Well....this place is alright. As far as tattoo shops in central Maine go. Everyone was nice. I have had my nose pierced before but removed it (for my job at the time). I recently decided I wanted to have it pierced again. I called the shop ahead of time to ask how much piercings were and was told "$50 including the jewelry". I get to the shop, sign some forms and was again told "$50. Look around at these cases *motions to cases* they are our nose piercings". I waited for about an hour before their piercer could get to me (yes they were quite busy). I showed him the one I wanted (as I spent basically an entire hour looking). I then again asked how much that piercing was, he said "$70". I thought, cool, a little more expensive than $50 but I got a neat little 14K gold nose ring. No biggie. Before I sit in the chair, the receptionist calls me up to pay and my total was $130 dollars! I have the money, I can pay that's no problem. But what I had an issue with was feeling like information was purposefully withheld in order to make a higher sale. Not only is this dishonest, but left a bad taste in my mouth. The same jewelry I purchased in the shop, isn't even worth $70 online! Yeah, I could've said no. But I had already been waiting for so long AND the place was so packed..I got nervous saying no and going back to the drawing table. Pic for reference of what I got. Frustrated is an understatement. I called this morning and was told they took walk-ins, but I had to come in and put down a deposit to get my name on the list. So, I went over during my lunch break and was told I had an appointment for 5:30/6. I arrived at 5:30. I sat there until 8:00 when they closed- I was expected to stay past then, even though there were still 2 people in front of me getting bigger tattoos. When I initially made the appointment, she said the artists were done at 8:00. I thought there was no way I'd be there that long. Why didn't I leave? I tried to at one point and was told that I couldn't even move my appointment and that I would lose my deposit if I left. I was told I had to let somebody know 24 hours in advance of my cancellation, despite it being a same-day tattoo. Another patron even came in and jumped me in line because their tattoo was small, despite the fact that I was getting a tattoo even smaller than theirs (for reference: they got a butterfly, and I was going to be getting 2 simple letters on my wrists, which I attached a photo of so you know I'm not lying). I wasted nearly 5 hours today if you include the drives back and forth. I'm NEVER the type to bother/complain about customer service people, but this felt like I was trapped into sitting there for hours and still had to BEG for my deposit back before leaving without a tattoo. Took my daughter here for a birthday nose piercing. I messaged the shop through Facebook asking about the cost and the shop responded within the hour. My daughter and I walked in on a Saturday morning - no appointment necessary. We were greeted by friendly staff. Kat, the in-house piercing Goddess (she rocks!) was cool, knowledgeable, and patient with us since we had a million questions. It was my daughters first piercing and Kat explained the whole procedure. My daughter was beyond excited and felt totally at ease in the chair. It took mere seconds and boom! It looked like my daughter had had this nose ring forever! The shop itself is located in a cool historic building downtown. The inside is clean, with funky decor and artwork. Rock music playing gives you a real tattoolike experience! I felt the price was more than fair. $40.00 for the piercing and that included the jewelry. Got a tattoo by Kobeigh (APPRENTICE), tattoo looked nothing like the reference photo, which usually is not a big deal, but the tattoo I was given looks drastically odd (color wise). While being tattooed, the reference picture was not being used, which clearly shows lack attention to close detail. Something else that caught my attention was that she wrapped my tattoo before I could even look in the mirror to see it. I took my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for the first time. The staff members were warm, inviting and knowledgeable. Their interactions with Maddie were heartwarming as they did a great job making her feel comfortable. They asked what my budget was before picking out studs to ensure my child didn't fall in love with something we weren't prepared to purchase. Leena did such an amazing job with the piercing and was extremely patient with Maddie who was struggling to get the second lope done. James was my "artist". He took the picture I gave him and totally distorted it. This was my 12th tattoo and the first where I experienced pain, from the time his needle touched my skin until he was done. At one point I actually had to ask him to stop for a minute. The 2 stars here has a little bit more to do with the attitudes of those dealt with then the work. Several weeks ago I brought my sister because I had promised to pay for her to get a piece done and it took Me Too Long to get around to it. She lives an hour and a 1/2 away from me so finding a place proved challenging since she lives beyond Augusta and I live down by Portland. Research is part of what I used to do for a living so finding a place with the help of Yelp was relatively easy. My standards where the biggest challenge. We messaged the business through Facebook and decided to Avail ourselves of the walk in service. For one hour the artist billed $125, but he was able to complete 2 pieces for my sister. A cat on the top of 1 hand as well as 1 line of text on the fore arm of the same arm. My sister was thrilled with the work and I was happy to consider coming back here again. We are now planning A-day for her birthday and getting fresh ink is something we both wanna do, so i messaged them again about booking time since both of us have items to accomplish. On their website and through messenger I was told booking appointments is absolutely fine but does require an in person, in shop consultation beforehand. That is a reasonable request given the nature of the work! The problem for me is I live almost an hour and a 1/2 away. And I would have to go half an hour passed you to get my sister, drive half an hour back to you to do this consultation together with her. I would then have to drive her home and me back home I would spend essentially the entire day on the road in the interest of a 10 minute consultation. I personally found the response somewhat rude and inconsiderate because they basically told me many of the artists who work there drive a one hour commute every day to get to the shop. 1st of all those people are getting paid to make that commute. I'm paying you! If you're that intrested and getting business from as far out of town as possible to come all the way to your shop specifically, it's in your best interests to work with them about consultation via another means instead of trying to make it sound like I'm lazier than the people who work there. Especially when you have no idea the size and amount of work I want done! You have genuinely no idea how much money you're choosing to send away by telling me "We understand the difficult drive, most of our artists have an hour commute each morning." (Direct copy paste from the chat.) Lack of willingness to accomodate the person wanting to pay you is a big problem for me...especially when it comes to tattoos and body art. read more

