I recently stayed at this Tru by Hilton, and it was a fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and modern. One of the standout features was the coffee bar, which offered a great selection of delicious brews that really kick-started my mornings. The snack bar was great and was stocked with a variety of frozen dinners and snacks that were perfect for a quick bite. It's great to have convenient options available, especially when you're on the go. Breakfast served daily was another highlight; the variety ensured there was something for everyone. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. My room was clean and comfortable with plenty of plug outlets and even USB plugs. There is an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, body and hand soap, shampoo and conditioner (works great ladies) and body lotion. They all smell amazing! Overall, Tru by Hilton exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the area!

I was traveling on business and had a last-minute visit to Houston and needed a place to rest for the night before my flight in the AM. While the bed was very comfortable and room sufficient, I was not fond of the clock being an hour off. I settled in late and didn't even realize it when I programmed my alarm. I would like to think this could be something they can check during turnovers. I luckily made it to the airport in time, but this could have been a start to a long day if I missed my flight. Overall, the staff were great, friendly (even at 2AM when I needed Tylenol). For something reasonably priced and comfortable I would stay again.... but definitely now checking clocks on my own in the future. While I didn't use the outdoor area it was cute.

The breakfast attendant was super nice. The rooms were a bit run-down and dirty. Overall, not bad for a 2-3 star category stay.

I went to management . They promised me they would comp me days.. I checked in at 2 am and crashed.. went to work and I was horrified !!!! I remove all of the beds to make sure I get all of my chargers.. when I moved the pillow , I saw a huge blood stain below it !!!How grosss !!!! I emailed Hilton , management all of it. They wouldn't contact me back or comp me my days they promised me...they be nasty . Follow up. No call . Nothing. Piss poor management !!

Having stayed at a Tru hotel twice now, I can say it is personally my least favorite Hilton property. While I appreciate contemporary style in general, I find having no carpet in the guest rooms uncomfortable. The floor feels unclean and makes me want to keep my shoes on at all times. Not very relaxing after driving several hours from out of town. I suppose if you just need a place to rest your head overnight, it wouldn't be a big deal. I chose this hotel for the convenient location off 45. It is close to lots of restaurants and stores. There's even a Costco within walking distance. Checking in was fine although I prefer to not have to stop by the front desk to do so. My digital key was not activated as requested when booking. They needed me to update my credit card on file which I know I already did beforehand. The clerk was not very welcoming and her professionalism lacking. Their market items are displayed at the front desk giving convenient store vibes. The lobby was big and had lots of areas to hang out. Oh, if don't like noise, choose a room facing the front of the hotel. My room was located above the pool in the back and there were people laughing and shouting at 11:00 pm. This would be a last resort option for me if I find myself back in this area.

We stayed at the Tru by Hilton. It was a nice hotel. Upon entry the lobby is really cool. It has plenty of places to sit and hang out and it has a large snack area. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. We got a room on the first floor which was convenient. The room was clean, and bright. It had two queen beds, a large Television, a really long counter/ desk top that held the TV and had space to put a chair under it. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were soft. I slept really well. The bathroom had a sink, large mirror, and counter. The towels were stored on a shelf underneath the sink. The bathroom had a shower which I prefer. My only complaint about the shower is that there was no place to put my bar soap or razor for shaving. I use bar soap that I bring from home when I travel. Overall it was a good overnight experience.

Upon check in, my parents were coming into the room before me! They were awesome about making sure my parents were able to check in smoothly and that the payments were be charged to me. We stayed here for three days and two nights. I love the location of this hotel! It's so convenient for all the shopping areas and the space center! The rooms were nice. I wish the water pressure was better in the showers, but love the large amounts of shampoo and conditioner they give you. The breakfast was cool! I have never seen pancakes made this way before. They were really flavorful and loved the taste! I remember seeing it ends at 9am. Overall, we had no issues and was pleased with the amount of parking they had too! I would definitely come back and stay here again in the future.

    Dried sh*t on the sheets!

