Love to come here anytime I'm in Conroe! Owner are so sweet and the donuts and kolaches are so yummy

Was looking for some breakfast and pulled into Troy's Donuts...sometimes you just get really lucky. The young lady at the counter (sorry I did not ger her name) took excellent care of me and I selected a sausage, egg, cheese, and potato breakfast burrito and a couple of donuts. The breakfast burrito is one of the best I've had...stuffed full of all the goodness and cooked perfectly. Added a touch of their hot sauce and it really kicked it over the top. Loved the donuts...the cinnamon was soft inside with a slightly crunchy crust and the old fashioned glaze did not last long. Great food and wonderful service...if I lived here they would be a regular stop for me. read more

Somewhat lackluster kolaches. The breakfast tacos are tastier than they look though. Reheating everything a little goes a long way.

Why 5 stars? Because the donuts and kolaches really hit the spot for us. --- --- --- My in-laws live pretty far out in Montgomery where there aren't a ton of great eateries conveniently located right outside their neighborhood. Where my parents live in Friendswood, it's actually not super challenging to find a decent snack or twelve nearby. And very high on that list of snacks are donuts and kolaches - something my wife and I eat our weight in when we are visiting family in Houston. Sitting in the in-law's kitchen, looking on Yelp at options nearby, there wasn't much to be excited about - there was Troy and not a whole-lot else. But even through Troy was close, it was only 3.5 stars. Fine, when you're in the sticks, you're options are limited. But it turns out, Troy Donuts was pretty awesome! There's a decent amount of kolaches to choose from, including boudain and Chappell Hill sausage, which certainly are not found at every donut shop. Speaking of donuts, they were very Shipley's-esque, which is a good thing. The only weird part of our experience is that they had a sign on the door that says that they have Thai Tea, with a big picture of it. When I asked the woman behind the counter for a Thai Tea, she goes.... "Oh... I don't know how to do that. I can try, but I will warn you that I've never made it before, so I can't guarantee how it will turn out." That was unfortunate, because my wife loves Thai Tea, but it would have been a bonus/surprise, since she was not expecting me to come home with that. Still, you'd think one of the people working here would know how to make something on the menu? Despite that small hiccup, I could see us visiting Troy Donuts every year around Christmas. Delicious and quick! I love the Cinnamon twists and the boudin kolaches. Their donuts are also good. I just wish they had better coffee.

I have had many Chapel Hill sausage kolache's from many places So when I saw Troys had them I was excited to order one and just to satisfy a craving I added a ham and cheese. I don't like to give a negative review; however a chapel hill sausage has a nice snap to the casing and are usually juicy and delicious. Not this one. It was beef jerky. It was so bad I think chapel hill should restrict them from using their name. So I moved to the ham and cheese. The ham and chees kolache was a giant hamburger shaped kolache with only two problems. Small Chunks of ham. ( very few) and no noticeable cheese. The pair of them were so bad that I sit here 12 hrs later writing a review because I can't forget the experience. Perhaps it was just a bad day, but I will not be back to find out. read more

Great donuts, Kolaches, and breakfast sandwiches. We don't live in Montgomery full time but this is one of my go to's when in town. I would recommend getting their earlier as they start to run out later (typical of any good small business). We actually don't get donuts often unless we are near by. If you like good Apple fritters I think they have one of the best. Sometimes they do chocolate iced on top of glazed which is my absolute favorite! read more

Very good! Food is well seasoned and the service was great! Definitely coming back. Kolaches and croissant was my favorite.

BEWARE:They will overcharge you and not refund the difference! .......They are ok donuts. The prices here are higher than the donuts shops around us. If I have the time, I try to avoid this one and go to the one across from April Sound. I have noticed that I can order the same thing each week and I don't pay the same amount. I went yesterday to get 1 dozen plain donut holes and it was now $1.70. UPDATE: I talked to the girl who checked me out and talked to her about prices she charged me..... basically they were overcharging. The sign said one price and they charged more.... she did not care that the sign was wrong. I explained this is illegal to post one price and then charge more... again, they don't seem to care. read more

Hands down to this awesome donut shop. Such a friendly staff and tasty donuts and kolaches. Come out and check them out.

What a fantastic place, coffee fresh, and Kaloches ( not sure of spelling) were delicious, we do not have them in Va, the younger staff very patient, with an older customer, nice to see well mannered and respectful younger people, just wish the coffee cups were a lot bigger, thank you Troy's Donuts read more

3/24/18. The lady at the drive thru window was unpleasant. That and there are big signs that say check your own order. Good advice I was missing my kolaches. In a town with a ton of donut shops you better at least like what you do to stay in business. read more

Donuts are average, I have had much better donuts. The lady at the drive thru is very rude, and bad personality. I asked if she had blueberry donuts and she gave a negative look. I asked if she could repeat the total and she gave me the same negative look. Donuts are overprice I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Had a jalapeno croissant. It was fantastic. My son had a couple of kolaches and they were great also. Nice local place.

"Best donut place ever" was my children's vote! Yummy donuts combined with fun seating made it a hit that we stumbled upon while on a mini vacation. The donuts were delicious and the kolaches were very tasty (even according to my picky eater). There were many varieties of traditional donuts and kolaches as well as breakfast tacos and croissants. They brew Starbucks coffees and had lots of milk/juice choices as well. It must be popular with the locals, too, because the drive thru never stopped while we were there. Moved to Montgomery a year ago. We had been a Shipley Donuts family. Tried Troy's based on a friend's recommendation. WOW!! Kolaches are second to none. The Ham & Swiss is superb!! My family also loves the chocolate covered donut holes. We are converts! read more

I got 2 kolaches and a breakfast taco and they were disgusting. I couldn't even eat it. Cheap chemical filled sausage and the kolache dough was the same crap they use everywhere else. It made my stomach hurt. But the manager did tell me to bring the "food" back so he could refund my money. read more
