My daughter just moved into a 2 bedroom. The grounds are immaculate, the apartment is not luxury, but very nice with great windows and newer carpet. They overlook a green belt and there is a fire pit out front with chairs. The move in process and details were made seamless by Donye in their office. She quickly answered questions as we were signing the lease and helped us on move-in day as well. They also rekey the locks between tenants, so a little extra safety is reassuring. read more

I've loved living at Mountain View, like the rest of Bozeman rent is always high, but Mountain View really provides and works with you for what you're paying for. They were super understanding when I had to add my cat to my ESA letter, and maintenance is always on time and speedy with requests. I'm more of a stick to myself renter but everytime I've had to work with them they give me really clear and good answers, unlike a lot of other apartments complexes and management companies, I'm not on a wild goose chase trying to find out what I'm supposed to do. The only thing I tend to complain about is parking for guests, and I wish the fences weren't as wide cause my dog can slip between them read more

Wow...where to start, so many negative things to say about this place... For one, the rent is outrageously overpriced, even for Bozeman (~$1289, 2016). The apartments are old and have probably never been renovated and barely maintained. When we first moved in there was a huge hole in the balcony floor, the "fix" was to put a piece of painted plywood over the hole, they told me they'd be fixing it shortly, but after 6 months hadn't done a thing. The door was missing a striker plate and the frame was cracked, part of the stove didn't work and we waited weeks for a replacement part. A supposed "perk" of this place is "free Internet/TV" when in actuality, the charge is included in your rent and you have no choice in the matter if you don't want cable. They were also in the process of "upgrading" the Internet service by forcing everyone to share Wi-Fi networks and were in the process of removing individual cable modems. Luckily, we moved out before they took our modem away, but I'd be highly skeptical of sharing Internet connections with a large apartment complex. The parking situation is insane; they charge you monthly to park there (there are some "free" spots, but not many) on top of the high rent. They cannot even manage to enforce their own lease rules, specifically if you park in the "free" spots you're required to move your car after 72 hours or get towed...at least in theory and in the lease. They don't actually enforce this rule, they let people park their junker cars full of trash in the same spot for months on end (see picture) then ignore you when you complain about it. The maintenance staff completely disregards established appointments and decides to enter your apartment whenever they see fit; they claim that since they "gave notice" that it's not a violation of the lease. It would be one thing if this only happened once, but after the first time, and after I made a specific complaint to management, it happened another 2 times over the course of 6 months. Luckily, I was able to speak with someone in their corporate office who agreed to waive the lease termination fee and let me out of my lease so I could find a better place. The grounds are full of dog feces, which is especially frustrating as they charge you several non-refundable "pet fees" which are supposed to cover waste bags and waste cleanup, they do have plenty of bags at least; cleanup is lacking, though. Management personnel at this place are the worst I have ever encountered, granted, I've only lived in two states and 8 different rental places, but the complete disdain for tenants is apparent pretty much right after you sign the lease. If you need a place and you're desperate it might be ok for a while, but I'd recommend staying far away from Mountain View Apartments. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I would sue this place if it was worth the time. Upon move out I was told I would get my full 750 deposit back from the pre inspection. Once I moved out I received 500$ ceiling cleaning charge, 500$ general cleaning charge, 700$ of random charges, and 300$ of charges they couldn't even explain when I asked. (Total of 2k in charges) When trying to go to the apartment company they said "Sucks to suck". Awful people with awful values. No matter how pretty it looks they will make your life much harder than it needs to be! read more

Not fancy but it's clean, comfortable, and allows the pets! Plus it has park like grounds that make living here quite peaceful.

I don't understand all of the bad press here. Management here has been so good to us and very honest about everything. We moved here from Georgia and were impressed by Donye as she walked us through everything. All this Summer, they have poured money into this complex and improved everything. They are doing their best! Also, Martin is just the best maintenance supervisor ever! We have never waited a lengthy time period for something to be repaired. He has fixed everything perfectly and fast. What more can someone ask? It's also very quiet here at night and folks in our building respect each other. This Summer has been very hot and I do wish we had AC but it has been tolerable. Also, we love the parking under the carport area. It keeps the car clean and really helps with snow. Please don't make your decision to rent based on all of the negative stuff posted. We don't see it that way! This is a pet friendly complex and we have have ample room to walk our dog and they even supply doo doo bags of everyone to use. The internet service is super fast and the TV cable has a perfect picture. Even the college kids that live here are super polite and stop to pet our dog and exchange pleasant dialog with us. The heating system is very warm in the winter and very efficient. This place although it does have some age, is very comfortable, clean and presentable. The entire office staff is courteous, honest and forthright. Lawn maintenance and trash service is on time every time and is done on the same day to reduce noise. LOCATION IS BEST IN TOWN! Everything is a rocks throw away and easy to access from here. One more thing. Snow is removed from streets and sidewalks in the winter in a timely manner to facilitate easy in and out of the community. Larry and Vickie read more