Horrible experience! There was literal dried sh*t in our bedding, which we didn't see until after we showered. So they wouldn't give us a refund even though we left immediately.

We were going on a cruise and wanted a hotel outside of Houston. This is a newer hotel with clean rooms, soft sheets, and friendly staff. We checked in online but since we were arriving late I called ahead and asked could they put a crib in our room. It was there when we arrived which was perfect! The hotel sits next to a mall and there's just about everything you can think of within 5-10 minutes of it. The parking lot is very well lit which I appreciated. Another thing I appreciated were there were plenty of towels in the bathroom when we arrived. There's also a mini fridge in the rooms which was perfect for my sons milk & snacks. Breakfast was just ok but enough for my kids. They had this very cool pancake making machine, eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again for future cruises.

It's been a crazy past year Covid 2021 Yelp Year.It hasn't been the same Yelping about our experiences .I want to wish all Yelpers a Happy New Year 2022.Ok I'm writing my second review for 2022 at the Hilton by Tru.Positves are is staff is amazing great breakfast,2 Foosball tables I love the lobby and location. Now the negative once you arrive to your initial room I was disappointed .Hilton gives wow rooms disappointed felt like I was back in college.Only one microwave in Hotel not a good thing with many guests .I feel this Hilton could adjust minor flaws and would b back at the top.

Very comfortable bed, the sheets are so soft

It was unfortunate that I couldn't take advantage of the amenities- Fitness center was available but limited to 5 people, didn't see anyone in there and pool was available with a 20ppl max capacity but the area was so tiny, had a tough time imagining that many there with distancing. The room was efficient but the sheets were amazing. My favorite bed so far. If you need ice, you have to the first floor. Had issues with the digital key.

Very nice hotel located in a great area next to Costco and nearby shopping stores. The rooms and bathrooms are great and spacious. Prefer the wooden floors vs carpet so didn't mind it, just have to be careful when walking as you can hear every step. Staff was kind and cleanliness was good in rooms, could be better in lobby (see microwave pic) and pool. Took a star away because the breakfast definitely needs improvement. Food was not fresh (old apples) and found mold in one of the bagels. The juices tasted horrible and the pancake maker was not working properly. The attendants were friendly, however, very laid back. When asked if they would refill egg tray for example, there was no sense of urgency and would take their sweet time. One last thing, expect also for food to run out as staff is welcome to enjoy breakfast as well. Waking up early between 6-7 is your best option in order to get some breakfast.

It was my first time staying at Tru and although our basic needs were met, I wasn't fond of the dorm vibes and not having an in room microwave. There is a microwave in the lobby for use but who wants to go to the lobby to warm up a late night snack from an earlier meal? The breakfast served was the scarcest I've seen ... there was yogurt, hard boiled eggs, plain bagel, scrambled eggs, apples, bottled water and juice but comes in clutch if hungry! While there, I noticed that I'd forgotten a toothbrush and requested a complimentary one and was advised no complimentary and that the toothbrush alone was $5! The lemon sugar soap and body wash offered smelled fantastic and I'd love the ability to purchase . Overall , the hotel was beautiful and the staff was friendly . This location offered lots of shopping and dining within walking distance and is about 30 minutes to Kemah and 30 minutes to downtown Houston depending upon traffic. If staying in the Houston area, I'd highly recommend this location but don't forget your toothbrush.

