We were very pleased with our lawn care applications and thought the service was very fairly priced. However after 1 no show from a tech who supposedly was on his way to another tech thinking nobody was home and only spraying the front lawn and not our big back yard we are not happy. I left many messages for management and called back multiple times with no response. The last straw was when our lawn was serviced last week and our gate was left open. We have 2 large pitbulls that are dog aggressive and we were stuck looking all over the neighborhood and praying they had not bitten another dog. Again after I called very upset I got no response. I cancelled our service ASAP and will not recommend them to any friends or neighbors. read more

They make you pay for a yearly service in advanced. They are about 40-50% higher than local companies but I thought I'd give them a shot considering I'm having no luck with locals. Service tech was polite. The service wasn't up to par with what they said. Never did a soil analysis. Didn't address pet spots. Didn't address thin areas of the lawn. Called to have them come back out and treat the excessive amount of weeds I have. No call or text for 2 weeks. Got an email stating they tried to contract me. Never came out. No better than any other run of the mill lawn service. Come out and spray and nothing else. Going with local arborist. We'll see if I get my money back or not. read more

Terrible DO NOT USE. They claim to have a 100% guarantee but failed to deliver a weed-free lawn. When I complained they scorched my lawn, kept claiming a manager would contact me to set up a time to come out and look at the lawn and hear my complaints but lied and never would send one out. They kept charging me and I had to complain to me credit card company to reverse the charges and block them from charging the card again. TOTAL RIP OFF. read more

December 2023 we paid in full for 2024 service. Just this week (Sept 10, 2024) we were billed a small charge on our credit card. The explanation was that there was a price increase. I paid for a contract in March and since then, they have only shown up for 2 of their 4 appointments. The treatments worked well initially but since the service wasn't staying on schedule, the broadleaf weeds and Crab Grass have returned so now I'm back at Square One. I called to cancel the service but Tru Green will only refund a partial amount instead of acknowledging their own failure to meet the terms of the contract and refund all my money. I now have the same issue as before and I'm paying them about $120. I would not recommend this provider to anyone. Not honest brokers. read more

Trugreen is horrendous. My husband and I are incredibly dissatisfied with my experience this past 6 months. My weeds actually increased in quantity and density while my grass looked subpar all summer and fall. I am still waiting for my winterizer application. It's already been rescheduled twice now. It's almost December! Every time I call I get someone who clearly is overseas. This entire company is outsourced which is the root of a lot of these issues. This company is complete and utter sh*t. We had TruGreen do our lawn last year. They came and measured and told us our rate would be $90 for each lawn application. We were told this rate would be good for two years. We had our first application done this spring and were charged $180. We called and were told that this is our new rate. I was told that we should have received a letter notifying us of this price but after speaking with customer service I was told that a letter was never mailed out to us. We have spoken to six different people all confirming that we would not have to pay this bill because we did not agree to this new price. We canceled service and trusted that TruGreen would take care of our bill because that is what we were told by six different people. WELL they did not and we just received notice that they sent us to collection. Way to go TruGreen, don't trust them, horrible customer service. read more

I won't know if TruGreen is a good service or not. Their customer service person told me not to call back an hung up...so I guess I'll type instead. We wanted to start services for our lawn. Spoke with a representative one day, and received an email the next. the email noted another price and address...a simple fix. We called to correct this. the customer service person was simply rude and kept explaining to my wife that she didn't understand their process?? I told him he just lost a customer, and he said not to call back and hung up... I've worked in customer service for 24 years. I know people are hurting, but we simply have jobs to do. I don't want to be treated poorly if I have questions. I'm sure this company has many positives as well, but for me, we will not find out. read more

