It should be called burner law group cause they will burn up your money before you even go to court .. a very scandalous and coldhearted. I don't see how they could live with themselves and you'll get a surprise Bill and not letting you know your retainer was eaten up within the first month and not filed nothing in the courts yet awful business..Should be ashamed of yourself legal thievery at its finest ! So they absolutely took advantage of my situation to the fullest if i knew what i did now i would not of paid them a dime more money

They were firm, direct, clear and no bullshit plus they were on top of their communication with me. They fought for me and for my family and shut down my wasband's lies at every turn. In the end I was divorced in just under a year with the parenting plan I wanted in place. I worked with Ms. Skeen quite a bit as well to prepare for hearings and she was understanding, helpful, kind and also took no crap from my wasband- she worked hard to get me what I needed. If you want no sugar coating and to know ahead of time what you will most likely get- go to Jack Berner, et. al. Thank you Berner Law Group- I will be back if there are ever future issues for sure.

I'm not trying to get something out of you guys, we work with a few lawyers for our businesses and personal life's, and not all lawyers are same that's easy to understand what's hard to understand is that you talk about transparency when I got told by your office that my case was going to be resolved to satisfy my needs and I got a round estimate of what the future cost was going to be and I agreed to it. Because it seemed fair at the time, but after I had to do the paperwork myself and for you only to give me 3 sheets of paper and 5 min of your time in a zoom court call, I can't seem to connect the billing together with the time spent on my case again I fired you guys before my contempt case got viewed. If you would like me to post the billing statement here on Yelp please do let me know.

They were the most attentive, by far and away the best value, and also without a doubt, they were the most effective. A special thank you to Kelli, Linnea and all of the Brew Layman office for their exceptional work. If I had it to do all over again, I would have called Brewe Layman with my first call over 5 years ago. Thank you for your help in settling this matter and allowing me to move on with my life. Robert Miller gave me honest feedback and realistic expectations, making the decision to retain him easy. Throughout my case, everything was handled promptly, thoroughly, and professionally. I was blown away with how well Mr. Miller presented in court at each hearing. He is direct, fact-based, and articulate with an incredible knack for saying the things that need to be said without being derogatory. I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Miller. I realize good facts do more for one's case than the attorney, but I firmly believe I would not come away with what I did had I not been represented by him. He handles everything with a precision that leaves the opposing counsel fumbling and stumbling. - JD P.S. I saw several reviews that pointed out how "little" he does versus how "much" is done by his paralegal. News flash: that's how it works and it's not a bad thing. I would be remiss if I did not mention the fact that his paralegal is an absolute rock star and just as much a part of my success as Mr. Miller.

Julie Caputo handled a family member's case for about 6 months. The case is still ongoing so I…read morecan't discuss specifics. Julie is best suited for cases that are likely to settle in mediation or arbitration. You can tell by looking at her web site which clearly states they prefer Collaboration, Mediation, and Arbitration and I quote: ..."We reserve the use of litigation - the use of the courts to make decisions for the family - as a last resort for our clients..." I suggest you heed this, it's a warning. Julie sucks in court. She was not prepared, was not organized, and during one short hearing when Julie spoke, my family member counted 33 "umms and ahhhs" as he shrunk in his chair. Bad place to realize you are not represented by an experienced litigator that lights up when it's their turn to speak, becomes a presence, a force to be reckoned with. Julie is none of that. Julie will steer you to get along, don't rattle the cage, to give in, and she does not like the courtroom. We warned Julie we had a very high conflict case that was unlikely to settle. When opposing party pulled stunts, Julie's frustration was always directed at her client, my family member. She gets mad and literally yells at and belittles clients to their face--clients that are already traumatized by the high conflict nature of the relationship they are extricating themself from. It all came crashing down during a phone call between my family member and Julie. After yelling at him and slamming down the phone, she missed the handset cradle--she continued yelling in her office (to her son Nicholas who works for her), thinking she had hung up. "I HATE THIS CASE - XX must be stupid, doesn't care about money" --on and on (can't go into case specifics)-- for 4-5 minutes as family member listened to what Julie and Nicholas *really* thought about him and the case, until she figured out the phone had not hung up. Whoops. I gave one star because Julie does have redeeming qualities. She's just not good in court, nor is she able to handle truly high conflict cases with empathy and grace. To Julie's credit, she writes good letters, but forgets to use spellcheck, or hover over underlines--lots of typos. She also introduced us to 191 restrictions in parenting plans which prior counsel did not know about or mention. She is probably very good at collaboration, mediation and arbitration but we don't know, our case was never headed that way. We have new counsel, a brilliant experienced litigator that comes to court 100% prepared, large and in charge. He is totally unfazed by the high conflict antics of opposing party, to the contrary, he exhibits empathy, and watches for his place to jump in to make it stop. On the last round of motion flurry, while we are still processing what just happened, he is half way to the next goalpost. Incredible. If you need an effective courtroom litigator, keep looking, they are out there. You can check my other reviews.

We involved Linda in a contentious divorce case after the other party failed to show up for mediation. We knew at that point there was a need for a litigator and not just a mediation attorney. She came to us highly recommended by a man that used her as his attorney in another contentious divorce. Linda was the calming force that kept things together throughout the long-drawn-out case. The other party spent years going to court over anything she could claim, true or not. Linda helped navigate these turbulent waters with us. She was always prepared and took the case to victory! How many men actually get primary custody of their children in a state like WA? I think we all know that answer, not many! Linda was able to prove our case by being professional, on point at all times and knew when to ask questions and when not to. Linda is a busy attorney that is for sure but, that is because she is great at what she does. Anyone needing a divorce attorney I would highly recommend Linda be hired, if you're interested in results. Linda gets results!!!!!!

The very first consultation, she ran 15 minutes over on the client prior to me and so the 30 minutes in was supposed to get was only 15 minutes and she actually told the lady to bill be for 30 minutes. I should have known at that time that she was just running the clock to take advantage of me. I was told to pay 7k in order for her to do mediation that I have been asking for for about 6 months. 6 months ago, the funds would have been there. She shows up to court unprepared, with incorrect paper work, she doesnt have everything she needs and is constantly pushing for extension and her calander is so busy. Like why even take on a new client? I advised them that I cannot pay anymore and to send me any paperwork that was being worked on. And i got nothing. I don't even get the work that I paid for. Unless there isnt any work to send me. Either way. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE.
