I've had TruGreen service for one full year now. My lawn is the greenest in the area! I have a large defined lawn area on my 5 acre parcel. Last year my lawn area was at least 50% bare patches. I thought I would have to completely dig up the old growth and plant a new lawn. The TruGreen representative assured me that they could get the existing lawn area healthy and over-seed in the Fall. I was doubtful, but signed on the dotted line anyway (what did I have to lose?). Well, like I said, I now have the greenest lawn in the neighborhood. I couldn't be happier with TruGreen service. TruGreen should use before and after pictures of my yard in their advertisements. read more

The communication with this company is horrible. I called them a week ago to cancel my service and they still showed up at my house at 7:30 in the morning and sprayed my yard after I had already canceled then had the nerve to charge my account. This is not the first time this incident has happened. I don't understand what is going on with the communication. I wish I could get this company zero stars. read more

Let them do a one time weed application and told the tech and his manager on the phone i did NOT want additional services ever.. 3 months later I get a text saying they were coming tomorrow to apply something... I called and canceled that within 5 minutes of the text and they sent out a tech anyway (tech played dumb of course)... These folks are as shady as it gets! BEWARE read more

I had a few weeds and called true green out. Now we have no weeds but also no grass. They killed over 85% of our grass. When calling they said they have never heard of this and yet all these reviews say different. I would NOT recomend. read more

This is the most unprofessional organization that I have ever dealt with! I paid for a year's service which was my first mistake! The treatments on my new lawn at my new home started out OK. The lawn was greening up and looking pretty good. The next treatment (number 3) started the downhill slide. My lawn was literally killed and brown. After many attempts to contact my "technician" named Caleb, I was able to talk with him. He proceeded to give me an uneducated chemistry lesson and an inaccurate dissertation on weather conditions. The application was applied the day after a huge series of storms which resulted in close to record amounts of rain! Plus, I have built in sprinklers... this dispelled his lie regarding "not enough water..." Caleb, the "technician" agreed to meet me and assess the lawn. He did explain that he had a couple of stops and would be at my home in the afternoon. I sat on my porch until about 6:30 PM without Caleb showing up at my home. Two days went by when I was finally able to make contact with him. He started out by claiming that when he stopped by, I was not home. This is laughable, as I just had major surgery and was unable to go anywhere! He then backpedaled and indicated that his manager told him that our telephone conversation was "more than adequate" in reconciling the problem. By this time, I have had enough! I contacted Tru Green corporate and received a return call from a very accommodating lady. I demanded that my contract be canceled, and after a very long discussion, she agreed to do so. She indicated that I would be refunded approximately $400.00 dollars which I since received. She shared with me that this is indeed unacceptable, and my email and text chain that I shared with her along with my call log, helped to prove what I was telling her! My advice is to run, run, run the other way from these scam artists!!! There is too much of this baloney today. I actually thought Tru Green was a reputable company! I was sure proved wrong! Too bad! Lesson learned! read more

ZERO STARS- Impossible to work with. Can't get them on the phone. Manager will not phone back. Technicians were fine, but are not able to notify when they would be on the property. Messages never get passed on. Billing is a nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! read more

This is the worst lawn company we've ever dealt with. First salesman "Alex", if that's even his real name, calls and sells you a package. Says he will be your contact if you ever need anything(bunch of crap). Even leaves you his cell phone(he never answers it again or responds to texts). He probably doesn't even work for them anymore. Service begins. Every time they do something new on your lawn a new person comes out only knows what he supposed to do, nothing else. The guy who came out to reseed didn't know anything about how often we should water or any other question my husband asked. If you call the company, they never answer, and they never return your phone calls and don't respond to email. And where is "Alex" our wonderful representative probably "selling" for someone else now. This company is a bunch of shysters once they get their money they send somebody out that does a crappy job, that doesn't even know what they're doing. Do not ever use Trugreen. Horrible service, "specialists" are untrained and don't know what the heck they're doing, We still have weeds all over the lawn after they sprayed several times. The "reseeding" plugs are so far apart you can hardly even see that they reseeded. Stay away from this company. We want our money back. We are going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I have tried to get an estimate on my lawn care and have gotten quoted 3 different prices from 3 different agents! I got an estimate yesterday but had to call back because I was on a business call. I called back today and they transfer you to sales, so the price goes up. I called again and the agent must have been on a bad phone and I could not understand a word she said. This is ridiculous! read more

