Ask the Community - True Vision Optical

How much is a contact exam?

Prices for contacts are very hard to discuss without knowing the patient's need and the amount of follow up visits required. $120-$160 for most common contacts. $199 for Multifocal Fitting (includes 4 visits). Medical contacts start in $250 up to… Read more

I have been using glasses since 13 years of age and have been to multiple places for glasses. Never…read moretried or considered Walmart until my doctor mentioned it. Fast forward and my visit to the Walmart Vision Center and my experience. I was greeted immediately and helped by Astrude. She doubted my prescription and showed it to Rey the vision center manager. Years of experience pays off as Rey immediately knew it was off. Both Rey and Astrude working as a team called my doctor who faxed them a corrected prescription. All done without me getting involved, good customer service! Fast forward to about 5 days, I get a call my glasses are in. Two wonderful young opticians helped make the final tweaks. Thank you Frances and Danny for making those glasses fit just right. Morale of the story, yes it's WalMart but they do glasses right, and I get a two year guarantee!!!

Bad experience and would not recommend. My 12 year old needed his first set of glasses. I needed…read morereading glasses. The place where we had our eye exams had stunning glasses. They were all the latest designer frames and accordingly expensive. We wanted to check out some less expensive frames so we tried Walmart Vision Center. The people that work there are pretty clueless. When we first walked in we asked an associate if they took our insurance. She answered yes without hesitation so we proceeded to look at frames for about an hour. When we were ready to purchase some frames the optician was at lunch, so unless we waited for at least another half hour we could not purchase the frames. We asked the associate to hold the frames and said we would be back tomorrow. When I returned the next day with my son to buy the glasses we were told that Walmart Vision was not in network for our insurance. Why couldn't they have told us that on our first visit, before we wasted so much time there? The place does have some decent frames that are reasonable, even without insurance, butter service is terrible!

I love this optical! It's super easy to book an appointment at your convenience here…read more Although, I dont regularly go here for my exams as I have a regular main eye doctor. However, when I need an appointment quick and the couple of times I have gone here I was impressed with how quick the process was and the cost wasn't expensive! You can't find that for many eye exams, especially the quick wait times. Though I'm not always here for exams I am however, always here to order my new glasses and contact prescription. I suggest you reach out to the optician that works here, Luis. I've been going to him for years and he always steers my family and I towards high quality frames and lenses at an affordable price. I never have to worry about my budget here. He knows what he's talking about and it shows. The optical selection seems small but there's a wide variety of frames both for glasses and sunglasses. It's extremely easy for me to find my next pair of glasses here. There's also sales going on for their frames as well as other deals if you have a target optical account. They are also being cautious of safety for customers. There's a sign that has you wait outside the optical until given the ok to walk in as to limit people in the optical. Additionally, you are allowed to try on frames but there are trays where you can place the frames in so they know which frames need to be sanitized. Be sure to stop here if you're in need of great frames at good prices and for quick and helpful eye exams!

LasikPlus - LasikPlus Miramar

If you are hesitant about getting LASIK, take it from me, just do it. I am 53 years old and have…read morebeen burdened with glasses and/or contacts for 47 years of my life, I have done Lasik consultations before and was always too scared to proceed. The staff at LasikPlus changed all of that. The entire staff was great from start to finish. Heather Mott was great and answered all of my questions during my initial consultation and after, she also did a great job of following up with me, even 4 months after my first visit. Denia Zolaica was amazing and was able to "talk me off the ledge" the day of my surgery last Thursday. As I mentioned before, 47 years is a long time to wear glasses/contacts and I could not fathom the idea of doing without them and almost walked out of the office the day of my surgery. The staff realized my anxiety and did their best to calm my nerves, and Denia in particular was amazing. She brought me in to her office and did an amazing job of explaining the procedure in detail and helping me deal with my anxiety (the 2 Valiums that she prescribed me did not hurt either). Finally, Dr. Karp has a way of making a patient feel welcome and exudes the utmost confidence in the service (a medical miracle in my opinion) that he provides. Since day one, Dr. Karp assured me that I was a great candidate and that all would go well, and the result far exceeded my expectations. The procedure itself is miraculous, the hardest part for me was the anticipation in the waiting room. Each eye takes about 30 seconds and after my first eye was done, I could already see clearly. Since then, with each passing day, my eyes feel better and better and today the staff confirmed that my vision is now 20/15. Like I said, a medical miracle for someone that has not known life without glasses for nearly 50 years. I still wear readers to see things up close but that is due to my age, distance-wise everything is now in HD for me. Do yourself a favor, do the Lasik, you will not regret it! The staff at LasikPlus will be with you every step of the way and I am sure you will walk out of there kicking yourself for not having done Lasik sooner, I sure did!

I went to my annual eye doctor appointment and wound up with a new prescription for contacts and…read moreglasses. Given that I have vision insurance and that I've gone to another Visionworks store in the past where I had a great experience, I went to this location nearby. Admittedly I was dreading this chore, mainly because anyone who knows me knows I absolutely detest wearing my glasses. Yes, I know that I need to rest my eyes, and I do wear them, just not in public (unless I am given no choice). I hadn't bought a pair of glasses in two or three years as my main form of vision correction is contacts, but eh, my vision changed enough to justify a new pair. That and my insurance covers a new pair every couple of years anyway. It was time, even if I loathed to admit it. I went in and didn't wait long on a Saturday afternoon. Ginny was my girl and she's a star at customer service. She made me feel super heard, especially considering she checked several options for me in terms of my insurance plan. What I mean by that is that she made sure I got the best deal possible. Of course, too, she helped me pick out a new pair of glasses, which was a pain in itself as I have a small face. Oh, and she placed the order for contact lenses, too, but that was honestly the easy part. I ended up getting told I'd get my items in around ten days or so, and well, that's exactly how it went. I found out via text and via e-mail. There was only one slight issue. While I was notified of my glasses being ready, my contacts kept being listed as order pending. I had to call to figure out what was going on. Once an employee finally answered, it turns out that my contacts were ready, too, and that the website just had a mind of its own. Needless to say, the technology aspect needs some work. Otherwise, everything ran smoothly, and upon picking up my items, I even saw Ginny again, who helped mold the glasses to the proper fit for me. She also let me know that if anything I could return and get them further fixed.
