Incredible failure. Beds are worn out. The ac is ancient, ac never went off, and never cooled the room properly. I had to take the lid off the toilet to jiggle the valve. The hallways were hot and they had large fans there the whole week, not running. One of our party never got his electronic key mechanism to work. At one point the power cycled off and on and a lady riding the elevator exited wide eyed - like - what just happened. Early one morning there was water spraying out of a valve on the building right onto a Porsche SUV. Disappointing stay all around. read more

Cons: - Hotel needs to be pressure washed outside. - Road noise from the interstate and sirens. - Lackluster breakfast. - Elevator creeks, pops, and shakes. Doesn't feel safe. - Pool is too small and lounging area seems cramped. Pool also does not have lightning at night. Overall, not a bad place to stay. The biggest disappointment here would be the breakfast. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, my children live for hotel breakfasts. This hotel has a very limited breakfast and NO WAFFLE IRON. I have never been to a hotel that does not have a waffle iron. That's like going to Disneyland with no Mickey Mouse. A car with no gas. A baseball with no bat. A hammer with no nail. Ok, I think I made my point. This easily was a four star visit, but the lack of the waffle iron deducts a star. I would stay here again with no problem. I stayed here for three nights when the AC unit in my apartment complex went out. I found this place by using the Marriott app, and it was the nearest location to me that was within my budget. It was under $100 a night, $103 including taxes and fees. Check-in was quick and painless. I had a queen double room on the second floor. Pros: The barn doors on the bathroom were a cute upgrade. I enjoyed the glass shower, and LOVED that the toilet was behind a separate door completely, with its own sink. The shower had great water pressure and got super hot, which is my preference. The A/C worked VERY well, and was already on when I got to me room. The bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. No weird stains or hairs on the pillows. The sound insulation was great; I didn't hear a peep from my neighbors the entire stay. The pool area was clean and there were designated towels for the pool provided. The breakfast was pretty good as well. Everything was grab and go, so it was the usual continental fare, but there were also individually wrapped, hot breakfast sandwiches, and oatmeal. The sandwiches were my favorite because they had real eggs on them. Also, you need a guest key to use the stairs, and the parking lot is well lit at night, which gave me an added sense of security. Cons: The door handle to the shower room was broken. (See picture). We had to leave the door cracked or the person inside would be trapped unless someone in the room let them out. There were curly hairs in two of the three large, bath towels. (I was able to get replacements quickly by going to the front desk.) The legs on the luggage rack were broken and it looked like it would collapse under my suitcase. The refrigerator would not stay cold. It was on two hour cycle and then it would go off again. The ice machine on the second floor was out of service. The laundry machines are coin-operated but they couldn't make change at the front desk. The housekeepers never came in due to covid so you either run out of stuff or go down to the front desk to get more. The pros outweighed the cons, and I would stay here again if I had to.(3.5 stars but I rounded up because covid has changed many things.) read more

The front desk staff was pleasant. The quality and cleanliness of our room was HORRIBLE. There was dark hair on the toilet and on the bathroom floor. Our glasses were dirty. The bathroom baseboards were disgusting and appeared to have NEVER been cleaned. The bathroom grab bar has rust that has dripped and stained the tile. The sofa had white stains on it. There were white smears on the wall above the TV and above the headboard. The bed was NASTY and EXTREMELY uncomfortable. The sheets were so thin you could clearly see the mattress and pad (that was too small) on the bed. The mattress was old and has seen better days (the mattress had been flipped). We didn't request a room change because we checked in, dropped our stuff off and returned late. My husband is extremely sick with cancer and aand was exhausted and didn't want the hassle. We both woke-up every morning with a backache. On Christmas morning I went down to get something to eat and the English muffins were hard as a rock. A guest next to me also commented on the stale of the breads and said toasting doesn't even help. I told the staff member standing nearby about the condition of the bread and tossed mine in the trash. My mother stayed in a room across from us and said a lamp wouldn't turn off because the switch was broken and that she had a coffee pot, but no basket with coffee fixings. There are stains on the carpet outside of the 4th floor elevator. We stayed at your hotel the same time last year and had a nice experience. This experience was a STARK contrast to our previous experience. The room rate was a lot less, this may be an indication that there is new management and with lower standards. My brother paid for my mom's room because of her limited income, what a waste of money for both of us--so between the 2 rooms we spent nearly $500.00!! We will not be returning to this location. It's Christmas Eve and our flight was canceled yesterday due to weather. We call Spring Hill suites to confirm our reservation and spoke to Lisa Flores who was extremely rude. She did not care about our situation whatsoever. Although we are Marriot Bonvoy members we will not be staying at Spring Hill Suites NASA area. This place is great! I stayed in a King room. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was very quiet. Everything in the hotel seems brand new. Even the elevator was smarter than me. The bathroom is divided into two rooms; One for the toilet, one for the shower, so you don't get confused which is which. It has a very nice work station that is convenient to use and doesn't face the wall, making you feel like you're in trouble for talking in class. Within walking distance, even for a fat guy, there's restaurants and a movie theater. The front desk guy suggested I go to Twin Peaks for dinner. I didn't, because is weird to eat food in front of scantily clad women. That doesn't help my self esteem. Great hotel to stay at! Could not have been a better stay. read more

