BUYER BEWARE: I am so understanding there will always be issues with service plans. And I called the company 4 times trying to give them the opportunity to fix their shortcomings. Each time I called I was told a different story one when my last treatment happened and when my next treatment would happen. Each time I called I asked for a call from a manager call back or to have someone come by the house and look at the issues. I was told each time that someone would call me within 24-48 hours. Only 1 of the 4 times did someone call, I missed the phone call by a split second and they just left a message saying I would have to call back and request another phone call. The pictures I have attached are from 12 days from a respray I had to request. I was then informed when I just called that I was actually charged for the respray without authorization and it clearly did nothing for the yard. If you go with them pay attention to the spray schedule. They sprayed my yard on 6/17 and had no plans to come back until 8/24. When they say a free respray it's false. I was assured multiple times it was free. It wasn't. I should also note this isn't new- I have been a customer for 2 years. The first year I just figured I was the new homeowner and maybe the last one didn't take care of the yard and it would take time. It's now year 2. This shouldn't be an issue. read more

I rarely write reviews, but this TruGreen location is the absolute worst! After a year of my yard not improving, they actually offered me free services until "my lawn looked as good as my neighbors". Three months later, no improvements, terrible response to my phone calls, they finally told me they couldn't help me with my yard. I think my yard has actually gotten worse since they've been working on it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!!! read more

We called to get a quote for services a couple days ago and service rep acted annoyed when we weren't willing to commit on the spot to a +$500 quote and then TruGreen has called multiple times every day this week. My partner finally answered one of their calls and the service rep was very passive aggressive and unprofessional stating he had just had a meeting was office about needing more business. He was very rude when services were declined. We will no longer consider TruGreen in the future due to this experience.. read more

I should have read the previous reviews before I used this company. In the year I have used this company I have seen no improvement in my yard, and in some areas, weeds have gotten worse. My yard looks terrible. I now have more weeds than ever. When I called, the customer service person wanted to blame me for not maintaining my yard. Three weeks ago, after being called by TruGreen of Maple Grove several times a week for the past few months, I decided to purchase a lawn care plan. They came out and sprayed fertilizer and the next day I noticed my healthy grass turning brown. Over the past three weeks I have called and emailed the local rep Jim Gustafson day after day and never received a response from him. TruGreen corporate told me they would have a manager come out and also to expect a call within 24 hours, neither happened. I reached out again and they said a manager would call me back within 24 hours, still nothing. Their facebook page, along with other forums have a large percent of reviewers stating they have had similar experiences and TruGreen ignores their complaints with no resolution. I wish I would have done my research prior to hiring TruGreen. They have refused to issue a refund even though I have paid for several treatments which I have asked to be canceled due to my first experience. This is a company where no one seems to be held accountable. Thanks TruGreen for killing my lawn and having the worst customer service experience of my life. I wish I could do a negative 1000 stars. They are the worst. The technician does not follow the instructions and was snippy when asking him to do certain areas. Only to find when I turned my back he never did. I have more weeds than my neighbors and they do their own spraying. I asked for a full refund and they declined. I called for my parents about weeds problem (my parents do not speak English), the guy was on the phone with me just acted that I was very annoying and literally yelled at me, I was freak out because I did not know he will be like that and I started to cry LOL. And I know the price that will about 300-400 because my neighbor already done it two days ago but when I asked he did not give any "just weeds problem" he literally added some of the other stuff in it and the price up to 700 WTH. The phone calls NEVER stop they call me daily trying to get me to switch back to their company. The sales call never ever stop. I have told them repeatedly to remove my number from their list and they say they will but they continue to call. Don't ever give these people your name, address or phone number. read more

Horrible customer service! Techs have shown up and I have watched them drive away without ever getting out of the truck. Then I get a notification that my lawn service has been completed. Then when I call I was told it was completed, I just can't tell because it is a spray! Total BS! A waste of time and money! read more

