I was looking for a piercing studio to add to my ear candy collection and after a few phone calls I decided on Eternal Art. After finding out this studio was the oldest in Sarasota, I knew I'd be in good hands. I wanted a tragus and helix piercing to add to my collection. After discussing the jewelry options (I wanted a simple, tiny rhinestone) we settled on a few and Karen (the owner) began to mark my ear with placements. What I loved about Karen is that she gave her honest and professional opinion on placement of the helix. Where I initially wanted it was not going to be the best option because of the shape and curve of my ear. Being a woman herself, she knew I wouldn't love my initial placement ad recommended a lower helix piercing. I appreciated her honesty. She even asked if my two prior piercings were done by different piercers, which I said yes, and she knew right away they were from different people (because of the placement they did, going off of what I wanted and not taking my ear shape into consideration). I went with her recommended area and I couldn't be happier with results. She runs the show here at EA - a small, woman owned business which resonates with me. Karen is highly professional and personal, engaging and makes you feel comfortable and secure. I couldn't recommend Karen enough! Just an fyi - she's cash only - not a problem but come prepared. Always ask or call to make sure she's available and she can give you an estimate over the phone in what you are wanting. Karen - I'll be back to add more ear candy when I'm in town next. read more

The owner of this place is very rude, and seems to have serious anger issues when confronted with her bad customer service. Stay away from this place. Looks and feels like trash. I'm glad I didn't get to spend my money on this low quality place. read more

Through word of mouth, I heard of this place. Recently my wife and I lost 2 fur babies and we were looking to get their paw prints tattooed on us. We walked In and talked to Karen, told her briefly what we wanted and she knew exactly how our prints should be done. Two weeks after a consult, we have gotten our tattoos. Karen is excellent at what she does and is very light handed. Losing a loved one is always tough, what Karen has done is a good way to always remember the ones we love most. read more

Karen was absolutely so helpful and choosing my design, my colors and explained everything to me in detail. Not to mention she was a lot of fun to chat with. I received both a tattoo and a piercing and I am so happy with them. Would definitely go back. The vibe was awesome as someone who used to work for the health department. I had no question that this office was completely compliant with any health department standards and probably went up and beyond. read more

Don't go here. She pierces with surgical steel. I literally had to go to another tattoo shop to help fix the damage that she caused. My ear piercing and belly piercing that I got done here are now all red and swollen, and I hope to god they will turn out okay. You are also not supposed to clean the new open wounded piercing with dial soap and thats the only after care that she recommends, and the soap wont do anything but irritate your skin and piercing even more so yeah, don't go to her. My cartilage was so damaged that the good piercing place was worried that it was going to collapse, im just saving the next person a lot of money by telling u guys this. read more

I came to Sarasota while on vacation to visit in laws and decided to get my daith pierced while in town. Karen is so kind and helpful and very funny--I'm always a little nervous getting a new piercing, but she really helped me feel more comfortable and at ease. She's also insanely quick! Hardly even a pinch and then it was all done. I can't recommend Karen and eternal art highly enough! read more

Amazing experience! Karen took the tattoo reference pictures I sent along with a brief description of what I wanted, and created a unique design that's just perfect :) Not only is she a great tattoo artist, but one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I love my tattoo and recommend her to anyone! read more

Clean, professional, honest and realistic tattoo business. I also believe they are the oldest tattoo place in town. Karen is nothing but honest with the expectation of the end result of your tat ideas. She has done tattoos on my daughter, ear ring holes on my wife and looking forward for her to freshen up some older tattoos in the future. I had some tattoo ideas and she explained why it wasn't a good idea and it would look good. You have to appreciate the honesty and not get made. She is the professional artist and she does know best. Thank you for being in sarasota with your tattoo shop. Ps: look at other tattoo shops inspection reports. Eternal art has theirs posted with zero violations. Very clean and safe shop! read more

I went to Eternal Art for my cartilage piercing a few days ago and I am shocked at how little pain I am feeling now and that I felt while she was piercing my ear. It was quick and easy, (I wish I remembered her name, ugh) but she was very helpful in helping me find a placement on my ear that looked the best. The actual earring selection was also very good (there were 3 different options to choose from). I LOVE the final result and would go back for any future piercings. read more

