But I don't understand why it is so difficult to cancel a check and just hand me the cash to save everybody some trouble. My husband called SCFC yesterday to find out "WHY" he was bounced around to numerous departments. Each had a voice messages with questions and of the connections didn't work. He quit and decided to try this morning. Finally after being pushed around a few more times a person answered. She found none of information was not entered or was wrong. After 30 minutes and a headache, she sent us an email to access some documents... ..the pass code didn't work. I'm trying to pay off my boat loan in full, and they've made it nearly impossible. Since I've moved to Florida, I can't just walk into a branch to pay it off. You'd think they'd have a simple solution--NOPE! They won't accept full payment over the phone. The only option I have is to use their app, which has a ridiculous $5,000 transaction limit and takes a WEEK to process each payment. This means I have to keep making multiple payments over weeks while still accumulating interest, even though I ALREADY HAVE THE MONEY to pay it off! This is completely inefficient, costly, and feels like a scam to squeeze more interest out of customers. Avoid this bank if you value your time and money. Their outdated and inconvenient policies make paying off a loan more stressful than taking one out in the first place.