Signed up for service with TruGreen for mosquito control and was to get a callback with our scheduled date for service which never occurred. After two days, I called back to find out why we hadn't been scheduled and was told our account was somehow removed from the system. So, we signed up again hoping this time things would go well; however, we once again never received a call with our scheduled date and I needed to call them to get that information. After speaking with the representative they told me we were scheduled for Thursday, May 31...perfect. It only took a whole week to get the date scheduled but I just wanted the service completed. Thursday, May 31 at 6:30am I receive a text message that our technician was on his way and would be arriving between 8:00-9:35am...I thought great! At 4:06pm, I received a text message that the job was unable to be complete but no reason why. Once again, I found myself calling Customer Service who was unable to help (not sure why they're called Customer Service). They were unable to tell me why it was not completed, they could not tell when it WOULD be completed, they could not speak with anyone at the local branch because there's no way to get a hold of them, they could only send email to the local branch to have them call me (...which did not work the first time because they never called me) I have yet to receive (1) phone call from the local branch and am very upset that after wasting all this time I still could not get (1) service appointment scheduled or completed. Not sure how this company makes money when service is not performed and no one knows how to call a customer back nor did they seem to care when I wanted to cancel. All I wanted was my yard sprayed for mosquito and this has wasted more time and effort than anything. If you're unable to perform a service due to issues out of your control the customer should be next on schedule when the problem is fixed...just saying. I don't typically write reviews...but this is the second time TruGreen has started the application of lawn treatment without my authorization and charged me for the services. In previous years I signed up for a 5 application deal with them and was not impressed during the process but knowing there was only a couple treatments left and I had already paid for it, I just let them complete the final applications of the package. Fast forward 9 months later, I come home to have a TruGreen stake in my yard saying they performed an application. I call to inquire about this and they inform me that they set all of their clients up on auto-renewal of their services...I asked if they do this even when someone is just buying a specific "package" and she said yes. I feel this business practice is very deceptive and no one mentioned anything about me being locked into any renewal when I purchased the 5 application package from them. The lady whom answered the phone was apologetic and I could tell she ran into this often and she worked to cancel and to see if she could even refund me (we'll see if that happens). Why a company would instill a deceptive policy that puts their employees in a position to continuously apologize for their behavior is beyond me and regardless of if the applications work or not I would never recommend a company that operates this way. read more

I tried TruGreen out last summer in Big Lake. In the past I use Ortho weed be gone and did applications myself. I tried Trugreen out and was not impressed at all. We ended up getting several weeds even after several applications. The Tech also sprayed our garden killing everything inside. They did absolutely nothing that I couldn't have done on my own. I considered it a wash and moved on. Fast forward to this spring. I have now received 6 phone calls trying to get my service back, I was polite during the first 2 and stated I was not interested and told them why. On the 3rd call I was firm and stated to stop calling me, 4th and beyond I got a little more angry each time. This company is unorganized and does very mediocre work. I will not give them another penny of my money. If the phone calls continue I will make it my life's work to spread the word on how much I hate this company. ****Update***** I am over 10 phone calls now, and they are saying the same thing again and again, oh our call center is a little messed up but I'm a local guy I'll get you removed. They are also hiding my review saying they don't recommend it although the Maple Grove branch is the one continuously calling. read more

We have been with TRu Green for at least 8 years. However, our lawn is ruined this year from last year's grub problem, which Tru Green claimed they had treated. I'm not even sure how we got grubs (we never had this problem before). We tried calling customer service multiple times in a couple of weeks. They finally returned our call after almost 2 weeks. They kept passing our calls around, as though another department is in charge of compensating us. The local branch manager told my husband that they would give us a package of grass seed for compensation. About 150 square feet of our backyard lawn is ruined. They didn't even come to check on it. We have been doing all the work-scraping the dead grass....now, there are patches of bald spots everywhere from raccoons digging up our yard for the grubs that was supposed to have been treated by TruGreen! Tru Green was okay for 8 years that we had them, BUT they don't really guarantee their work. We are still waiting for a phone call from the billing department, which was what the local branch manager told us was the next step. We called on 5/4, and they have done NOTHING! The least they should do is come to our house and check out the damage. Poor customer service! I will NOT recommend them. Go with Green Guard instead. I called them, and I received a phone call the same day...from the owner! Tru Green just wants you to sign up for services, and when something goes wrong, they drop you like a rock! Bad customer service!!!! I would not sign up with them EVER and I will be telling my freinds, relatives, and neighbors how bad their service is!!!! read more

TruGreen has the worst customer service and follow through of any company we have ever worked with. We made a very big mistake by prepaying for the entire season of treatments. They do not show up when they say they will and will not return our calls. Nor does it help to call TruGreen centralized call center. They always say they will contact the Maple Grove office, but we still never get a response. We have concluded they have no motivation to service our yard since it was prepaid. Again, big mistake on our part. At this point we are trying to get a refund for all the prepaid services, but since they will not return our calls it will probably require further action on our part. (We have also noticed they seem to have very high turn over. We have been given three names and direct phone numbers to call when we have a problem, but each of them no longer works there.