Eternal Art - I got the smaller diamond earring option and I love it! - Tattoo Near Me - Sarasota, Florida

The actual piercing was terrible. I thought this would only take maybe 10 minutes but it took 45 minutes so I was a bit late to my next app. Why did I not say anything? She was about to stab me 4 times, I did not want to rattle her. I don't know her. Self-preservation. She also convinced me I needed posts rather than hoops, which I hate. I really wanted hoops and would have paid. I asked for them but was not given a good reason as to why I could not get hoops. If it was medical, cool. Just tell Me. Now I have these huge faux diamond posts. Those will be removed in 4 weeks and replaced. I am disappointed with the experience. Edit: I no have an infection and have to go to the doctor. Her comment is crap as well. She is horrible at customer service and actually caring. Find someone else. Her directions for aftercare is wrong as well. She said 4 weeks and it really takes 6 weeks. Do not go to this person. read more

My husband and I found Karen from other Yelp reviews and we stopped in to check things out. That afternoon she patiently (like with the patience of a saint) talked us through options for what we were both planning. We returned the following day for our appointment and our tattoos turned out even better than we could have imagined! Not only is she talented, she is hilarious and will have you laughing the entire time. The absolute best and we will certainly be back!! read more

I had a cartilage piercing done by Karen and she was great. I'm in my forties and only had a couple of lobe piercings in each ear - I know that's essentially nothing, but having those two was considered pretty out there when I was in my teens - so was a bit nervous about the cartilage. Karen was incredibly sweet - she took the time to answer all my questions beforehand and never made me feel like a silly middle-aged woman, which I was a little scared whomever did the piercing might do. Karen discussed the location with me, marked the spot so I could check it, was quick and professional about the piercing itself, and gave me clear instructions for aftercare Overall, a really great experience with Karen at Eternal Art. If I decide to have anything else done in the future then I would most definitely return. read more

I highly recommend Karen! I recently saw her to repierce both earlobes because the holes that were done almost 50 years ago really were never positioned correctly. I have never left a yelp review but I feel the need. I really wanted to like this place it seemed affordable, nearby, and had a 4.9 on google. I went in for three helix piercings through the top of my ear cartilage, I understand this could be a difficult piercing but upon showing Ms.Karen a photo I was told less than a minute later that I could " put that picture away because i'm a professional". Professional or not I was in shock by the statement and almost got up right then, looking back I wish I had. I completely understand it being a more alternative piercing but I had called ahead of time to confirm it was possible and came in with numerous reference photos that barely got a glance. I have gotten 17 piercings at this point so I know my body can and almost always does heal with no problems. Upon getting the piercings she managed to do okay at the first two piercings but when it was time for the third it was pierced very crooked poking inwards towards my ear completely out of line with my other two. She immediately grew silent but quickly try to play it off. I immediately knew something was wrong but was hoping it was swelling. when going home I realized she had taken a before photo but no after photo of my ear to show the piercing, meaning she could tell just how botched it was. Unfortunately it became very irritated because of the placement and it rubbing. She made a comment that I had the perfect anatomy for the piercing and it is frustrating because I know it was very possible if taken the proper care. I honestly just wish she could have owned up to it more and helped me take it out and figure out a solution. Now I have a nasty piercing bump for a crooked hole. Like a said I don't write reviews but when it's a body modification I feel like honest reviews are very important and could save someone some pain. read more

We came in today to get my 6 year olds ears pierced. She really wanted to get it done but was petrified and had chickened out before a few times. Karen was very patient and made sure not only my daughter but mom (me) and dad were happy with the earring hole markings and redid her target many times to get it just right to please us all. When it was time to do the actual piercing she did it so fast that my daughter didn't even notice she had done it until after it was done. She normally cries and screams and throws a fit when getting a shot and for this all she said was ouch. When it was time to do the second hole she started to freak a little bit and Karen calmed her down and waited until she was still and did the second one even faster. We have a very happy 6 year old with perfect earring holes. I highly recommend this place. read more

