I would not have been able to do it without her! Rosy helped me every step of the way- she came right when I called her, she timed my contractions, contacted my midwives when it was time for them to come, never hesitated, was always present, calm, composed and quick to respond when I needed help. Rosy helped me drink, eat, provided aromatherapy, administered herbs, controlled my TENS machine, massaged me, help me move about...She basically was the greatest support I could have ever asked for and she did everything without me having to ask. She intuitively knew what I needed and when. I truly believe our home birth went so successfully because Rosy were there. Rosy is a clear communicator and has a wonderful and calm demeanor. When I was scared Rosy was there to comfort me. She cheered me on and told me I was doing an amazing job when I was feeling discouraged, and when my daughter was finally born, after a FULL day of labor I was so touched by Rosy's dedication & resolve and so grateful that I had her support. It took my a while to find the right doula as I wanted to find someone who connected with me and made me feel comfortable. The minute I met Rosy I knew she was the one! She's absolutely great! The type of person you want to have around when you're having painful an strong contractions as she has a very calm, soothing voice, sweet personality while at the same time being a firm advocate at the hospital for the birth experience you want to have. My husband and I are incredibly grateful and would recommend every expecting mother to partner up with Rosy. She was always on time, replied to all my emails, all my calls, provided excellent resources, checked on me frequently and was 100% with me throughout labor. It would have been a lot harder to make it without her. After many hours of labor I was able to give birth vaginally to my beautiful baby girl, Paloma. She's also an excellent prenatal yoga teacher so she can recommend exercises to prepare your body for birth and stay healthy throughout your pregnancy, or take her classes, which I did :) She had great connections in the community and referred me to a great chiropractor and acupuncturist who both helped me a lot at the end of my pregnancy. This was our first child and I was hoping to have as natural a birth as possible in a hospital. Foremost we wanted someone to help lead us through the process - to be helpful to me and also to my husband. She answered all our questions and went over all the procedures to answer the questions we didn't even know we had. As I passed my due date, she worked with me to find ways to naturally induce labor in several different modalities. Throughout my labor, my husband used her as a resource to help comfort me and she was exceptionally attentive to all my needs. She always worked within the boundaries of what we were comfortable with and was never judgmental about our birth plan. In the end, I had to be induced and our plan changed drastically. She didn't skip a beat and helped us stay as close as possible to the intention of our plan. Once the baby was born, she stayed to help me start breastfeeding and to get us situated in the new room. I am ever so grateful to her for everything that she did and would recommend her to anyone looking for a Doula. I also took part in Elizabeth's Yoga for Birthing class and found it very helpful. It was a great substitute for a LaMaze class because we went over all the different parts of labor and the choices that we were going to have to make. She also gave us poses and breathing to do in each of the different stages of labor and I made a lot of use of these throughout my labor. I highly recommend the class as well.

The second time, after we were more aware about how draining infancy can be for parents and more aware of postpartum depression and anxiety and its correlation with sleep deprivation, we arranged for postpartum care upon discharge from the hospital. We absolutely loved our doula, Jess. In our opinion, doula care by far exceeds baby nurse care as the doula philosophy takes the entire family system into consideration. I found my cancelled check and she also found her bank statement. To make a very long story short, she also never reached out to me regarding prepping for class or what we needed to bring for supplies until 15 HOURS prior to class . I then decided to back out of such a disorganized class and teacher because this is MY future and my money. For 3 weeks now I have not heard anything but lame apologies and statements via letter in my email saying she will NOT be refunding my money. I will be reporting her to the BBB among other places in the Hudson Valley. Small claims court is soon if she doesn't respond to any of my requests. This is very unfortunate in such a peaceful and beautiful business as childbirth.

She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to babies and parenting. We crammed in so much helpful information in just two days! She provided handouts and was open to all questions and topic discussions. Hilary is absolutely incredible. To be quite honest, she was my first experience with a doula. I always had a misconception that doulas were against any sort of medication during the birthing process and always naively pictured home births in a bath tub ;) I was so wrong! Hilary is supportive of all kinds of birth plans. The great thing about her is she has experience in all of them and never passes judgement.