Well, my experience was great until the owner showed up. I am visiting from out of state and went in for a small hand tattoo. My family has been coming to Maine for over 100 years, so we thought this would be a sentimental place to get it done. While my younger sister was getting her tattoo done and I was sitting away from her on the couch, He said "Good luck getting jobs" making a remark that we won't get jobs because we are getting hand tattoos. She was taken back and didn't say anything. I am a-little disappointed that something was said because.. 1. you don't know us, We both have stable careers where tattoos/piercings are not an issue 2. I can do what I want with my body and 3. How dare you judge someone who is a paying customer coming into your shop to get work done. I am not going to let a silly comment ruin my experience because everyone was lovely. The girls at the desk was very nice and helpful, our artist was great, and the piercer was great as well. tried to charge me $350 for 6 small stars...ALL linework. when i went to another shop i got them done for $120. My friend was looking to get the outline of a pine tree, about 3 inches long...$220. save your money. don't waste it on a struggling shop that overcharges $200. Also, not to mention the tattoo artist just didn't feel like doing it, and had a nasty attitude. don't stay open until 8 if you don't wanna tattoo later in the day. The piercer Kat needs to be fired. First time I went in for a septum piercing, she used the wrong clamps and pierced it in the wrong spot. Made the mistake of going back to get a jewelry change where she didn't clean my nose before, aggressively tried getting the current jewelry out and told me its my fault for having small jewelry she couldn't get out? Tells me she has to break it, come to my face with pliers and goes "ok don't freak out" SERIOUSLY? Breaks my current jewelry, doesn't even clean the new jewelry, picks it up with her fingers and starts trying to shove it in my nose and cant get it in probably because it was pierced wrong. Next day I wake up with one side of the piercing infected and I've had a new irritation bump ever since, the younger piercer seemed nice but DO NOT go to Kat if you want any kind of professionalism or just done correctly. Also she was not wearing a mask the first time i went in, overall sanitation was beyond poor, can't believe this is allowed during covid. read more

my daughter came in and got a piercing and the eyebrow piercing I noticed was real thin a week later it crusted and went through the skin. we let it heal and asked if they would either repierce it correctly or discount and the lady was rude on the phone and said once you leave we aren't responsible for them! just plain rude and I wouldn't recommend! read more

Well, initially I got a piercing here and for that I would recommend. Falon was Awesome and made the experience really comfortable. While I was there (in June) I decided well, since im here let me book an appointment for a tattoo! I have a tattoo that needed to be reworked (so it was already on my body just needed to be retouched) and they quoted me $100 so I put $50 down on that day for my appointment at the end of September. All is fine and well. Until I notice that everyday/Everyother day they're posting about how they have all this time for walk ins. So I decide to send a message about how I would love to get my tattoo sooner than September if they have all this free time, no response. Well, I found someone to redo my tattoo same day - and it is beautiful. I made a friendly phone call today, August 7th (a month and a half away from my apt date) and absolutely no refund. OK I understand, can I get a different tattoo then? no absolutely not. How about a piercing? absolutely not. I got my nose pierced at a shop down in portland. Accidentally knocked the piercing out and had no time to run down and fix it so I came here. They switched it out, charging me $10 and giving me a straight post which i did not know until I got home and it fell out as I was sleeping. Went back the next day and requested a post with some sort of bend to it, preferably a cork screw as that's what I originally had. They said they only had L posts so I got one put it. It quickly started to become infected and my skin began to grow over the post inside my nose. I just got the L post changed to a screw at the original place in Portland I was pierced and the piercer says that there was no way that the L post wasn't going to infect my nose as the piercing had no room to breathe and was too sort. 100% do not recommend this place. read more
