Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else...anywhere else on the planet as long as it's not a SunTrust-Truist branch location.
I was, I no longer am, using a SunTrust Mastercard for my business purchases and charging over $250,000 annually. I buy from the SAME vendors day in and day out. Every single day the bank declines charges and locks the card due to "Suspected Fraud". It's the SAME freaking companies every single time. Some twice a day for the same dollar amounts.
Once I went into my local branch to withdraw $15,000 in cash. The teller informed me that there was no money in the bank and I would have to either take a cashiers check that comes with a $9.00 service fee, or place an order for the cash, which would be there in three to five business days!
I started looking around for a camera crew. I thought I was being punked. A bank with no cash? Are you freaking kidding me?! That's like going to Washington, D.C. and finding not one crooked politician anywhere.
When I contact the bank, on a daily basis, to fix the Mastercard problem they are rude, condescending and arrogant. And, the answer is always the same. "Sorry, there's nothing we can do about it."
Well, I did something about it. I closed every single one of our personal and business checking, savings, trust and investment accounts held by SunTrust. I cancelled every single personal and business credit card and line of credit issued to us by SunTrust, and then I ran as quickly as I possibly could to Regions Bank. If I operated my business the way they operate this bank I would be broke, hungry and divorced.
The last time I called the customer service number I sat on hold for two hours and forty-five minutes listening to a recording of Siri's not so famous cousin tell me, "We know your time is valuable and your call is important to us. Please stay on the line and a customer service representative will be with you shortly." Oh yes. I know it by heart.
I grew tired of just sitting there patiently waiting for the elusive customer service representative to come on the line, and Siri's cousin was beginning to irritate me. I figured I might as well surf the net to locate a direct telephone number I might call to reach a living, breathing, flesh and blood human being in the SunTrust fraud department, which was a big fat waste of time. If such a number does exist, it's an extremely well hidden and closely guarded secret.
What I did find, adding insult to injury, was the Customer Service Department's hours of operation. I was calling on a Sunday. There is no one in the building on a Sunday. They're closed and Siri's cousin never got the memo.
I am dying to find out exactly WHO was going to be right with me if I remained on the line, because I remained on the line...like a jackass...for nearly three hours. These folks working at SunTrust Bank are without a doubt the very same people for whom shampoo manufacturers must put "Directions for Use" labels on the back of the shampoo bottles.
Good God, y'all. I need a stiff shot of Common Sense before my head explodes. In my entire life I cannot recall having ever encountered such levels of incompetence, mismanagement and disdain for the good people they are in business to serve. read more
