Seeing as how twin Detroit 6V92 Diesels are used on-board I figured that a trucking parts company and authorized distributor of Detroit Diesel would likely have the parts and I appreciated that they were open until 11:30 pm. Glen and Jack were great. Glen found the parts we needed and conferred with his tech Jack as to which parts cross-referenced with others, since the parts numbers we had we long retired by Detroit Diesel and new, updated numbers needed to be found. Prestige Wholesale agreed to repair it, ONLY. if their mechanic did the work. Long story short they botched the repair, didn't bolt down the manifold, left the vacuum hose disconnected, and a rag left next to the engine. All the coolant went into the engine, ruining the engine. They breached their agreement, didn't keep their promise and tried to tell me they went above and beyond . They got paid the $20k for the truck and I got a truck unsafe to drive. Not much integrity when you don't follow through with your promise. I've never purchased a vehicle from such an unprofessional company who doesn't want to take responsibility for their own screw up. That's not how family treats one another!

The guy was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. He told me he'd send me an estimate and that was the last I heard from him. I was out of work for a few days and upon returning I immediately called Pape to find out the status of the estimate because I had not received it yet. The woman who took my call got on my case for not returning her call sooner. She continuously said over and over she has left several messages and would not let the conversation go any further than this because she apparently wanted it known she called. (after I got off the phone I checked the one message she left) She told me she'd have the estimate over in a few days. Which at that point was a week past the time the technician came out so it should have been complete. She just didn't have my email address which was the hold up. So a week later I called again and again I was told a few days later I would have an estimate. I called around to every forklift repair shop in Sacramento and found someone to come out and make the repairs. The total came to $380. Then I finally get an estimate from Pape. The same work that was done for $380 they are estimating will cost me $2,338!!! Apparently we hired Pape years ago to repair our forklifts so they came highly recommended this time around but after this experience I will never even consider calling them for anything whatsoever. I do not recommend them to anyone unless you just have thousands of dollars you care to throw away. I suggest saving yourself from the rude customer service and gouging prices and look up a small business locally who will give you great service because they actually want your business.

I would recommend that if you go that route, you should try to make an appointment at any of the local shops ahead of time as they seem to be pretty busy even on a weekday. Once I arrived, the guys were friendly, easy going and gave me time (alone) to inspect the car and to ask questions once I was ready. Long story short, I bought my GTI and I appreciated the no hassle process. Since I live in SF, they even worked with me to have the car delivered on the weekend (great customer service, right?)