It's a decent hotel, however, the fatal flaw is not having hot water when you want it. Each time I wanted to take a shower I had to call the front desk and they would have to "reset the boiler". Me the wife and kid decided on a spur of the moment trip to Galveston, after calling a few hotels in Galveston (all booked) I decided on this hotel wi h is only a 25 minute easy drive to Galveston. Just jump right on the freeway and it's about 25-30 miles away. It's located near a lot of big chain restaurants. A lot of people on here have complained about hearing the traffic on the freeway but we are on the 6th floor and can't hear anything. I decided on 4 stars because due to the covid-19 they are not cleaning rooms daily. Only when you check out they will clean it for the next guests. They will deliver towels and pickup trash but thats it. It's a clean hotel. Built 10 years ago and remodeled 2 years ago. I haven't seen any bugs at all and the elevators do work contrary to other posts. We will stay here again anytime we come to galveston. I'm very picky when it comes to hotels. If your like me and worried about bugs or dirty rooms I'm here to tell you this hotel is clean!!! It's in a nice part of town. Also quick heads up. I stayed 2 nights. The email confirmation said the total would be 301.00 however my credit card was charged 351.00 and was told it's a deposit to make sure we don't steal/break anything and the money would be refunded after checkout and room inspection. read more

This hotel really surprised me. Normally big hotels nickle and dime you to death, but this place was super clean, the building was new, and their IT and Audio/Video people know what they're doing. What do I mean? They have free wi-fi...very good; but they also have 32 inch HDTV's in the room that get this: SHOW HDTV!! I don't know how they did it - I'm guessing it's their internal video distribution system, but you get HD cable channels like ESPN-HD, and the local channels in HD without even using a confusing cable box. It just uses the TV's built in HD tuner in an order that makes sense. That alone makes me give them 4 stars. Really, I wish the local cable company would do that. Please, marriot, go in the cable business! Let's see...The area it self is kind of in a developing area so there are new chain restaurants around, but it's next to I-45 so it's not an urban hotel, but i'm guessing most people come here to be near Kemah or Galveston or other coastal attractions anyway. It's an A-OK place and I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to stay near NASA. It's about a ten minute drive from there. Rooms are large, and smartly thought out with a toilet that is in a separate room from the shower. This was nice because if you have multiple people in the room you don't all have to fight for the single bathroom. The TV was nice, but oddly placed on one side of the room. This made it more difficult for my brother to see it from his bed. They do have an HDMI port though, so bring something to plug in if you would like. I always bring a small raspberry pi with every single NES and SNES game on it to play during vacation downtime. Breakfast was okay. It gets crowded the closer to the 9:30 cut off you get, and some items will be gone if you wait too long. Going between 7:30-8:30 seemed to work best. The food isn't anything special. I thought the turkey sausage patties were pretty bad. The eggs were fine with some cheese and hot sauce on them. By the end of my trip I found myself just sticking to the granola and orange juice. The only real complaint I have is that some rooms are starting to look a little warn down. Each room has a sofa couch in it, along with the two queen beds, and the cushions looked a little rough. I noticed a few various chips and dings in the room as well, but nothing that seemed like a big deal. Service was good. My room was cleaned each day and looked great. The best compliment I can give to hotel service is not noticing them at all, which means they've done an excellent job. It was also nice to have things around to do. You can wander through the Fry's Electronics, go hit some balls at Top Golf, or enjoy quite a few good restaurants around here. All are within 5 minutes, and most can even be walked to. I skipped out on the pool, but saw others in there as well. It's a good hotel in a good location. read more

