Lots of parking available with two gender neutral pavilion style bathrooms. Beautiful views of the intracoastal waterway with fishing, canoeing, kayaking and miles of winding walking paths. Hundreds of Fiddler crabs own the sandy beach with the chance to see a dolphin. Dogs and swimming permitted but sharks or gators could attack. The Guana Forest are the islands in the distance across from the Nocatee Landing.

I've met my wife here a few times for lunch and got to relax away from the crazies of the hospital. The space looks like it is decently kept and picked up. It has a pier if you would like to walk out over the water (there's even a bench at the end). A classic park grill sits outside of the main pavillion, but I'm not so sure I would use it in its current state... Anyway, this is a nice place to get away for an hour or so.

We stay at the inn at least 3 weekends a year and always take our fur child. We like to walk with her in the park. The park is never crowded and very peaceful. Being in Florida, it is also has many trees, which provide plenty of shade. There are also several benches throughout for you to sit. They are made out of stone. There is a statue of St. Francis of Assisi in the back corner of the park. Our dog hates it for some reason and always barks at it! We did notice this recent trip that homeless people are staying there at night, just an FYI. It is also a little higher than the sidewalk. I never noticed a ramp for wheelchairs, just stairs. This park is so quiet and a great place to meditate or reflect. You don't even need music.

The water was cold, which would have been great for a sunny day, but we posted along the shore and just let the kids have fun. It's a beautiful beach, lots of shells to find, and big beach houses to admire! Once you're done, there are showers and dressing areas to rinse the sand and get into drier and warm clothes. It was my son's first beach experience, and I think he liked it!

I love how there are a few yoga instructors who have regularly occurring classes on the sand too! @BeyondBreathWellness offers yoga on Sundays when they are in town, and more recently @yoga_with_alisa has been offering yoga too! (follow them on instagram to find a yoga class) Parking is limited at the main Mickler's lot so I recommend arriving early in the morning or in the evening. When there is a full moon, the light from the moon is more than enough to see through the dark on the sand. A great spot for laying out, swimming, or picnicing.

There were also many covered benches available all along the pier. Plus, lots of fishermen. There's a drive up circle at the beginning of the pier, convenient for dropping off and picking up someone. There was street parking, but depending on the time is day, you may have to drive around a bit to find a spot. There were several restaurants close by for dining. And the beach is pretty close.

And loads of different types of camping/cabin rentals available. And a pool! This day I went just to walk the trails and it's amazing how you can feel so far in the woods while still being basically in a neighborhood. The trails aren't very long but plenty to see along the way. I liked the tree house trail and seeing the neat treehouses you can camp in. And the views over the river are gorgeous down the jungle trail. If you need to get out to touch grass, highly suggest this spot!

There was so much wildlife to be heard throughout the night including owls, woodpeckers, and what we think were crickets or maybe lubbers. The bathrooms and shower areas were very clean for a park/camping area. There are different trails to explore along the path to the treehouses, which we didn't have a chance to do. We suggest bringing a sheet or blanket to cover your mattresses. Each treehouse has 2 twin sized bunk beds (total of 4 mattresses). They are VERY uncomfortable, so if you need extra support, you should probably bring a mattress topper/padding. The grills were pretty clean, just need some dusting off before cooking, though, nothing out of the ordinary. Upkeep for everything was great!
