I was told it was a free repair. While the technicians changed it out, they discovered that the main valve before the water meter was original to the house from 1942; water was leaking and I needed to get a plumber. As a result, Centennial Utility shut off the water to the house and despite my plea, Centennial Utility cannot turn on the water without the valve being fixed due to liability issues. As I mentioned, it was late in the afternoon. I called several plumbers to come out, but everyone said, "we can squeeze you in tomorrow." (I cannot go without water - I need it for cooking, drinking, and hygiene care.) When I Googled for a list of plumbers near my area, Bethel Plumbing came up as a new business that is about a year old with over thirty 5-star-reviews. I called, explained my situation, the woman took down my information and said she would pass my information to the plumber. Within less than 5 minutes, Scott, the plumber, called me and said he could be at my house in 45 minutes. He arrived at my house as he stated on the phone. I was impressed before I could ask if he had shoe covers, he pulled one out. Overall, he was nice and professional. He assessed the problem, gave me a quote for $579. It is a little high from what Centennial Utility said it might cost to replace the main valve, but for last-minute situation, I paid it to have running water. Unfortunately, he did have the piece needed on-hand so he drove in traffic, possibly after hours to get the part. He came back and completed the task and then showed my husband and I his work. He used the key provided by Centennial Utility to verify his work and we finally have water again. Overall, friendly, professional, and skillful. I would definitely recommend Bethel Plumbing.

The reviews were all very positive so I opted to have Scott do the install of the new water heater I was quoted a flat rat of $4826 for a new water heater to include installation and new venting to meet codes. Only when the job was completed did I received an email breaking down the costs. I then found out $3880 was to remove the old unit and replumb the new unit. I did some checking and found that exact water heater retailed at $1190 at Home Depot. That meant they charged $1690 for installation including the plumbing parts consisting of approx 7' of copper water pipe and one new shut off valve two couplings to secure inlet and outlet to the heater. They then charged me an additional $975 to run 30 feet 2" PCV pipe that met the newer code. That cost at Home Depot was $8 per 10' section and several 90° elbows Time for their service at my house for the completion was about 4-5 hours. That puts the labor cost at about $2600 give or take. I know they have overhead and business expenses but I feel their labor cost were way out of line and I would not be recommending them with those labor costs. P.S. When asked for a breakdown of parts and labor Scott said it was a flat rate. No indication of separate labor and parts until the job was completed and the invoice was Emailed to me upon completion. I feel I can not recommend them even though they were professional, prompt and knowledgeable.