It's right behind the "Main Event" entertainment building so if you're needing to go shoot some pool, go bowling, play some laser tag, or even eat at some of the many restaurants around the area, then I would definitely suggest this hotel. Not to mention, this hotel is super clean and spacious. Breakfast options are above average. All of the Springhill suites that I've ever stayed at were above average when it comes to breakfast options and room types. I am also a Platinum Member as well so I've stayed at plenty of Springhill Suites and I still love them. This one is definitely one of my top picks because of the location. We were on a mini vacation for my aunts birthday. She has been wanting to visit Nasa and Houston. Although she moved to Texas almost 11 years ago she has never left San Antonio. So we decided to take her on a mini trip to her liking. My cousins and I got a few rooms for the our group. I have to say this location is very nice. We enjoyed staying at this Spring Hill very much. The bar downstairs was great. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast is included with your stay and they had great choices for breakfast. The rooms were very roomy. Well at least the one I stayed in. There is a gym and a pool located on the first floor which we didn't have time to take advantage of. I would come stay at this location again. Next time while staying with family make sure you bring your Unicorn gold for the bathroom. hahahahaha read more

Spent two days here visiting Houston and Galveston for the weekend. Staff was really nice at first but the last night we called for extra blankets and front desk picked up and seemed pretty rude about asking for blanket. Front desk explained that they were extremely busy but it did catch us a little off guard. Room was clean and comfortable. Love that they have snacks and drinks in the lobby to buy. I'm a Marriot Platinum Premier member and this was my first stay here. Typical amenities for this level of hotel - "eggs" on the breakfast bar and continental overall, small gym, small pool and a small bar in the lobby. Parking seemed ample and well lit, plenty of restaurants nearby and striking distance to a bunch of places (Kemah, NASA, even Galveston). Obviously a newer hotel, common areas were clean and the staff was friendly. I saw an outdoor courtyard which looked busy the night we stayed but we didn't use it. We like the toilet being separate from the shower/vanity area and the appointments are more modern with barn slider doors in the room vs traditional. Not that I want to pay more for that, but is different. We went during spring break and rate was $125 AAA and with 160+ stays a year across US in Marriot's this was a great value. read more

We were visiting NASA in Houston with family. Needed a place to crash for the night. This place popped up on my bonvoy Marriott app that was closest to NASA. Made quick reservation on my app and checked into the hotel the next night. For a mid class hotel and for the location next to NASA it served our purpose. If I could give half a star I would. My family was in town from California for my mother's funeral, I booked the hotel two day prior to my arrival on Booking.com. My stay was for 6 nights $594.00 plus 15% tax came to $683.10. Not a problem. Our room was fine, clean, no issues with our stay. Upon receiving my checkout receipt it showed we were charged $821.10. I called the Hotel around 2pm on Friday 10:02:21 directly & explained the situation & was greeted by a woman who first of all did not identify herself, then as I proceeded with my issue, she was far from helpful. She spoke to me like I was ignorant by saying the online price doesn't include the taxes(yes it did) then says well you were a walk-in, no booked 2 days prior. Since I was getting nowhere with this individual I asked to speak to the manager. This woman didn't say "one moment let me put you on hold" she was just gone. My phone showed that she had not hung up so I waited patiently hoping that she would return to the call. After several minutes she comes back on the line & tells me that she is sending me to the managers voicemail. I left a message & have not received a return call. What is the point of booking online when they will not honor the price on your confirmation email, What could have been a great review has now become this, all because hotel staff had extremely poor customer service skills & didn't want to help me. Every staff member we encountered during our stay was extremely helpful and friendly. This night started the beginning of our week long vacation. (There were 3 couples ranging in age 21-46). As soon as we got our bags up to our room, we headed down to the bar where we had fun talking to the bartender. She created a drink for my son that we all tasted and liked. She was great at creating a drink to each of our taste. When we decided a late night craving for pizza was in order, she got the number and told me best way to order so I could get a discount. My daughter-in-law lost her phone (we think she threw it away with her breakfast plate) and everyone was really nice about helping look for it. It looks fairly new, and, if your favorite color is green, then you're in luck: it seems like everything is green. Pros: - 5 minutes from Nasa/Space Center - 15 minutes from Kemah - walking distance from a Main Event (bowling, billiards, arcade, laser tag), a Cinemark movie theater, a sushi place, and a McAlisters - free wi-fi (using it right now!) - free continental breakfast from 7am-10am (will have to leave earlier than that so I don't know how the food is) - the room looks new and has a microwave and a mini-fridge Cons: - the walls are kind of thin. I can hear people talking (and they sound different from the usual ones in my head...ha ha). The staff was friendly, and the rates aren't as high as the places in Kemah. read more

