This is ridiculously embarrassing to write about, but I feel that doing so may protect some people…read morefrom this business. I am referring to a local business owned by Charles Carr that goes by North American Contractors or possibly C&C Tree Services. The two phone number could be 417-920-6806 or 417-771-5658. Charles Carr's business is a tree trimming business. I initially hired Charles' business on Wednesday, July 17t, 2019 to cut down a tree in my front yard for $1400. This included cutting the pieces small enough to clean up the limbs on my own and the larger pieces that I could split into firewood. He stated the job would be finished the next day and asked for a 50% deposit. I countered with an offer of $200 as that was all the cash I had. They failed to show up Thursday and promised to show up Friday. They failed again on Friday and promised to show up Saturday morning. They failed again and drove by Sunday night with their truck and asked if they could leave it in front of my house for the next morning. They asked for $200 more and I assumed with the truck in my yard that they would show up. They did show up that evening and cut for a short time promising to be back in the morning. They showed up Tuesday evening and worked for about 2 hours. At this time I asked him to cut down a small tree in my backyard alongside the fence and he agreed for $100. When they finished working that evening, he said they would leave the truck and return in the morning to finish the jobs. At this time he realized I would be gone for work and asked for the remainder of the money since I would not be there. In good faith, I paid him the remainder. When I returned home the next day from work, the truck was gone and no work had been done. When I called, he promised to have it finished Thursday. I was supposed to have a delivery done to my backyard on Friday, so I was worried. He did not show on Thursday. On Friday I messaged him and he said he would finish that evening. Unfortunately that conflicted with my delivery. I ended up having to call in sick to work, rented a chainsaw for $69 from Home Depot, and cut wood in my driveway all day to give access to the forklift. I was not able to finish and at the last minute had to re-schedule at a fee of $200. Since then he continues to promise to be there tomorrow or the next day. His crew has returned twice late at night only to work for a short time. He hired another company to come over last Friday to work for about an hour cleaning up limbs. Now he has begun to refuse returning my messages. I am going to have to hire another company to finish his work. I believe he is going from house to house eliciting business this way as soon as he is hired by one neighbor. My elderly neighbors told me he approached them the same night he started on my house promising to work on their homes that same evening. Luckily they could see he was being dishonest with them immediately because they saw there was no way he was even going to finish my home that evening. I realize I have lost my money. However, again, I believe he is going house to house as he is hired and he is probably scamming people along the way. Researching him now, I see that he had a different business name last summer which, I assume, means he is changing his business's name along the way as he racks up customers. I hope you can use this information to alert others and prevent them from losing money.

Don't hire them they say they are a company but then I went there they were gone their phone number…read moredoesn't work. They show up at your door. They have a square card. They took $450 from us and never came back.We could never find them. Then we try to get our money back their never try to get on contract with us they just took the money and did not come back. I STILL have their rope hanging in my tree
