But I am now choosing to look elsewhere because of a shocking new and dangerous policy they just put in place. It has been one year since my last visit when I was prescribed one year on my blood-pressure medication. I submitted a refill request with my pharmacy five days ago. They did not respond to the pharmacy. The pharmacy put in the request again and the request was denied with no explanation. I called the clinic and was told there are no grace periods. It has been one year and they would not refill my prescription until I came in for an appointment. The staff member refused to acknowledge my concerns about an in person visit until I was fully vaccinated for Covid-19. In fact, she made me feel like my concerns were not valid. I was told insurance would no longer pay for phone consultations. I had to come to the clinic. I asked for one month. In that time I could be fully vaccinated. I was denied. She said it was a strict policy and there was nothing she could do. No refills until an appointment. I am in complete shock. I told her that policy was unreasonable and that if they cared so little about their patients that I would have to make a change. Without a care in her voice she said "ok". Well I am not "ok". My blood-pressure is thru the roof. I can not believe they would rather have me go to the emergency room than give me any additional time on the prescription. All so they can make money on the appointment? That is cold.

I am now scheduled for a 5 year re-exam. Scheduling was a little bit of a problem in that the telephone number given in the email notification goes to an automated system that switches to voice mail after an extended wait on hold. Calls were not returned, so I had to contact Dr Dewar's office at the number I had from a previous visit.

He takes his time, answers your questions, and can make you smile! He's performed many colonoscopies and endoscopies on me and even referred me to a great surgeon the times it was required. I do wish it was easier getting a quick appointment sometimes but I think the people up front do their best to work you in where and when they can. His nurse Nina is also very nice and informative, if I get her voicemail she's always prompt to call me back. Overall, if you need a gastro Dr, he's the man to see! Big thumbs way up for Dr. Dewar! Dr. McDaniel spent about 30 minutes with me going over family/medical history and really took the time to listen to my concerns. He was taking notes and asking questions. Then a good thorough exam and recommendations for improving my health. One of the few doctors still left in private practice and a great one. I will be back until he retires-then I have to go find someone as good which isn't easy to do.

When I called to schedule the appointment, the receptionist hurried the conversation with little interest so that it lasted for less than 5 minutes. I let her know I was using the medical savings plan, Multiplan (ValuePoint), not insurance, which she knew in a general sense. Nothing about the fact that the clinic would not accept it was mentioned. I had to find that out 3 weeks later on the day of my appointment... I entered the clinic and turned in my new patient paperwork, having already filled it out and printed it ahead of time. In the beginning, the receptionist (another woman) was cordial and friendly, but once I informed her that I used Multiplan, and how the billing process was explained to me, her mood shifted. I provided her with a phone number to call for clarification, but instead, she left the front desk and spoke with a billing specialist in the back. When she returned, she sternly notified me that they would not be participating in the program, because they only accept Multiplan *insurance*, and what I had was the discount plan. Concerned that I hadn't explained it correctly, and that this was perhaps the reason I was being refused (this clinic had been the first one named on the approved list of providers I was given by Multiplan), I had a representative on the phone and asked the receptionist if she would be comfortable speaking with them. She looked at me with a vexed expression and repeated herself in a slow, and condescending manner, adding that "[they] don't have the staffing to sit on the phone all day and enter the individual codes for each of my visits." My worst fear had come true. I felt that because I wasn't using insurance, but instead a medical savings plan, I would be treated like someone who was too poor to receive their services. Lastly, when I chose to cancel the appointment, there was no sympathy or at least a professional courtesy remark like "we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused", "we wish we could help", or even "thank you for considering us." I walked away and that was it, after 3 weeks of waiting... The only type of consideration I received was from the Multiplan representative who was *still* on the line for me, waiting patiently... Generally speaking, people working at the front desk of a facility represent the integrity of the institute and the professionals they work with. This was a sorely disappointing experience that I wasted a lot of time on. My patience was met with a curt disservice. The women working at the front desk of BOTMC gave me the worst impression. I was looking forward to meeting the nurse practitioner and visiting the clinic for nearly a month. It's already difficult finding a place and then setting up an appointment. The worst that could happen is being treated with little care. P.S. Even the phone service representative who handles their calls whenever they're on a lunch break was rude.

Very nice place. We went for some MRI's today, the lobby is very spacious and open, looks newly…read morerenovated or newly built, not sure which, tho it looks really good. Staff at the information counter was very nice and helpful. MRI area was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Got in and out fairly quickly. Only drawback, is there is NO patient or client parking. The one parking lot in the back is for staff only and the door that faces the parking lot is only accessible by access badge. Park back there and you have to walk around to the street front entry. They did have free valet parking for patients, but that parking is across the street, several on the street itself. The young woman parking and retrieving the vehicles looked college age, with a TCU shirt on, being so young that was concerning for me, I didn't feel comfortable with someone parking my expensive vehicle on a street or in a tight parking lot. Outside of not having a parking lot, the experience was really good.

Amazing staff and processes…read more My wife comes here every other month for an infusion. We've been coming here for these for about 2 years now. I have to say that everyone, from the security staff as you walk in, to the intake staff upstairs to the clinicians once you been called to have your infusion. Everyone has always had a cheery disposition and have been most helpful. Thank you Moncrief Cancer Center for such compassionate staff and great processes.

The shot room managment is efficient and I enjoy brief chats with everyone in the back that gives shots. The front desk staff and billing has always worked with me if I had questions or needed help figuring with insurance. Dr. Hayden and Ben explain things well and will take time to answer questions you have. Anna is my favorite front desk person and I normally go to her as first choice. Sherry and Rebecca are also incredibly helpful. I highly recommend this allergist.
