procedure was easy and quick, took less than 30 minutes and afterward I didn't need crutches or anything like that. He told me that he typically had "80% improvement for 80% of the people he treated. My first session of stem cell injections, with stem cells (he said) taken from my blood, along with hyaluronic acid as I recall, cost me $6,260. My next session, on June 30th, cost me another $6, 250. On July 7, I paid $1,300 for a "Plasma Rich Protein" injection, supposedly to stimulate cellular production. I continued regular treatments over the next 10 months, with payments totaling $ 18,493.00. When I was last in his office about a month ago, I stood at his receptionist's window waiting patiently while four chattering women chattered at a back desk, ignoring me. I finally got their attention, apparently making them mad, because one of them told the Dr. that I had "touched her shoulder". Well, that's possible . . . when I am talking with people, men or women, I will often touch them during the conversation. So, I can not dispute that. But I say "big deal". Anyway, after that session (for which he dinged me ANOTHER $1,625), he told me that although "he liked me" (I guess so!), he wouldn't see me again because I had "touched his employee's shoulder". I call BS! He had done all he could with his bogus stem cell injections (STILL not FDA approved, because "the cells may mutate which could cause tumors") Gulp! But he does them anyway. And now I see his method: Milk the poor sap with the hurting knees, shoulder, whatever, for all he can get, then kick him loose with any bogus excuse he can come up with. A few days ago I had a hyaluronic acid injection in my shoulder from a Humana doctor. I have had immediate relief, with absolutely NO cost to me . . . it was covered under my insurance. My advice to you, should you be seeking this opportunist's services, is to not. Do your research, then try something that is FDA approved, because that means it is tried and true!

PTs are booked out 5-6weeks in advance, so if you're new or if your PT leaves and you get shuffled to another, be prepared to wait and wait or get shuffled to another PT, not ideal for consistency. I think it's reasonable that if you're an established patient with a PT, there should be an opening within 2 weeks to see them. It shouldn't be, get an eval, and then we'll put you on a cancellation list and if not, we'll see you in a month or more for treatment. If I hadn't already started with them, I'd go somewhere else. Wouldn't recommend until they can hire more staff or get a better system of being able to balance their patient loads.

I retired from the Army as a military police officer and paratrooper and have always been very active--playing sports, hiking, running, exercising, and spending much of my life on my feet. For more than 10 years, however, I suffered from Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). During that time, I tried nearly everything I could to find relief, including ropinirole, gabapentin, pregabalin, tramadol, buprenorphine, iron and magnesium supplements, massage, exercise, walking late into the night, and many other approaches. My RLS eventually had a tremendous impact on my quality of life. I couldn't sit through a movie or attend church without my legs becoming restless. I dreaded going to bed because I often knew I would be walking around the house until 2:00 a.m. trying to get relief. The medications I was taking also left me dealing with significant fatigue, nausea, and brain fog. I had reached a point where I honestly believed this might be how I would live for the rest of my life. Then I found Dr. James Anderson. During my first video consultation, Dr. Anderson was appropriately cautious. He asked detailed questions about my symptoms, medications, and medical history and explained that my symptoms were somewhat different from many of his other patients. Rather than simply assuming I was a candidate for surgery, he wanted to examine me in person and perform additional testing. My wife Wendy and I made the nine-hour drive from Payson, Utah, to Fort Collins, Colorado. During the drive, we listened to Dr. Anderson's book, A Perfect Night's Sleep, which gave me a much better understanding of RLS and, more importantly, gave me hope. After I arrived, Dr. Anderson performed a thorough examination and ultrasound evaluation. He also performed diagnostic injections near the nerve tunnel sites. The results were remarkable. My RLS symptoms decreased by approximately 95%. Based on those results, Dr. Anderson determined that I was a good candidate for surgery and recommended treating both legs at all three nerve tunnel sites. The procedure is somewhat similar in concept to carpal tunnel surgery, with the goal of relieving pressure around the nerves. I am now only a few weeks out from surgery, and my experience has been extraordinary. I am approximately 90-95% symptom-free. I understand that I am still early in recovery and that healing takes time, but the difference in my life already has been incredible. Most importantly, I am finally sleeping through the night. I have now been off my RLS medications for more than two weeks, and after more than a decade of depending on medication to manage my symptoms, that feels almost unbelievable. I also want to recognize the entire staff who cared for me. Tracy, Kim, Jen, Casey, and the other members of the team were incredibly kind, compassionate, and committed to helping me throughout the process. From the front desk to the surgery center, I felt that I was treated with genuine care, compassion, and respect. Dr. Anderson has truly given me hope again.