My yard was filled with weeds so I called TruGreen. A "lawn care specialist" called me and we agreed to a treatment on the lawn. I instructed him to contact the property manager before going there, providing name and contact information. He agreed to contact her, after which I contacted property manager to advise he would be calling before going there. I am the owner. The tenant and property manager have an agreement that before anyone goes on the property, he will be notified. The second thing is that I wanted to be there when he went there to see that someone was actually doing their job. So the next morning he, Kyle Y, emails me stating that he had been there and completed the work. I called the property manager to ask if he had contacted her, and she stated that the TruGreen employee had not called her. I then called TruGreen customer service and cancelled any future work because employee had not followed instructions. Every day since I have cancelled the service, the "lawn care worker" has emailed me to state he is on his way to my house to perform work. I called customer service and asked to have the emails stopped but the emails keep coming. So, I called again today to ask to speak with the owner or general manager about a problem employee. The agent said someone would get back to me in 48 to 72 hours. So, we'll see where that goes. I recommend that no one deals with this company unless they get control of what their employees are doing. There might be good employees there, but you don't know for sure what you're going to get, because I ended up with one who doesn't follow instructions, doesn't have enough sense to even apologize, plus is vindicative in sending harassing emails. read more

Everything started out really well. But, they kept on and kept on trying to sell additional services. During my last service I mentioned that our lawn always gets a fungus or disease this time of year due to the amount of rain in the spring. He sold me an additional service for fungus and disease. I thought he would have applied it that day but when looking at the report he left it did not indicate that he had. I called and was told it would be scheduled separately soon. A month passed and sure enough my lawn started to turn brown from fungus or disease. I called last week and inquired as to why the service I added had not been completed. She told me it would be done Friday or at the latest Monday. Haven't heard a word from them. I called again to be placed on hold for 5+ min and the lady that answered was rude and I could not understand her. When I asked for someone else she hung up on me. Called again waited 5+ more minutes and canceled my services completely and asked for a refund. THIS COMPANY IS ONLY WANTING TO SELL SELL SELL ADDITIONAL SERVICES AND DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR EXISTING CUSTOMERS. USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION!!! read more

My neighbor had them spray his yard and trees today. One tree is on our fence line. I was outside with my puppy who, of course, ran over to see what was going on. I was calling her to come so I could take her inside, as the wind was blowing in our direction. Instead of waiting for me to get her in, the guy goes ahead and sprays the insecticide on the tree and it blows right on my puppy, causing her to start coughing. He just said "sorry about that". The jerk knew I was trying to get her inside...he couldn't have waited a few seconds?!? read more

Trugreen is a scam company. They have lied to us repeatedly about what they did in servicing our trees. three years ago they sprayed our trees and within two days the trees were dying. After many calls a guy came out and said it must be some anomaly within the trees and denied any responsibility ,long story short after months of dealing with them they replaced three of the trees. I pretty much believed their story and kept using them (I know I know). Well three years later they did it again seventeen trees either dead or damaged and guess what they denied any responsibility again. After twenty or so calls a guy came out and said the damage was caused by a frost not spraying and in fact denied spraying at all, even though they billed for it and left a sign in the yard. While I pointed out there was no damage apparent to any of the several hundred trees in view he just threw his hands up and still said it was the frost. As a bonus the guy admitted the first time three years ago they sprayed a wrong chemical, only took three years to get the truth from this rude A--hole. Do yourself a favor and find another company. read more

I have purchased many products from the box stores to treat my lawn based on what I feel, would give me a green, full looking lawn. Unfortunately it never turns out like I want. I decided to have a trained trugreen professional apply what I need for the type of lawn I have. The end result looks so much better with trugreen; and now I have more family time. read more

No mosquitoes guaranteed is worth every penny...and they come through on their promises!

I was in need of lawn maintenance. I called Tru-Green national number first. They do not provide local numbers. The person at Tru-Green was very pushy. After 10-15 minutes I finally I had to make him let me hang up. A couple of days later a local sales person called. I told him i had contracted with a local company, He asked several questions as to why, etc. I had to threaten to hang up. a week later a sales person from Tru-Green came to my door. I explained I had contracted locally. He asked why along with so many other questions. I cut him off and said good bye and closed the door. Tru-Green is very pushy. I cannot recommend them. read more

Go elsewhere. I used them one year to aerate my lawn as a one time service. A year later they came out while I was away at work, provided the service again that I did not request, then billed me for it. I called them and told them I wasn't paying a bill for a service I did not order. They noted that over the phone but then continued to send out bills with threats of sending it into a bill collector. Then they continued to disrupt me at work to push more services on me and would not take no for an answer. Don't get in their system, they will continue to harass you, go elsewhere. I have spent more time dealing with their shady business scheme than what I saved having them provide the original service. read more

The same specialist has been coming to our house for a few months. He is very courteous and knows what he is doing where our lawn is concerned. Our yard looks so much better than it did at this same time last year. We are so glad we went with this service! read more

Terrible service. Communication with office, sales, and workers is horrible. Scam artists. Go somewhere else.

I stayed home all day yesterday and they did not show up after being called the day before. This morning I got an email they had serviced my yard yesterday. When I called them this morning, they said they had been here. Last month they charged me for grub worms, which I had never signed up for. I am so done with them!!! read more
