They destroyed my yard when they fertilized my tree. There hose had a leak so the liquid went all over my lawn instead of going in the ground for the tree. Tru Green did come out and reseed my yard for me as well as put little plugs in my yard. They did try to make it rite but they should of paid attention before they started this. Fix your equipment. Tru Green is the BEST lawn service out there. My yard was a mess 5 years ago, weeds, bare spots and dank looking grass. I tried Scotts myself with not much success The first season on Tru Green started with weed killer and fertilizer. Killed the weeds and the yard looked worse. Many bare spots but the grass did start to thickening up at the end of the first years treatment. The second season started and the results were amazing, grass everywhere and thick. Weeds were less but still in the yard. Dave the technologist told me to be patient and all will turn out well. I had them come back twice (free) between services and spot spray weeds. Bam!!! gone. Now into year three we had a great spring growing season and the results are amazing. No weeds. Yes NO WEEDS! And the grass is so dense that it is barefoot walkable. This is our 4th season with tru green and I swear by this company. Yes it took a year but I trusted Dave and his advice. Never think 1 year is too long to get rid of weeds as the fall seed from weeds will show up in the spring. Just have to be consistent. I never worry about the service as it was rained for a week and the first day Dave can get out and do the yard he shows up. Highly recommend. Just trust consistency. We bought a six month treatment plan in Dec of 2020. As of today Aug, 3, 2021, they have only showed up once in April. It is August and still they have not returned. When you call the company they give us a date of when they will be here and then they are a no show. As of today, Aug. 3rd we requested a refund. Let's see how long it takes them to issue us one. I would never recommend them to anyone. Here is what they did to our yard: fertilizer spills causing burn spots; 4-wheel drive grooves in the yard; did the aeration without first contacting us (really?) We told them we have a sprinkler system and would need to mark the sprinkler heads first, so obviously several of our sprinkler heads were damaged by the steel tines that puncture the yard - we have three acres. Our salesman, Scott McClellan, said to send him the invoice for the replacements and they would reimburse us. Well, that has never happened. Very disappointed with this company with years of dissatisfied service as well as with our salesman. read more

Update to my last post. Called in again and got the most rude customer service rep who told me they thought I thought they were a liar so they started being rude to me telling me there was no more info in the account and I wasn't asking the right questions to the answers I wanted. I told the rep they were not being professional or caring about my situation and they told me "It's just a job what do I care?" Conversation got heated and lasted way too long. A few hours later a "Manager" called me and apologized for the "confusion" in my account. I expressed my concern for information being added to my account where I "Accepted an offer to stay with the company" when I specifically stated I never wanted to see them again. I also told her I was very upset that I have had to cancel 3 times now and everyone keep giving me different info that is or is not in my account. Also that people keep showing up anyway to spray my lawn. The "Manager" stated they were sorry and asked me "What do you want me to do about it?". I pushed harder trying to find out how all this could have happened and how they are just pushing it off as an accident. She finally came back telling me she was not a manager. She is the person who calls people in place of the managers since the managers are never available to do their job or even their requested call backs. After telling her I wanted to talk to a manager she asked me why? They would just tell me what she told me. I explained that I asked for a manager first and got a middle person who fluffs the situation, I would like a manager. She said ok I will have them call you and then proceeded to hang up on me. read more

To prepare our house for sale, I called TruGreen and specifically said we have bare patches in the lawn that need to be seeded. Instead--according to customer service--the treatment they applied *kills* any new grass seed (*) and that we will need to dig up the lawn to remove that "barrier." Read that sentence again: we will need to DIG UP OUR LAWN to sell the house. (*) A treatment intended for crabgrass, which we never had. I would give five negative stars if I could. Update: After canceling my service and requesting 3 times to be put on their "do not call list", TruGreen keeps calling to sell me more services. STAY AWAY. read more

The product is good, my yard is thick, green, and weedfree, but the customer service is the worst. Nobody actually follows up about issues I've had. Everyone I spoke to when I called in promised to call back and no one ever did. Finally gave up and cancelled my service after being a customer for three years. Guess they're not interested in long term clients. Funny how much they call when trying to sell you extra treatments though. read more

Every time, and I don't mean sometimes, when TruGreen comes into our neighborhood to perform an application, there is a significant (not de minimis, yes, I do know what I'm talking about) chemical left on the road, and sometimes evidence of spillage where the vehicle was parked. Ah-ah. no use trying to deny that this is the case, TruGreen. We who walk our dogs on the road have to constantly try to avoid our animals picking up the chemicals on their paws. And when it rains the day after, the chemical is now in liquid form, and spreads further and is invisible. Nasty, irresponsible, and downright criminal. Companies using chemical applications should have processes in place that mistake-proof not cleaning up. We understand that pellets of chemical will end up on hard surfaces, but the spill should be cleaned up. We have called, sent letters, tried to email (they don't have that available unless you pay). Nothing seems to work. When we call, the service tech is always apologetic, and assures us that our complaint will reach the proper person. Hasn't reached the proper person yet, that's for sure. Sooo, now, it's Facebook time. We will continue to out this company until they resolve this chemical contamination, and that includes contacting Hazmat, and other organizations with photos of these spills. read more

Prepaid for the season with Scott's, but when Scott's and TruGreen merged I was stuck with them. Was told I needed a fungicide treatment. Called on June 17th to schedule. On July 5th I still haven't received it. Asked them to not automatically enroll me in service next year as I will be changing companies. The rep told me I have to call back after all my treatments this year. I don't want to be inconvenienced by calling again, as I just called. She told me to call back in November or February. Poor service, they are hoping I forget and they will come out next spring. I was with Scott's for 8 years and never had a problem. Very disappointed. read more

This is the first year we paid for lawn service in South Bend. We have a major crabgrass problem we thought financially would be better for a service to help with. We had heard good things about TruGreen so we went with them. 2 treatments in this year and I'm very disappointed and would never recommend this service. First customer service is awful. It took several calls for them to finally correct my phone number, even after I still never get reminder service calls. I work from home so have watched the two applications that have only lasted 5 minutes. The tree/shub man didn't even touch half of my shrubs in the back yard all while looking so professional with a big wad of chew in his mouth. The third application no one showed up and when I called customer service were told they had completed my service. They claimed to have rescheduled my service later that week but after receiving an email about a completed service again (that never happened) customer service is now saying they can't guarantee service this week. My weeds are growing and I prepaid for the year, never never again. If I could give negative stars I would. read more
