I have the misfortune of taking a loan out with these people via some HVAC work my wife and I had…read moredone on our home. I had never heard of these people before this. After I went out of town for an extended period my wife tried logging in on their website to make a payment. The home page clearly shows a "log in" and "password" area to populate. Here's the problem... we DONT use the log in on their home page to make this payment to HFCU. My wife was trying to log in to the Hopewell website to make a payment to Hopewell. Sounds intuitive right? Wrong. My wife simply thought I had provided the wrong log in and/or password information when she was unable to repeatedly log in. In order to make this special payment she needed to click on a small link you find after scrolling down to the bottom of their home page that says "webpay". No where on their website does Hopewell explain to people there exists a SECOND area of their website you need to go... to log in with entirely different credentials no less. also, there is NO way to set up automatic payments on their website if any of you are wondering why we didnt do that. please do not expect any 21st century luxuries with Hopewell Federal Credit Union. So, fast forward to my coming home. I receive a Lifelock alert stating my credit report changed. I go to view my report and sure enough that day Hopewell had dinged my credit for a late payment last month. I asked my wife and she told me she tried logging in and couldnt while I was away. It was a $30 payment and she didnt really think twice about it. After looking at their website again and realizing she had tried to log in where it says to log in I understand the problem. YOU DO NOT LOG IN ON THE HOPEWELL SITE WHERE IT TELLS YOU TO LOG IN!!!!! its the most confusing banking website I have ever seen. Its incredibly poorly designed. Even after my logging in the special link at the bottom I am 100% unable to see my account balance!!! WHAT KIND OF BANK DOESNT GIVE YOU YOUR BALANCE INFORMATION AFTER LOGGING IN TO MAKE A PAYMENT???? what kind of bank, again, does not permit you to set up automatic payments on their website? I called the bank after realizing the confusion my wife had. ohhh... i immediately made two payments on the account before calling. I had the misfortune of speaking with Nancy Baker, the chief operating officer of HFCU. Nancy, despite me showing her you CANT log in where the website says log in, chalked up the mistake to my wife simply being an idiot. "no one else makes this mistake" she explained to me. Despite the fact people do NOT log in where the website says to log in... she refused to help my wife and myself out with the late payment report for the previous month. we have NEVER had a pate payment on our credit report. NEVER!!!! and this account has been open for almost 2 years!!!!!!! Nancy Baker made me feel like an idiot and the implication was clearly my wife must be an idiot for simply following the instructions at the top of the Hopewell Federal Credit Union page. the chief operating officer, nancy baker, took no responsibility for the fact YOU DO NOT LOG IN WHERE THE WEBSITE SAYS TO LOG IN on their home page. its extremely messed up. I have NEVER seen a bank website so ass backwards. I have never seen a bank website where you could not set up automatic payments. I have never seen a bank website that would NOT give you your account balance even after logging in to make a payment. The chief operating office at HFCU, Nancy Baker, gives bankers and banking a terrible name. Do not deal with these people unless they are the last bank in town. Trust me. Its bad enough they are willing to ding your credit 15 days after being late the first time. Do not look for these people to have any type of care or concern about you and/or your family. They are cold hearted automatons desperately in need for a real web designer to come along and bring their website up to 21st century standards. I guess their happy they have a website at all.

Friendly, helpful people who care about my needs and know their business (and mine!). I have dealt with some other area banks for work and other reasons, but have not really been pleased with them or some of their policies. I recently had a fraud alert and was able to call someone to head off problems and even delete things from my cellphone that had been installed remotely. Very grateful for that!!

However, it's nonexistent in Ohio. I tried Park National for a little bit and was unsatisfied. Once I left for summer, I got a call weeks later saying I overdrafted and owe the bank around $300 dollars. I disputed and argued and it turns out it was their mistake. Chase is right across the street, and they give you $25 bucks for starting an account if you start it at the start of the school year! I'm sure Park National is good for in-state users, but if you're out of state, there are better options!

I worked with both Summer, and Holly at this location. They knew their stuff and offered me the best possible scenario for my car loan. They seemed genuinely interested in me as a person, and we're very friendly. People's Bank also offered me the best interest rates, and the best conditions that were unparalleled at Fifth-third, Chase, Park National, and Huntington.
