TruGreen Lawn Care - Green Grass - Tree Services Near Me - Minnetonka, Minnesota

Caught on home security cameras faking service--no treatment applied, just placing signs to make it look like they did. We've lost four bushes under their "care." It's been over four weeks since they promised a follow-up. Still nothing. Stay away. read more

They killed my lawn! I would recommend avoiding. For me, doing nothing would have been better than spending hundreds of dollars with Trugreen. It looks like everyone in the area on yelp likely agrees. Stay away! read more

Can not trust this company. We canceled after we found guy spraying going into our fenced in backyard. My husband and I both spoke with this same guy on different occasions reiterating that he was NOT to spray sides and back of yard. So we canceled immediately. Today after standing on my front porch for 5 minutes I caught them coming around the house to the backyard. If you value the safety of your pets and children steer clear of this company! read more

TruGreen horrible customer service! When the company makes a mistake TruGreen doesn't care to make it right! They do a half ass job and don't take care of their customers. #cancelTruGreen read more

I was considering a lawn care service and requested a quote. After learning that TruGreen and other lawn care companies will not come out 1x for 1x fee, I decided to do the lawn myself (I purchased a house recently and the yard has been neglected for years). The reason this is 1 star is because after requesting a quote, I have received 6-7 calls per day from unknown numbers that never leave messages. Not worth the hassle as there are always local law care services that are more than willing to help (called 2-3 other companies and never had an issue with robo calls). read more

I have been with TruGreen thru 4 houses and over a decade. Their services have improved over the years as it was never perfect but now with the constant yearly increases of 10% or more, time to look elsewhere. Good news there are many companies to look at now. Unfortunate as i have helped many get Trugreen too, once i find the new company i will encourage my network to leave Trugreen too. Greed. 2 stars to your annual gouging of customers who dont get 10% increases annually. read more

Don't do it people. They will keep coming out to treat your lawn, even after you've told them not to. Then they keep billing you. So don't sign up for the first or even second application. Unless of course you want to sign up for the whole season. I paid them for the first two applications, which is all I really wanted and could afford. Then they came out two more times. That's not right. read more

Best lawn care I have ever had. I have used other services but since switching to TruGreen I absolutely have the best lawn I have ever had. The price is very reasonable. read more

This place sucks over priced they never did what I signed up for they won't refund you. I will never go through them again.

This company should change their name from TrGreen to TruScam. Don't use them they are awful. I wouldn't hire them again to do any sort of lawn service. All they know how to do is apologize. Don't waste your money on this company. read more

Not to mention after not paying them to wreck your lawn they will send you to debt collectors.

All the one star reviews are real. Here is mine: In the summer of 2023, we had a terrible customer service experience with TruGreen Minnetonka. We had contracted for front yard spray of weeds, but they sprayed both front and back. The back yard had an intentional clover lawn and also backs up to a pond so it was full of summertime toads and other wildlife. We've no way of knowing what happened to the wildlife, but we know our little dog (who has a dog door) ran all through the wet chemical. The clover lawn died. In the few days following, a trugreen manager came out and acknowledged the error and said that they would reimburse us for the costs to replant the lawn. Obviously, that is necessary, but a huge amount of re-work for us and a lost season of growth. With no other recourse we put hours of work into replanting the lawn and money into rebuying the seed. We have been contacting TruGreen on the regular ever since. After 3 months of hounding them, they refunded the charge for the chemical spraying (literally the least they could do). We have had NO other financial reimbursement for them killing our lawn. All phone calls and emails go to corporate and physical mail was returned. We've gotten no further follow up. We are now beyond the 4 month mark. We are beyond frustrated at TruGreen's horrible customer service and complete lack of desire to help us fix the problem they caused. I do NOT recommend them. If all is well you are probably fine but if not you are ignored. Go with another company - this one is terrible. read more

Would you like your lawn to look like this, with lots of bare spots? Even though you have had a lawn care company for two years and have paid them $809.95 to take care of your grass? Then be sure to hire TruGreen for your lawn care needs. They will kill your grass and then say it was your fault. They do have a Healthy Lawn Guarantee, which means they will come out, look at your lawn, and blame the problem on you. Then when you cancel their service because your lawn looks much, much worse than when you started with them, they will call you and send you letters saying they want you back. Yeah, that has about as much chance of happening as my grass does of growing back. If you want a nice lawn, do not hire TruGreen! read more