I was pretty happy with the service they provided. I thought the application did exactly what expected. My issue is with billing. We signed up on a promo rate, and were charged the full cost of the application. Then this morning they charged for a pre-pay for a full season of mosquito spray, which we did not authorize. This was my first and last experience using TruGreen Lawn Care. We have had to contact them numerous times to come back and spray our back yard which is gated, however, left unlocked for them when we knew they were coming only to have them continuously not spray back there. Of the 5 services they have only done the back twice even after numerous attempts contacting them reminding them of such. They also were to only have done one mosquito treatment and went ahead with other mosquito treatments without my consent and charged my credit card $125.95 for each. When I last called I asked to speak to a supervisor and the girl would not put me through to anyone and just kept saying someone would call me back. I tried the corporate office number only to be directed right back to the place I have continuously been in contact with. I don't see how scheduling an aeration visit could have been more confusing. First, I waited 2 weeks past when I was told it would be done and finally called. I wasn't on the schedule. They scheduled me for the following week, but then left a message asking if I had a sprinkler system when I already indicated I didn't. Horrible service with product and customer service. I had them for two years now and just fired them. Last year they did an average job. I decided to go with them again this year. We got the mosquito guarantee services as well. Unfortunately we were bit by mosquito every day. We called all summer long to have them come back out and respray and every time it was always a couple weeks out even with there mosquito guarantee to have them come back out in between services. I complained the first time and they said they'll give us a credit for next year. That's their tactic of making sure we continue to use them. So lame. Finally this last time I called and complained that the mosquito service is not working and that we need someone to come out right away. This was Wednesday and they said they will expedite this to squeeze us in for Friday. Didn't hear anything from them all day and was expecting atleast an update. I called back later that day and asked why was there no updates. The other rep said it was scheduled for Monday and had no notes of being expedited for Friday. Finally I was sick of all the unprofessional service and incompetent services we received. I told them to cancel all of my service and to also give me the credit that was promised to me for next year as well. They said they couldn't do that even though it was promised to do so. Seems like they will only do it if you stayed with them. Very unprofessional! Asked to speak with the manager and request a manager to call me to discuss my issues. This could've been resolved and I could've still stayed with the company but seems like no one wanted to help me. I'll take my money else where. I'm a real estate investor as well and my properties will not be using their services nor will I recommend it to any of the thousand real estate investors in my network. I have been using TruGreen since around 2008 after a co-worker recommended them. Their treatment price is locked in/grandfathered since they continued service from prior own of their home. My rates do go up a little. My home is on close to a 1/2 acre lot & treatments cost $56.68 each currently. It was $48.95 in 2012. The aeration in May was $102.14. The first year I ordered service too late & still had weeds. The 2nd season the weeds were greatly diminished. I think by the 3rd season they were completely gone. The first treatment was a little late this year (early May; they were here mid March last year) but no weeds at all on this big lot. My lawn is proof that their treatments work. My lawn is attached to two neighbors lawns; both of which have crab grass & weeds. Mine is weed free. It is important to get your first treatment before weeds germinate (for crabgrass before soil temperature reaches 60 degrees fahrenheit). The last couple of years the treatment reports are typed & easy to read (my "specialist" has terrible handwriting). They always leave a couple containers of pretty green salt before winter snow on the last treatment of the season. Mid October was the last treatment of the season in 2016. I like that they treat the entire lawn surface (Scotts only spot treats after first application of the season). read more

If you like being ignored, lied to, and stolen from, this is the lawn service company for you! TruGreen likes to take your money and run. I was sad to cancel my TruGreen service this morning, as the service they provided the first two years was outstanding. Unfortunately throughout this current season of service the company has: 1) Completely ignored approximately 1,500 square feet of my lawn while billing me for its treatment; 2) Neglected corners, borders, and edges; 3) Allowed pesky thistles to return throughout the lawn after successfully eradicating them the first two years; 4) Applied inappropriate amounts of treatment as evidenced by the broadleaf weeds / crab grass growing throughout my lawn; 5) Proceeded with and billed me for these unacceptable services despite telling me services would be paused until I spoke with a manager and; 6) Most offensively, completely ignored SIX polite requests, placed through customer service, to speak with a manager who could address these problems. The management in the Milwaukee office seems to have made a best-practice of ignoring their residential customers in favor of large corporate accounts. read more

Hello, I have had True Green for 2 years , my yard is worse than when True Green started. I was sold the guarantee service, what guarantee, they guarantee nothing. I called and called to get someone to come and talk to me about my yard, it took 6 weeks for then to even call back. I then again asked for someone to come and talk to me, sure they said, setup an appointment. They showed up in the middle of the day and never called me to let me know. I then called again, now I was angry and someone finally came to talk to me, it was a sales person. He told me that if I purchased the fall aeration and over seeding it would fix my bare spots and get my grass on the right track for the next spring. The bare spots are worse this year then last year. I have had to pull teeth to get anyone to call me back again this year or even come and look at my lawn. I was told last year by the sales person, that a lawn needs up to an inch to and inch and 1/2 of water per week to keep it healthy, ok , no problem. When we know it is not going to rain does not rain for a few days we water every other day and leave puddles in the still there bare spots.They had the nerve to ask how we measured the water we put on the lawn, seriously!!!!! I would not recommend them to anyone. They are the worst, bad customer service, no call backs, just very unprofessional. I was told I have a disease, they could not tell me what my lawn had and never offered to help determine what was needed to fix the issue. So much for their soil testing , are they not a lawn company, how do they do not know what the disease is, come on, what a joke. Again I purchased the guaranteed service, again, what guarantee. Every application has been a nightmare. First, they cannot open my gate, which is the most basic gate there is. Second, recently they treated the wrong lawn instead of mine - they did the neighbor's. What a joke. Third, the application person will skip the application but the people at customer service will tell you they did it - so there is a lack of communication. Fourth, I signed up for email and phone notifications to know when my lawn has been treated but I have never received any email or call. Very disappointing. Fifth, I am receiving my final treatment and asking for a refund. I hope the nightmare ends soon. Rise up everyone because they need less customers. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I called and requested some information about their lawn services last spring. When I talked to the representative over the phone, I realized that they were going to be too far out of my budget to go through with any services. I explained to the rep that I would not be going with them and thanked him for his time while apologizing for wasting his time. He then told me he'd give me a deal if I made the decision at that moment to use them. I felt very pressured and politely said no thank you and ended the call. Let me tell you, from there, I was receiving 5 phone calls a day from the different locations in the area, and after I figured out where these random calls were coming from I started blocking them. But to no avail, I have STILL been receiving calls. The same number has called me seven times this week. It has been a year since I said no. Leave me alone!!! read more
