Matt acknowledged these hazards, including an unmarked line, and had assured me they would address them. Mistakes happen, the fence line was broken and I politely asked what could be done. Despite this, the situation deteriorated when I contacted them, and NO compensation was requested from me. Unexpectedly, the owner responded by yelling, displaying a level of disrespect and unprofessionalism that was entirely unprovoked. "However our schedules do matter, and if you want to determine exactly when treatments will be done, then perhaps you should seek out a different service option." A condescending attitude that absolutely screams : 1. We are considered marginal, at best, to your business interests, and 2. that you don't really don't give a s--t about your customer's feedback or their business. Doehling was a major step up over my previous provider. My lawn is healthy and the service I receive is personal. He avoids the areas I ask him to avoid such as my garden and fruit trees. In the few times that there was a tread mark left, they came back and fixed it. My lawn retains moisture and as we try to restore some areas, it is susceptible to tread marks. I've renewed for a new year and look forward to seeing just how good my grass can look! read more

One of my worst experiences ever. Owner has a real attitude when discussing billing issue. Also my wife was home one of the times they were here to mow our lawn. She assumes it was the boss who showed up in white business truck. He was very unprofessional and was loud when correcting his workers about something they had done wrong at a previous location. I don't like hearing people are being treated like second class citizens when being corrected for doing something wrong. My neighbors even stopped over later asking what the commotion was all about. Will never do business with this company ever again. One of the workers didn't even speak English and the other worker seemed more like a translator. If you are think about hiring a lawn crew, go else where. read more

HIRE THEM! When we moved into our house 12 years ago it was a foreclosure and everything was so overgrown, our entire corner was crabgrass, and i was giving a solid showing in the run for the award of suburban lawn with the highest number of interesting and odd looking weeds- except none of it was actually interesting, just horrifying, and there are no real awards. I had tried using other companies, but saw no change. I tried to maintain my lawn myself, which saved me no money and just led to frustration, and again, no awards. Nothing made it better. We just couldn't seem to recover and pull it out of embarrassment territory no matter how hard we tried. I was seriously ready to pull all my grass out and start over with new sod. I considered burning my crabgrass, or something equally dramatic and useless. BUT THEN.....last year I hired Doehling Landscape, and everything changed. I can come out of my house in the summer and talk to my neighbors without feeling like I have to apologizing for being a drain on their property values. I now have a lawn I am proud of. Matt spent time on the phone with me teaching me about my specific lawn, the unique challenges it has, and how to change my watering/mowing to maximize the benefits of what his company was going to do. Every time they came out they were kind, professional, and seemed genuinely happy to see me. Let's be honest, having someone smile at you these days is it's own gift all by itself. Lawn or no lawn. They even blew the leaves off my driveway and sidewalk and made our yard look ridiculously next level. (I may or may not have gone strutting around outside after they left each time, relishing in the glory of it all. If you ask me, I will deny this.) They would address any issues or questions I had, never treating me as if it was an inconvenience to do so. They send out an email a few days before service telling you what is going to happen, when, and what you need to do to prepare for their arrival. I love well run companies. This is one of those companies. These guys are "your guys." You have lawn people now, as soon as you hire them. Do yourself the favor and call them now so you don't have to spend one more second thinking about your lawn. You can thank me later, while you are strutting around your yard too. read more
