After finding out this studio was the oldest in Sarasota, I knew I'd be in good hands. I wanted a tragus and helix piercing to add to my collection. After discussing the jewelry options (I wanted a simple, tiny rhinestone) we settled on a few and Karen (the owner) began to mark my ear with placements. What I loved about Karen is that she gave her honest and professional opinion on placement of the helix. Where I initially wanted it was not going to be the best option because of the shape and curve of my ear. Being a woman herself, she knew I wouldn't love my initial placement ad recommended a lower helix piercing. I appreciated her honesty. She even asked if my two prior piercings were done by different piercers, which I said yes, and she knew right away they were from different people (because of the placement they did, going off of what I wanted and not taking my ear shape into consideration). I went with her recommended area and I couldn't be happier with results. She runs the show here at EA - a small, woman owned business which resonates with me. Karen is highly professional and personal, engaging and makes you feel comfortable and secure. I couldn't recommend Karen enough! Just an fyi - she's cash only - not a problem but come prepared. Always ask or call to make sure she's available and she can give you an estimate over the phone in what you are wanting. Karen - I'll be back to add more ear candy when I'm in town next.

Stopped in this 'local business' twice to inquire about a very small tattoo touch up as a 'walk in'…read moreclient ~ both times was told to come back at a different suggested time ... completely understandable as they were very busy. Third time I was SPECIFICALLY told to come back 'Sunday at noon'. Showed up that Sunday at noon and the doors were locked. Called the number posted on the front door, left a voice mail AND sent a text message (as instructed on the door) and received NOTHING in response. Nothing. Not a 'sorry, not a 'we're too busy', not a 'job is too small', or just a simple 'Fuck you'. Nothing. Rude, disrespectful of MY time (which is just as important as the next guys, regardless of what one might think) and completely unprofessional. So much for trying to 'support my local businesses'. Found an amazing artist just up the road who did a FANTASTIC job (and who I paid a hundred bucks to ~ plus a tip ~ for that 5 minute job, because I respect EVERYONES time...) and who I will highly recommend going forward. In truth, the rating should be one star ~ but I'm not a complete dick.
