After finding out this studio was the oldest in Sarasota, I knew I'd be in good hands. I wanted a tragus and helix piercing to add to my collection. After discussing the jewelry options (I wanted a simple, tiny rhinestone) we settled on a few and Karen (the owner) began to mark my ear with placements. What I loved about Karen is that she gave her honest and professional opinion on placement of the helix. Where I initially wanted it was not going to be the best option because of the shape and curve of my ear. Being a woman herself, she knew I wouldn't love my initial placement ad recommended a lower helix piercing. I appreciated her honesty. She even asked if my two prior piercings were done by different piercers, which I said yes, and she knew right away they were from different people (because of the placement they did, going off of what I wanted and not taking my ear shape into consideration). I went with her recommended area and I couldn't be happier with results. She runs the show here at EA - a small, woman owned business which resonates with me. Karen is highly professional and personal, engaging and makes you feel comfortable and secure. I couldn't recommend Karen enough! Just an fyi - she's cash only - not a problem but come prepared. Always ask or call to make sure she's available and she can give you an estimate over the phone in what you are wanting. Karen - I'll be back to add more ear candy when I'm in town next.

It bled horribly and now has what seems to be permanent bruising marks on it. Picture attached is after a month has gone by. It continues to hurt me off and on, but doesn't seem to be infected. There is a piece in the arm that the color blew out of and has a scar. So I would proceed with caution when going to this studio. Make sure you know the artist that you're going to see because by the looks of it they have some very talented artists there but just didn't happen to be the one that I got.

We were experiencing computer issues for the next two days and my emails weren't received until the morning of my tattoo. Thankfully we communicated really well and Ariana sketched my tattoo for me and adjusted it the same day. The tattoo was in memoriam of my younger brother who was killed in his early 20s very tragically. I knew that Ariana understood how much this tattoo meant to me. She took her time and it turned out better than I ever could have imagined. She's so gifted and such a talented artist. Flowers become alive when she's tattooing them, which was an important factor to me. The realism was exactly what I was looking for and she nailed it and still made it original. When I'm back in town I will return just to say hello and thank you again. Or if needed for a touchup but that's about it. She did an incredible job. I'm really pleased with her work. I would happily come back to Ariana and the shop again for additional tattoos. I loved the shop/parlor and everyone in it. Everyone is super talented on the staff. It's very clean inside, everything is opened, sterilized and fresh. All precautions and safety measure are taken by staff during this difficult time. Masks were always worn by all. Oh! We were there for several hours, so I had plenty of time to observe. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun, and not at all intimidating. Tony, the owner, is just a nice, cool guy, and was very patient with my rather particular and indecisive friend. In the end, what she asked for was exactly what he delivered, and she loved them both. Tony's smooth, clean lines and sharp attention to detail were outstanding. Speaking of clean, both Tony and his employee John practiced appropriate safe and sanitary procedures throughout, which is always reassuring to see! While we were there, I watched John help a customer design a large custom upper arm piece. I wasn't there long enough to see the finished product, but the design and the work he did while I was there were gorgeous. I don't think you could go wrong with either one of these guys. Oh, and there was also a situation with a drunken customer (which I'm pretty sure is a normal occupational hazard in the ink business), and the guys handled it with pure professionalism. Wanted one thing, but quickly decided to change gears after doing some internet research (turns out…read moregetting a tat on the palm of your hand isn't the best idea for a number of reasons.) So the new location was my left ring finger, and instead of a word, the concept morphed into a symbol. Matt Helmer sketched a red poppy for me (personal significance) and resized it twice so it would fit just right on the lower part of my finger. He creatively pigmented the background of the flower with a subtle teal outline to make it pop. It looks like I'm wearing a permanent cool ring. Got super lucky on a Friday midday. Evidently someone had cancelled last minute, so instead of a two month wait, I got my finger tat the same day it was conceived. Great experience. Fun, friendly shop and I bought a cool logo t-shirt from them as well.
