They will come out and look at what you want done and provide a written estimate along with a drawing on exactly what they suggest. When the crew came out the first time a few years back, we talked about one limb. They suggested just leaving on until the end so I could decide - since once can't glue it back on! This helped me a lot on what to do. They just don't go to town and cut up the tree as I have seen on ALOT of job. Just had them out again to trim up the same tree. They do offer other services besides just trimming trees, so check them out for your yard needs.