I've been a customer for 15+ years. My yard used to be beautiful but has declined even with TLC from us. I watched TruGreen do today's application and now it all makes sense. The kid was here for 1 min. He only fertilized and week controlled 1/5 of the yard. Missing the whole front left. I've never watched before- today I did. Spent 20 min on hold to talk to someone and they are sending someone tomorrow to redo. No sorry or apology. I told her to cancel all my future treatments and to never re-enroll me. I'm done! read more

Quick to take your money, don't want to provide the service. I took a risk calling TruGreen for an Aeration. I paid $290 for the service and was told I'd receive a call within 24-48 hours to schedule. 10 days later I was calling them (except you can only call their service line which is not local). Some agent sitting at HQ apologized for the inconvenience and told me the job had a completion date of x and that I'd get a call within 24hrs of that date or before letting me know they would be at my house. Yet to receive a call. I'd HIGHLY recommend going with local/small family owned businesses. This company is a train wreck. read more

I will be ending my service with your company after my last service is complete. Unlike you I will uphold my end of the contract. Your customer service is HORRIBLE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They take your $$ and do not respond for months when asked to talk to someone. read more

Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had to pull out weeds on 2 acres for years with this garbage service.

TruGreen's fertilizer and weed control chemicals are truly effective. I just wish their employees were. This was the worst season ever for their customer service!! I've had many cancelled lawn application appointments. I've tried rescheduling online and by phone, but it didn't do any good. Last week they were supposed to come out for final application and never showed. I just gave up and canceled the rest of this season's applications: yard is covered in leaves and inground sprinklers are shut off. Yet today I still got an automated "Trudy" call saying they'd be out tomorrow! These people don't even read their customer notes. The supervisors need to step up and take more control over the business before it's lost. It's sad. I've used them since the 80's when it was called ChemLawn. They were really good back then. What happened to you guys?!!! read more

Absolutely terrible service! We got the grass treatment five times. They went into the fenced backyard for the five times and left the gate open three of those times! Obviously we didn't know because it was on the side of the house we couldn't see and our dogs got out every time they left it open. Half the time they wouldn't even spray the bushes for the service we payed for, we have cameras in the front and the back and it never caught them doing anything besides putting the little sign in the yard! Do not recommend read more

Stay away from these clowns. Years ago they were awesome. My yard looked great. They were proactive and I didn't have to worry. I used them for 3 years until the technician lied about treating my backyard. I did my own treatments for a couple years and then last year decided to give them another chance. It took them until mid July to get my weeds under control. I decided to keep them for this year and my back yard is now full of weeds again. In my opinion every 6 weeks is not enough. Their website doesn't tell you when your next scheduled service is and they just leave you hanging and guessing as you have to look at the weeds every single day and just get more angry. I can do better with 6 bottles of Weed B Gone and my garden hose! I have dead spits i want to patch but I cant because i dont know when they are coming back. I just fired them for the 2nd time and will never go back to them again. Communication is seriously lacking with this company! read more

Terrible company. They just charge you and the service is not completed. They never sprayed my full lawn, just 50% of the front yard. Still have weeds and grabgrass. Customer service is terrible. Never call you back. Don't use this company. read more

Worst business! SCAM! They quote one price over the phone and then begin taking large amounts of money from account citing services that were not agreed upon. Also, charged over $200 one month for aeration but they didn't do the job because "my hill was steep" and despite that I was charged. Finally, when I called to talk about the overcharging I was told someone would call me back and no manager available. Surprise! No call back despite my repeated calls. DO NOT contract with them! Predatory charging!!! read more

Horrible customer service. We have been paying customers for years and got our lawn mowing company to give us a better price quote for fertilization. When we called to cancel, they were rude and questioned if we could afford their service. Who the F says that, the guy was completely rude to my wife and insisted we stay with them. We called the 800 number to cancel it, so whoever is answering phones there should be fired immediately. Just be aware if you ever want to cancel your service, you will get a very rude reaction. read more

Thought I was finding an easy solution to attend to my lawns. I was wrong. The CSR people at this national company are nice and professional, but there is a total disconnect between the 888 CSR's and the local office. Since I had more than one property last year, they communicated with me as if I was different people, separate accounts, separate bills, too many communications, they totally lost one property they serviced last year even after I gave them a reminder in a conversation with their local office about not including it this year. 888 CSR's told me accounts could be combined. Next day, local person told me the exact opposite. They did do one treatment on one of the properties this year, in March in Minnesota. Unless you welcome the frustration, you'll do much better with a truly local company that knows you're one person. Very frustrating. Steer clear of a TruGreen. read more