Karen is a very down to earth person who you can tell loves what she does no matter how big or small the job is. I got a small tattoo of my soon to be fiancés heart rhythm on my wrist from when she was having heart complications a few years ago and Karen fell in love with the story. My gf, Karen and I actually talked about anything and everything for longer than the tattoo took to do. She was amazing and I recommend anyone who wants to get a tattoo (or piercing even though We didn't l do one) to go see her and have her take care of you. read more

First ink. Waited a long time to get my first one. Karen the owner is awesome. She helped me select the right one and size it so it would look cool. I chose one with a lot of detail and difficult shading. She took her time and the result is amazing. While I was getting mine done she had several customers come in and I got to see first hand how she really cares about her customers and making sure they are making the right decisions. Karen did an unspeakable job. She was so friendly, warm and welcoming from the minute we walked in! Hilarious too. She made us so comfortable and excited to get our art done by her. Karen was so fun and super easy to talk to! She helped me realize my tattoo would be better in a different location and I'm so glad she did because I love the placement! Not only did she do a great job on my tattoo, but she also gave me a few places I should visit (I just moved here). You're not just a number or tattoo and it won't take you long to figure that out! Eternal Art - There's a reason she's #1 in Sarasota! You aren't just a tattoo to her & she makes that known. Karen was so friendly & easy to talk to. - Tattoo Near Me - Sarasota, Florida

Well, what is there to say. I was told by the owner that she could give me a tattoo exactly like the picture I brought in. 7 hours later I had an ugly piece on my arm that looked nothing like what I had paid $520 for. I have pictures to prove it. After several weeks I went down to A Body of Art in Gulf Gate where they looked at what she had tattooed and profusely apologized for the horrible job a supposed "tattoo artist" did. Now, I have a gorgeous tattoo that covers completely the waste of ink, my time and my money that was previously on my arm. My strong, STRONG advice, go talk to Justin or anyone else at A Body of Art in Gulf Gate if you want a great tattoo. They are 100% professional and not only that, they actually follow through with what they tell you they can do. I literally threw $520 right down the toilet going here. Every time I think about it, it makes me SICK. Again, I have the before and after pics to prove just how ugly the work done was. Avoid. read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend and they were so right. I'm very glad I got this done right because I have trouble with piercings; it was quick and she was obviously experienced and professional but I still passed out (soooo embarrassed) and she have me salts and water and skittles and made sure I was fine after. We all talked for a while and Karen is THE BOMB!! Thank you and I'll for sure be back. read more

Was here to have ears pierced. I heard so many good things about this place. And it was all true. Karen the owner didn't disappoint. She took like 15min to explain the procedure, what to expect, and the rationale of why. The place was exceptionaly clean and she was totally professional. She made me feel so comfortable I didn't even feel the needle. I know it's only a piercing, but you don't know you would get at the mall. Thank You Karen for a great experience. I also have a tattoo that needs some work and she was more than happy to hear what I want and she said she could incorporate her amazing ideas. Grateful doesn't even begin to describe my experience. Such a quick, easy , and memorable process. As someone who is young and impressionable, I wanted my first tattoo to embody something so important to me , my mother whom I lost a few years ago. I came to karen ( female tattoo artist ) with a vision and she turned it into a reality and in such a short amount of time! She took an idea of mine and creatively put it into exactly what I wanted and I can't express how grateful I am that now my mom is always on me. As for the experience , I felt right at home as karen has such a bubbly personality and I knew I was in good hands . There was no question I was getting quality work with quality cleanliness and professionalism. I would 100 percent recommend going here for those who want an honest, professional, and sentimental experience. Thank you again. I'm in awe. read more

Beautiful woman with a mouth of a sailor that does beautiful work. This was my first tattoo and she was patient with me until I was satisfied with everything! Down to the curve of the A, to repositioning it 3 times before I was satisfied. Like I said this was my first tat and I got it on the inner upper arm (yeah, ouch!) but Karen is so soft and smooth with the needle and since she's funny as hell we laughed the whole time so my mind wasn't focused on the pain. I made a comment to my best friend that I needed to listen to some "gangster rap" to get pumped up and next thing I know she had changed her own music to trap music. The tattoo is healing great, the line work is wonderful and I will definitely be going back (you know what they say after the first one... You get the itch for more.)