    Very chic lobby

Then there's the social nights mon-wed that is advertised till 7 but if you don't show up right at 5:30 and you decide to get there at 6-6:30 then you are left with scraps. I wouldn't advertise till 7 and just say starting at 5:30 till it's gone. That way people won't get upset great staff poorly and get snippy with those that were brought up in the wild. I'm not making this up 2 nights I witnessed people be rude to staff for not making enough and someone take multiple plates for later and one for now and guests getting smart with each other. I will say staff was great and always happy. At least the few I dealt with. Now the best part is they have designated dog areas to walk but don't offer bags so either the guests are slobs and leave the pets waste or it's because the bags aren't available either way they should have someone picking things up if guests aren't. This leads me to the lack of yard maintenance the grass was never cut leading to the search for the yard bombs. This Fairfield Inn & Suites was so similar to the Arkansas one! Love the clean, new, crisp modern look. We picked it because of the proximity to EVERYTHING. Seriously, it is so close to everything we wanted to do. I might start this review with my main negative since it was at check-in. (Get it out of the way and move on to the wonderfulness of this hotel.)My husband booked a 3-night stay for one of our kids and I to have a little staycation here, something we have never done before. Upon arriving, the lady at the desk was very... curt... with me when I said check-in under my husband's name. She asked where he was (because he apparently never added me to the reservation, something he never thought to do since we have NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE.) Anyways, without even saying another word to me, she was shaking her head and got on the phone. I didn't even know she was CALLING HIM until she (curtly again) said, "You're not going to be able to check-in unless your husband answers the phone." So I texted him to pick up. Luckily, she was able to verify with him that I wasn't a psychopath checking in under his name. Needless to say, checking in was not pleasant and didn't sit well with me. I felt treated like a child. Sigh, ok, I vented that frustration.... Now onto more positive vibes. Like I said, the hotel is gorgeous. Our room was on the first floor not far from the lobby. When we stepped into our 3-day sanctuary, we were shocked with how HIGH the ceilings were! I would guess they were around 12ft tall! The 2 queen beds were super comfy and we slept awesome! (WARNING: The corners of the bed platform stick out a good 3 inches at the foot of the bed. This was hidden by the poofy comforter and while walking by, I hit my shin on it and went down like I was shot. MAN!!! It %#$&-ing HURT!!! Anyways, the bathroom was clean and the shower was amazing. They have built-in shampoo, conditioner and body wash which is so much nicer than the mini bottles hotels used to give out. I have to say, I don't recall hearing any other guests while in our room. Super quiet hotel. We usually bring our roku to hotels so we can watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. but luckily we didn't even need it here! The TV had Netflix on it!!! All I needed to do was scan a QR code and I was logged into our Netflix account in mere seconds! One of the reasons I like this hotel brand is for the included breakfasts. Now, I DO oh-so-much miss my beloved cinnamon rolls from Holiday Inn Express but the breakfast here is pretty good as well. They had make-your-own Belgian waffles, (2 mornings they had) scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits (one day with gravy too), our last day they had Sausage, egg and cheese croissants breakfast sandwiches (WHICH WERE SO AMAZING) along with little spinach quiches. These hot items were in addition to the usual: oatmeal, toppings bar for oatmeal including: granola, pecans, chocolate chips, Craisins, coconut flakes, etc. various cold cereals, variety of yogurt, bread for toast, English muffins, one day they had bagels, blueberry muffins and some fresh fruit (bananas, mandarins, apples). The coffee was (sigh) not good. Their normal coffee was a BOLD variety and in my humble opinion, it tasted burnt... like they brewed an ashtray. I switched to the decaf, which was a blond roast and tasted MUCH better (tho, minus the caffeine). At check-in I was told breakfast was 6-9am but it was literally still out every day well past 9. This hotel has a decent fitness room (which I didn't utilize this trip) with several cardio machines (each with individual TV screens!) and a cable weight system. (I don't recall seeing free weights but maybe they weren't visible from the door). The indoor pool was utilized by my child every. single. day... even 2x in a day, one of our days. Like another reviewer said, THE POOL IS COLD. Despite bringing my suit, I didn't go in... I don't like cold pools. My kid would jump in and be freezing for a bit and get used to it. Similarly, the pool in the Little Rock Fairfield was ice cold too. I guess I don't understand why Fairfield's indoor pools are so dang cold. It's not enjoyable. Even in the dead of summer I don't want to jump into an ice bath of a pool. No one else was ever with us in the pool so it was all to ourselves. Aside from the check-in issue, the staff overall were friendly. We even interacted with the check-in lady several additional times and she was fine. No rudeness anymore. All in all, despite the unwelcoming check-in, cold pool and ashtray coffee, we LOVED our stay. My husband wants us to do a family staycation here so he can experience it too!