Recently applied to this fine establishment. We had an issue we were worried would cause our denial, but they told us that it wouldn't be a problem, Great ! Well... $90 in application fees and a wasted day securing documents later...we were denied ! One call (and 15 minutes on hold) with the company who ran the check confirmed that it was indeed THAT issue that caused our denial (they actually told me how great everything else looked), and that it was MOUNTAIN VIEW APARTMENTS own choice to deny because of this issue. Mountain View refused to work with us after this point. (keeping our $90, obviously !) I'm not prepared to say that they intentionally lied to us or that they are criminals, but at best the two (seemingly) nice ladies working in the office are inept at their jobs...at worst they intentionally spam craigslist with ads pulling in people to take their applications fees. Anecdotally speaking...in my hour or so spent in their office I witnessed at least 3 other people in there asking why they were denied...appears to be a common occurrence. Bozeman's a tough town to find affordable rentals, particularly if you have pets...and these people know it. Good luck with your search ! Oh! by the way, something they don't tell you in their "pet friendly" ad's $400 NON-refundable fee for pets. and $150 lease initiation fee... it costs $150 to print off some paper and sign it ! read more

I lived there in 2010. Cabinets were falling apart, our heater didn't work, and the staff was incredibly rude. Our roommate at the time screwed us even though she was on the lease. MV ended up raising our rent to over 1200 for a pet deposit. After allowing the staff to come into our apartment and investigate whether we had a dog or not, they found no evidence, yet continued to charge us that amount. Then they changed their accusations to I had a cat instead. When explaining how allergic I was to cats, I was told to stop making excuses and breaking my lease or I would be kicked out. this went on for a month or two before I could no longer stand it and left. They claim it's a great community. It is if you're desperate. I had nowhere to go and they let me sign and move in that day.... It seemed too good to be true and it was! There is dog shit EVERYWHERE you step that they never clean, literally the thinnest walls in history. I could hear my upstairs neighbor snoring on a really quiet night. The staff at Mountain View Apartments is marvelously friendly and helpful. I've lived in some places where, if there's a problem, you might get some help in a week or so. At Mt. View, the staff are ready to roll. The complex is older but very conveniently located to the high school and downtown, plus they allow pets. It's just what we needed for our transition from rural Montana to Bozeman. The grounds are very well maintained (not sure about snow because we've only been here in the summer so far). We're near the dog park and walking path - both are very convenient with our dog. I would happily recommend Mountain View Apartments to anyone moving to Bozeman, especially if they have pets. read more

I don't even want to give this place a single star. This place sucks it is not worth the pay in rent. The walls are thin you can even hear foot steps. Everything is falling apart yes falling fucking apart. These were low income housing and this is what it should be. I get the supply and demand but I can rent a condo for this price or a house. Tell me why I should pay over 1,000 a month for these shitty apartments. There is brand new apartments that are pet friendly new stainless steel appliances 2 bedroom locked entry and a garage at 1,100 a month. Only desperate people with bad credit will rent here. People won't stay long term and maybe that's what you want. Fix this fucking place up taking in all this stickin money but not fixing up the aprtments. You guys are FUCKING greedy corporate. The new apartment managers suck, they will not work with customers, and try to use old unclear contracts to screw customers, and try to hold customers to obligations that were not made when the contracts were signed. Rent is constantly increasing, neighbors are loud and obnoxious, parking is hard to find, and the managers are rarely in the office during posted business hours. Occasionally repairs are made to the apartments that are done well, the rest of the time they are half-assed. The cabinets are falling apart, our sliding door dose not lock, and our main door dose not seal properly. Quiet hours are not enforced, neither are parking permits. The only positive thing about this place is that they allow pets. read more
