My daughter and her roommate lived in these apartments for a year. It wasn't a great experience. The renters above them had more pets than they should have, and were loud and partied all the time. They repeatedly complained, and the management did nothing. There was no one to call, and they were told to text someone who did nothing and rarely answered the texts. It was so loud that often they couldn't sleep due to the rude neighbors upstairs. Rent was expensive, along with a ridiculous application process where they told us that one of the girls wasn't making enough money to rent the place even with a co-signer (which was ridiculous and not true). When they asked to extend their lease for a few months to avoid moving in winter, they finally got an answer after a couple weeks and were allowed to if they paid a few hundred dollars every month which was absolutely ridiculous given the apartments were not full and the experience they had with neighbors. When they moved out they left the place as they found it and of course Crestview claimed they had to do all these repairs and cleaning which was ridiculous. I was so happy to have her move out of this place. I would strongly advise anyone considering living here to reconsider. It's not worth the rent, the abysmal, pathetic management and lack of peace and quiet which they are required by law to provide. read more

Living at Trout Meadows was the worst 2 years of my life. My three other roommates and I were told that we didn't make enough and couldn't get a co-signer. Shea advised us that if we paid three months of rent up front for a 6 month lease we could we submit our paystubs and we would get approved for a one year lease and not have to pay the three months up front again because we would have shown them that we could afford it. Little did we know she was a liar and had us repay the three months up front. We were not able to rebuild our savings everytime and couldn't find another place to live because we didn't have enough for a deposit. She kept increasing our rent every 6 months too making it hard to scrap up the money. She was never in her office and almost impossible to get ahold of. She kept trying to charge us with noise complaints and finally stopped after I told her I had contacted the police and they said it was illegal and we could only be charged if they thought the complaints were valid. We didn't have heat in our living room and the maintenance couldn't figure out why so she called an electrician who said that the heater was stuck to the wall and there were no wires there to connect to anything. The final straw was when she said we could only do a three month lease and would have to pay three months up front. Trout Meadows and Shae the manager are scammers. read more

This place is terrible. The lady who runs it, Shea Oller, is completely worthless. The lease is long, as all of them are, but the gist of it is that they can f**k you over in any way and you can't do anything about it. They will not meet with you to discuss anything in person because they need a record of everything which should be a red flag in itself. They will keep your whole security deposit when you move out most likely, even if you think you left the place in tip top condition. If you ask them any questions regarding charges, they will charge you extra just for the time it took for them to answer emails. I sent a total of 5 emails and got charged $90 for their time. DO NOT live here. You will regret it 100%. F**k this place. Not good for a rating is an understatement. read more

On a positive note, this complex is in a stunning location with all the amenities you need in close proximity. Unfortunately, that is the only positive. My daughter was new to the area and looked, rather hurriedly, for an apartment during off season rental time. She lived here for a year and a half in two different units. I cosigned for her and helped her navigate communication as she was a first time renter. The management is just terrible and seems to take advantage of younger tenants who do not know better. Their policy is to lock the rental office door and not communicate in person. They require an email or text for any communication and often take a while to respond. The apartments are average. The pool and the "gym" were never open or accessible. Be careful if you rent with them and document and photograph everything. They will do their best to charge you outrageous fees for moving out and administrative fines and "investigations" imposed out of the blue without any shared details. They accused my daughter via text message of leaving trash outside her apartment and told her to clean it up immediately! She was not even home when it happened. Upon move out, we wrote to them asking for clarification on their almost $1000 charge for various items that did not make sense and did not even add up mathematically and they never even responded. There are so many options in Bozeman that there is no need to do business with this company. read more

These apartments were disappointing to say the least. The person who lived below me for the first few months I lived there smoked a version of weed I was highly allergic to. These apartments are listed as no smoking and it also says in the lease they are no smoking. I complained to management multiple times and they didn't seem to care at all. No one at this office is on the same page. They are horrible at keeping appointments. Everything has to go through the Missoula office. My gym key never worked during the 10 months I lived there. I took it by the office multiple times but they could never manage to fix it. The 2 times I did try to use the hot tub it was broken. The pool was open a short period of time and was ice cold and gross. This place is not worth the money. They will find literally anything to try and take money from your deposit at the end. If your apartment is in perfect condition expect to pay $100-$200 for new stove drip pans, microwave vent filters, random door painting and whatever else they can come up with. read more

I haven't lived here but their writing only communication policy is just so they can keep things as impersonal as possible. Working with Montana Crestview ( the overarching company) has been a nightmare and they have no flexibility on move in or move out dates, they won't let you talk to anyone to try to compromise anything. They don't care if you end up homeless, all they care about is profit. They canceled my lease the day it was supposed to start because I was "disregarding policy", by disregarding policy I simply asked to speak to somebody about trying to adjust my lease. They told me multiple times I agreed to their writing only policy, but my mistake was not fully realizing that writing only meant I could NEVER speak to someone on the phone. Shea Oller is who I dealt with and she told me to not make this personal, however I would like the people providing me with a place to live to be personal, call me old fashioned but I don't think anyone should give such an insensitive place business. read more

I have lived here for 10 months and I hate it. The hot tub never works. The management is a joke. I have been able to utilize the hot tub maybe 2 months out of the 10 I have lived here. I waited over 1 month for my disposal to be fixed in my sink. After checking in for the 4th time it was finally replaced, everyone there just doesn't seem to care. I adopted a new pet. I called and made all the arrangements with management before doing so and I have a saved voice mail saying it's an additional $200 for a dog deposit. When i got in there it was $400 extra. They allowed me to pay the 200 up front and I had to pay the remaining additional within the month. I went in for my scheduled appt and they were gone 1x. Another time I scheduled my appt for my only day off yet they said I came in on the wrong day and would need ro reschedule again. I put my foot down and made them do the 10 min process of gathering my already filled out paper work for me to sign. Everyone who stops by the leasing office I try and tell them not to rent here. Nice amenities but not worth it. I've lived in some very high rent districts across the country and never been treated as poorly as I have by the management at Trout Meadows. Even if you are by all accounts a good renter (pay on time, are clean, etc...) it is as if this place goes out of it's way to find flaws and keep your money. They are incredibly rigid and the checkout process is a nightmare. I have never cleaned a place so thoroughly in my life and in turn what I received was an stunningly nit picky 4-5 page manifesto of what I did not clean. This included--I kid you not--fingerprints, minor smudges, and even things you couldn't even find to clean if you wanted to! On top of that they will charge you several hours of "cleaning" at $30/hr. I'm not sure what they're cleaning, but it can't possibly take that long. Charging that many hours is the same as stealing in my opinion. On top of that, when you try to talk to them about things they avoid transparency and even availability, often contradict themselves, and ultimately sand bag you through indirect means of communication like U.S. mail - informing you how much of your money they've kept. In my experiences with them I've never seen them concede even an ounce of accountability or demonstrate anything that closely resembles customer service. Super frustrating to say the least. I would avoid this place unless it's your last option in Bozeman. Because you should definitely live in Bozeman, this town itself is AWESOME. read more

There is nothing 'luxury' about these apartments. They are over priced and grossly under managed. In the 8 months i have lived here i have not encountered one person who disagrees with me. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to live. read more
