TruGreen treated my yard without permission. The treatment killed plants that I intentionally wanted there. When I tried to get in touch with customer service I spoke with someone from Indiana. They told me to visit the local office. The address listed turned out to be a private driveway with no building on it. read more

I'd easily give a zero. the WORST COMPANY IN THE CENTRAL VIRGINIA AREA. they stole my money!! did not perform the services on contract. my bank has filed a claim against them. to get a full refund. you can't ever reach anyone. when I finally did reach a real live person, he was so rude, so unhelpful. I prepaid for an annual service, I wasn't home when the tech came to treat my lawn. I have ring cameras around the property and noticed the tech didn't treat all of my lawn. I contacted the office and told them my complaint. They sent the same guy to retreat my lawn; this time, he put over 25 TruGreen signs all over it. After dealing with my yard, I finally gave up and bit the bullet. I felt like Trugreen was a reputable name in which I decided to give them a call. The agent I spoke with on the phone was very polite, and definitely considered my needs when it came to what I was looking for. My first appointment was scheduled for Monday 7/29/2019 between the hours of 8a - 1pm. I received my confirmation email and text message. Monday morning I received an additional text message letting me know that my lawn specialist Spencer, would be here 'shortly'. I left work, came home.. and waited patiently. As this was the first treatment, I wasn't sure about paperwork and I also wanted to speak with him regarding specific areas of my lawn that needed work. I utilized the GPS tracking on my phone to know more specifically when he would arrive. Fast forward 2 hours. In that time, he had driven past my house twice, and added more and more time to the ETA arrival. I logged into my app, chatted with a customer service representative to inform him that I needed to get back to work and that I thought it was strange how he drove by but never stopped. He stated that he would send a txt to the driver. 45minutes later, the tech via gps stated that he was at my address. However, I'm sitting on the porch waiting. I waited and waited... 20 minutes later I received a txt and app notification thanking me for allowing me to use their services and that I owed $29.95. HE NEVER SHOWED. I called customer service, they apologized, stated that they would have the tech call me as well as a supervisor. The tech called me... and apologized, stating that he accidentally did the wrong house and that he wouldn't be able to come back until tomorrow because he was dispatched to another house. Keeping in mind, I am a brand new customer. The tech stated he would be out to my house tomorrow, the 30th between 11a-12p. I left work again. Came home, and he showed up. What lawn analysis? He did NOT do a lawn analysis. He was here 10 minutes, to simply spray a section of my yard then leave. He only did 1 side of the yard, and completely ignored the other side of the driveway? Unacceptable Needless to say, I owe $29.95, there is no sign in my yard, I am still waiting on a supervisor to call me back, and only half of my yard was complete? What kind of craziness is this? Had I not been here yesterday, I would have assumed he treated the yard. I do not recommend Trugreen as the the technician didn't seem to know what he was doing other than spraying some type of liquid on small sections of my yard. Customer service allowed me to have my 2nd treatment free of charge which basically saves me $60. But still. The integrity of this company is blowing my mind. Unacceptable. read more

Don't do it! Trugreen is one of those companies that follow the unfortunately very popular model of putting the bulk of its energy into marketing and upselling and very little into its actual service. You can expect to be pestered by endless near weekly phone calls (don't ever give them your cell phone number) and emails about upgrading your service, poor quality and skimpy application of lawn treatments and a very manipulative and difficult process of resisting you cancelling your service. They auto renew your policy and only allow you to cancel during the tiny window of time when your last scheduled service occurs and before the next auto renewed one occurs. FYI, you have to track this, they won't tell you when this occurs. You've been warned.... read more

I just moved into a new home 6 months ago. I signed up for their Healthy Lawn Plan which consists of about 9 treatments a year including Lime application and Trees/Shrubs. The first thing that alarmed me is that they quoted me without sending anyone out at all. The price was lower than some of the other quotes that I had gotten so I went ahead. To make a long story short they treated my yard 6 times between April and August and my yard looks worse than it did when I started their "Healthy Lawn Program" My yard has a large hill and it was obvious they weren't going all the way to the bottom by the abundance of weeds. I called to cancel and they talked me into having someone coming out and walking the yard with me to discuss my concerns. They no showed and never called me to reschedule. Unless you want to give your money away don't go with these guys. Bad results and terrible communication! read more

DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE! the first time the guy came out to aerate and seed he did about half the lawn, and ran the aerator over my paver walkway, breaking pavers. After I complained, asking that a different guy be sent out, they sent out the same person. This time he turned the aerator off but took steep turns on my driveway and pavers, leaving tire marks that won't come off, even with a power washer. I have terminated the contract and have my fingers crossed I get some sort of refund. Life is too short to worry about Trugreen trashing my yard. read more

We should have paid attention to the reviews that were written before we paid. We have battled the company all summer long about two of our 3 different types of services. They do a good job........when they come to do a treatment. Now, we've been needing one of their "guaranteed" free resprays if we have biting insects after a spray and before the next. I called last week to let them know we needed a respray because of mosquito bites. Our spray date has been changed 3 or 4 times since then so that the current posted date as of this morning is actually 5 weeks past our last spray and two weeks after my initial call requesting a respray. It even got changed to a later date since I talked to local customer service (again) yesterday. All but one person I've talked with (5/6) have been polite and seemed concerned, but none of them have produced any results when it comes to actually getting the treatments we've paid for and in a timely manner. read more

I had trugreen for 30 years. For some reason they stopped treating my backyard. This is ONLY one problem that I had with them. Customer service? Absolutely none. I called and called. They said they would send someone out. It never happened. After a whole year of screw ups I fired them. Only then did I get their attention. It was too late. Btw I'm not from California. I only reviewed a restaurant in California. I'm from Roanoke and reviewing the Salem Trugreen. read more

After treating my lawn, the young man left my gate open. Not even aware that treatment had been done, I let my dogs out. Of course, they went out the gate the young man had left open. One was struck by a car and died. Only later did I discover the open gate. I will never use these people again. Leave the property the way you find it is paramount. read more

They over promise and always under deliver. Happened last year and is happening again this spring. Only reason I stayed was because they need to reseed my lawn. Can't tell you how many times they charged my account the wrong amount so check your account for errors. read more
