WARNING LONG POST!!…read more Okay so tell me if I'm being ridiculous or what.. so last Friday (the 25th) I went to Jabs sporting good store in Troy al to get a t shirt made for my grad pictures which were scheduled to be taken on November 2nd at 3 pm. The girl that I left my order with was super nice and I am not blaming her for anything.. she took my order I paid for it and she told me my shirt would be ready by Thursday (the 31st). Okay cool. Let me start off by saying how excited I was to get that shirt because it would have looked AMAZING in my graduation pictures and I don't usually get too many things custom made because I'm super basic and simple.. So Thursday came and I didn't receive a phone call or anything from them so I took it upon myself to call them on Friday morning and that's when the owner said my shirt would be ready at 4 pm. I explained to her that I get off work at 5:30 and she said they are closing at 5:30 but she told me I could pick it up tomorrow (Saturday) and she would be opened from 8-5:30. Saturday was a very busy day for me already. I had a doctors appointment in Montgomery at 9 am which was about a 30-40 minute drive so I left Troy at 8 to be on the safe side and I had a make up appointment at 12 in Montgomery (which the girl ruined my face so I had to rush home and do my own make up) so I didn't make it back in Troy until 1:50 As soon as I got back I went to Jabs and they were CLOSED. The only number online was the number to the store so of course no one answered so I had to search in my closet and that's when I found this super basic red Troy shirt that I've never even worn before because I thought it was ugly and because of that I felt like my pictures were kind of ruined. Today I went back to jabs for a refund and I explained everything to the owner and I told her how I came to her shop around 2 and she was closed. She explained that she didn't have any air and it was hot so she closed at 1. Okay that's fine but I still didn't get my shirt that I've already paid for in time for my pictures so I feel like a refund would have been a reasonable resolution. She tells me that she doesn't do refunds and THEN goes on to say I could have came early that morning after I told her about my appointments in Montgomery. She THEN goes on to get an attitude and tell me how she doesn't do refunds and she isn't going to argue with me (as if I'm a little girl) so I said that "I wish you would have kept your shop opened a couple of minutes after 5:30 because I literally left my job at right at 5:30" then she said "well why didn't you ask me to" WHAT??? I shouldn't have had to suggest that because you are a business owner and that is just having pure common courtesy! After saying that she goes on to say that "well if I did it for you I would have to do it for everyone and then I would never be able to go home" at this point I'm emotional (I cry when I'm really mad) and I'm telling her that you are literally refusing to give me a refund because of a store policy that YOU came up with when you could just listen to understand rather than listening for a reaction!! AND if she had have listened and truly understood where I was coming from she would have realized that I didn't get my shirt that I've already paid for when I needed it and let me also say that my photo session was 220 dollars! So at this point she is still being mouthy and passive aggressive and disrespectful so I just took the shirt and left. I say all of this to say that some people are very rude and inconsiderate and I will NEVER EVER EVER do business with Jabs Sporting goods again!

Today I went to Hibbett to buy a few last minute gifts for Christmas. I saw an auburn baseball bat…read moreand baseball toy for my nephew on the 25% sale rack so I purchased it for $16.00. I peeled off the sticker when I got outside and noticed that the $16.00 sticker was covering a sticker for $13.99. Upon closer examination I noticed that the $13.99 sticker was actually covering up a $9.99 price sticker. I returned it immediately. Personally, I think this is just a bad business practice and I will no longer shop at Hibbett. I shop there every time I visit and I even had great customer service today, but I will NEVER give a penny to this company again. Consumers beware!!!

Once again, customer service at this store simply could not be better. We ordered a rifle from PSA…read morethat shipped late. We needed to leave town and had back to Denver. This store specifically grabbed our rifle out of the deliveries and processed it while we were standing there. That's a huge inconvenience for them but they did it with a smile. We were leaving town as soon as we picked it up and we're thrilled not to have to wait another day or two. Plus, the selection of firearms, sporting goods, ammo and magazines is far beyond anything in the area. You'd think this huge store was in a big city. Not a blue city mind you. lol. I will miss this gun store and the staff. You were get your dollars worth here as well as some good down home style, chin wagging. I highly recommend this gun sport store. Simply great people.

Surprised they had any. 45 price was reasonable however I though 223s were a little pricey. Large selection of items from grills and seasonings to hunting and fishing. I agree with previous post, could use a more floor space. I will return. More knowledgeable than the sporting goods chains.

I bought one in the box because the models on the floor were all basically finger tight. One thing that I have an issue with all Academy Sports now is the way they have you enter a cattle chute style checkout line. I'm not a bovine and I don't particularly like being corralled. Otherwise I would probably shop here more often.

Probably the worst academy store, they are always out of stock, employees don't care, lazy and will…read morenot help you, they are generally too busy cussing and talking about other employees, they don't know anything about the items they sell. Last 7 times I've ordered items to be picked up in store they are always "out of stock " conveniently only to go to the store and get the item myself. This last order (#8) (out of stock again...) gave up and will shop somewhere else.

The checkout ladies up front were also extremely nice and welcoming. There was one employee in particular mid-20s, black hair, glasses who absolutely stood out. She was incredibly helpful and friendly, and you could tell she genuinely cares about people and takes pride in her job. A true star employee, 10/10. Excellent customer service from start to finish.
