I'm always happy with the care and welcome I receive. Pudgy is a celebrity when he shows up.

Signed off that a new puppy was free of external and internal parasites for a breeder, but I found out my puppy was never actually tested.

Understandably, like many area businesses, they are overwhelmed and cannot take new clients. What is not understandable is why the person who answered the phone was so rude. She actually went out of her way to be rude and condescending. I have no doubt it must get annoying to have to tell people countless times a day that you are not accepting new patients, but perhaps mention that on the recorded message. You don't have to be kind but when someone is trying to get help for their best friend who is having frightening symptoms, you should really skip the whole being a jerk thing. I was able to find another vet and he got great care and is doing well now. I'm glad we were able to find another clinic because I would have taken him to this place despite the rudeness if they had been willing to see him, I was that desperate to get him help, but outside of a medical emergency, I would never want to place his care and well being in the hands of people like this. Imagine getting the honor and privilege to work with and care for animals all day and somehow still manage to be a horrible and miserable human.

Unfortunately, instead of compassion, we were met with rudeness and judgment. The staff member we spoke with was dismissive, belittling, and even brought up our recently deceased dog in a very insensitive tone. On top of that, she made a remark along the lines of "I don't know how people can have dogs when they can't pay for their vet bill," which was incredibly hurtful and unprofessional. Emergencies happen, and families deserve empathy not criticism when they're trying to care for a beloved pet. Most of the staff here were kind and professional, but unfortunately our experience was ruined by the receptionist. we were met with insensitivity and judgment, which made an already difficult situation so much harder. I'm deeply disappointed by the lack of compassion shown during such a stressful time. Pet owners go to the vet hoping for help and kindness, not to be shamed.

Cold hearted, money driven - they are not there to help everyone, just those with loads of $$$. My dog had a puncture wound from running in the woods - an 8in long scrape with a very deep 1.5in puncture wound right in the middle of the scrape. The puncture itself was at an angle, and beyond anything I have ever treated on a dog. It was located on his chest extending down to his ribs. He was bleeding, and needed stitches. After almost 3 hours (a 40+ minute wait in the parking lot plus the 2+ hours they had him) I received a call about his status. He had not been evaluated because "he didn't like them very much" (snippy from the fear and the pain he was in). They placed him in a kennel, did not muzzle him, did not look at his wound, and provided no treatment. YET, the call was to discuss how I was going to pay (estimated between $900 and $1900). When I explained I could not pay anything near that in full, he was refused any treatment. The most disheartening piece of this whole thing is that they already knew this before I brought him in. I called ahead driving from about an hour away. I told them what happened, my concerns, that he would likely be snippy because he is pain so please muzzle him, as well as the fact that I would only be able to pay the $185 emergency fee, and need to do a payment plan for the rest. If that was not an option, then why even take him? I could have treated it myself sooner, or attempted to find someone or somewhere else where he could receive care. The demeanour of the entire staff shifted the moment they realized I was not going to be able to pay. I was treated as a second class citizen, and forced to sign an AMA stating I consented to the refusal of care - which I did not, I just had no other choice. They delayed his care by 4 hours for something that could have been life threatening. There was no "bedside manner" - they even had the nerve to rub salt in the wound and say "hey, its not because we don't care." They don't care - not about anything but money. They offered no options, no help, and no treatment. My dog could have died - I have never been so disappointed with an establishment or its staff. I used them before for my other dog, but was financially stable at that time and had no issue. To have experienced such a drastically different response, SOLELY because of money, is inexcusable. I was lucky enough to get him into his regular vet 2 days later, and get him the proper treatment, antibiotics etc, for $160 - and after sharing with them my experience at LAVES, they too were in disbelief. "If you care, you would do something" - I couldn't agree more. For all you fortunate souls who are not in a situation of financial struggle - disregard this review. It serves not to slam the establishment, but to warn those who may be in similar shoes, so they do not have to go through what I just did.

My particular veterinarian who I really liked has been of their game for a while. Im being vague on purpose but my beautiful 2 year old boy died due to carelessness one week ago. I had a bad feeling going in knowing that my vet was just not paying attention to my concerns about his previous sensitivity to anesthesia. I don't think the technician had adequate experience. He died after receiving excessive anesthesia and a poor resuscitation effort. I don't think the Kindness animal Hospital staff is properly trained to manage a code situation. I was provided no explanation. The surgeon or tech did not meet me when I arrived to pick up his body. It has been a week since his death and no one from the office has had the decency to call me to review this tragedy or see how I was doing. If this was a two year old child there would be repercussions, an investigation. But careless veterinarians get away with murder and no one knows or cares. I used to speak highly of this animal hospital. I can't anymore. Do your best to find another place to take care of your animal family.

It's a beautiful office, the vets are well qualified and the staff has almost always been courteous, professional and upbeat. That changed yesterday. Several weeks ago we booked an appointment for annual check-ups/shots for all three dogs. We showed up for the appointment on time. The clinic was running behind considerably, by almost 30 minutes. Things happen, and docs get backed up. I understand that. A heads up call would have been nice, though. As we were waiting in the parking lot, my husband needed to use the restroom. Most adults can hold it. He can't. He's a 3x cancer survivor (sarcoma). His chemo treatment has left him unable to hold it. After sitting in the car in anguish, he politely knocked on the clinic door fully masked, told her he was fully vaccinated and asked if he could use the restroom. The woman with the blue hair (sorry, I don't know her name) answered the door and flat out told him no. Keep in mind that we're paying customers. Yesterday's vet visit likely would have cost us somewhere in the neighborhood of $600 based on our experience with other visits to this clinic. So, we drove down to the nearest Port-o-John so my husband could relieve himself. Meanwhile, I called the clinic and got blue hair lady on the phone. I was calm and pointed, making it clear that we would be taking our business elsewhere because of her lack of compassion for another human being. I wanted this to be a teaching moment for her. I explained my husband's cancer situation, and she said that she would have let him use the restroom if he had told her about his illness. I was aghast that a paying customer and fellow human being was expected to bare his soul to a stranger for some basic humanity. Not sure if she knows a lot of men, but most aren't exactly the soul baring types. Blue haired lady started to cry. She told me she was shaking. Truly, my intention wasn't to make her cry. It was to educate her on her profound ignorance and let her know she had lost a customer. I recognize that this country is a cesspool for inhumanity and narcissism right now. But, one has to wonder if they want their beloved pets being cared for by someone who displays such mean, judgmental and shortsighted behavior to another human being. I got a glimpse into who that person is, and I don't trust her to care for my pups. The beauty of capitalism is that I can take my business somewhere else. I'll not reward rudeness with my hard-earned dollar. There are plenty of qualified vets in the world whose staffs are considerate of both people and pets. **UPDATE** One of the docs left my husband a message. So disappointing and unproductive, claiming I "berated" her employee and hiding behind her Covid protocol. Typical clinician who hasn't a clue about how to run a customer-facing business and doesn't care about people. Why would I trust this person with my pups? Reaffirms our decision to not return to this clinic. Clearly, the management only empowers bad behavior from its employee.