It's right next to a gas station where you can get drinks for less than the price of the lobby prices. Employees are super honest and real with you. Family of four stayed for one night prior to a cruise from Galveston. Front desk were extremely heloful with local directions. Pool was small but was very clesn. It's an Awesome nice hotel, except for one Small Problem. The Freaking Elevator Doesn't Work At All. My family and I stayed from 6/21/19 to 6/23/19 and we were forced to carry our own suitcases up and down the stair case since the the only elevator they have didn't work. As it is, I am considered by the State of Texas to be physically disable, and those people at the hotel didn't offered me any help with my luggage. When we ask about for a room on the first floor, they said they didn't have any left. I could understand if this place was locally owned, but Marriott owns it. No discount was offered to us to mend for this problem that was their own fault. Personally, I'm never gonna stay at this hotel ever again whenever I go to Houston, Texas. read more

Almost everything is what I have come to expect from Springhill. SH is one of our regulars when we travel. I really enjoy the newer design with the sliding doors on separate shower and toilet areas that we were just introduced to this summer. It's very handy since I frequently travel with my young sons. Breakfast is typical to our previous experiences with SH except no waffles but maybe that's because it's a weekday. I do have one huge problem; noise. I can hear phones ringing in nearby rooms and I've lost count of how many semis in and motorcycles have woken me since my head hit the pillow at midnight. Incidentally, this is when I gave up on the wifi allowing TWD to download to iTunes. At 4am I was no longer able to sleep so I am writing this while my family sleeps. It's 5 now and the morning birds have started to sing so I'll be hitting the coffee hard at 6:30 when breakfast starts. Hopefully, I can acquire ear plugs before tonight. read more

Just a week ago I was staying at the Capitol Hilton, a few blocks from the White House. You'd think that place would be the shit, but it wasn't, but Springhill Suites totally is. The staff? Amazing - friendly and helpful. The hotel? Clean, modern. The rooms? Modern, spacious, clean. Great soaps. Separate toilet and shower area, which I think is totally smart, flat screen TV, work area, coffee maker, fridge...this place is great and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

Room was fairly clean until grand child with sticky hands fell on floor and got up with all different kinds of hair on her hands. Not crazy about room set up beds to close to rooms in my opinion. My wife's grandpa set up our reservation and wanted to pay for our stay here since we were visiting him and grandma. We arrive in the evening and indicate this to the front desk receptionist. She tells us that everything is paid for, and all that is needed is a credit card on file for "incidentals." We made it clear again that the card was not to be used for the room, and she said it would not happen. We give her our card and assume that everything is good. Well, we check out in the morning and guess what: our card had been charged for the room. The receptionist said there was no "charge agreement" for grandpa's card and therefore our card was charged for the room. We were not given a chance to get this from agreement because we were needed to catch a boat. If we knew about this the night before we would have been able to get the charge agreement signed. Or go to another hotel that was a little less expensive. I emailed the manager to explain the situation: that my card was charged for the room without my consent, and she offered no recompense and her "apology" missed the point -- my card was charged without my consent. This is not a big issue in the larger scheme of things, we can pay for the room, and won't tell grandpa -- he likes to do nice things for his grandkids. What is disturbing is the total lack of awareness from the staff and management about the importance of respecting the wishes of the customer when it comes to their payment method. We give them our credit cards assuming we can trust that they will use them in ways we have consented to. Unfortunately this particular location does not prioritize this. read more

Loved staying here it was located in the perfect spot to get to several family friendly places. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable abput the area surrpund the hotel. The lobby and our room was beautiful and I loved that the shower and toilet were separate so we were not fighting over anything. Plus we enjoyed a few drinks down stairs in the lobby while the kids played and colored.