I have continually contacted them about their promises to make my lawn weed free because mine is not weed free. All they do is reapply weed killer to no avail. Be careful because they will not give a refund or a partial refund. read more

My husband and I hired TruGreen to spray weeds and fertilize the lawn. We told them to let us know when they were coming because we wanted to be home to see what they were doing. After agreeing to do so, they completely ignored our request. For all we know, no one ever showed up, because you couldn't tell that anything had been done, but we did get a bill. Now came the worst part: They were ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH. Calling the local number got us to some national line where we left messages. After a full week of attempting to get a live human being, my 85-year-old disabled husband got a ride TO THEIR OFFICE 10 miles away. The office manager was someone new and she didn't know anything about the situation. She did tell him, however, that the weeds would need to be sprayed repeatedly FOR TWO YEARS before we would see results! (It would have been nice if the guys who came out to see the lawn had told us that!!) Although she was very nice - and promised to get back to us, a week has now passed without a single word from her. THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Find someone local and small who has a phone number at which you can actually reach them! And if Yelp permitted a score of zero, that's what we would choose. read more

Please do not order TruGreen service if you love your neighbors. I am not a TruGreen customer, but my neighbor is and it is MY lawn that is routinely being treated instead of his, even though my house is 2 houses away. Their treatments are burning my lawn since it is also treated by a service I actually hired. TruGreen seems to hire people who can't read addresses, their customer service is rude and they use chemicals that are harmful for children and pets. Please do not use them. read more

Lawn Technicians have been to our house five times this season and still can't get rid of crabgrass. We had hopes of seeding our lawn due to bare patches from our dog, but haven't been able to do that. We received three bids for lawn care and TruGreen was the highest bid. We assumed we would be getting good lawn care. We assumed wrong. We live in Mpls. so our yard isn't that big, but clearly they can't seem to figure out how to get of crabgrass. Frustrating. My recommendation would be to use another company. They won't be getting my business next year. read more

Update - When I called to cancel they offered me a discount to stay. EVERYONE SHOULD CALL AND GET THIS DISCOUNT, it seems cheap not to offer it to loyal customers. Had to pass it up based how bad my experience had been, but maybe those that are happy can save some $$$. Original Review - Disappointing. I had True Green last summer and wanted to make changes to my plan. I called to make the changes and they were confirmed over the phone , so I thought. Then, last week they came out and began the program that I was on last year, which was WHAT I HAD CALLED TO CHANGE AND DID NOT WANT. Plus, they call repeatedly to upsell, despite me being added to a "do not upsell list "which at this point I believe is either an imaginary list or an inside joke amongst their customer service reps. Do not recommend. read more

Very dissatisfied with company. When I signed up they forgot to come back after the first application. I had to call and ask when they were coming and found out I was never on a schedule. Had numerous weeds all season for this. Than I find out that they come out in December. I have NEVER had a company come out that time of the year. I asked what is there was snow she goes we put it on top of the snow - REALLY. I found out they were at my house after they already applied - which was ALL over my driveway - Thinking they should hit the grass not all over the driveway. Which I have dogs. When I call I Was told I would received a refund not to cancel and guess what never received it. I Called back NO record I Even call and complained. When talking to Stephanie she made a comment OH MY GOSH about how upset I was. Told her maybe should should wait until the customer is off the phone before complaining about me. Terrible Terrible Customer Service. Would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND TRU GREEN TO ANYONE!!!!! read more

Just received a call back from a customer service rep here. After we discussed everything and the pricing, I informed him I was at work and had to discuss the final price with my wife when I got home this afternoon. TrueGreen came to neighbor's house in Apple Valley to clean their yard. In the process, they ripped out my plants and shavings in front of my mailbox. When I called to ask them to fix the problem they created, they told me to go the store and purchase replacements, and send the bill to them (and pray that they'd pay them). I requested that they repair and replace the damage that they created. I was told they weren't in the business to fix their screw ups, and that it was my problem. If you want to annoy the hell out of your neighbors, hire these knobs. I live in Apple Valley, MN, not Beaver Dam. read more

Hired them to spray the weeds only. The over fertilized my lawn and killed my healthy grass that I had work hard to maintain.
